### "Lots of promise but not enough focus on the core"

December 5, 2019

3.0

This software has great promise as an MDM solution but it lags behind other solutions. If you’re looking for free and iOS/Android this is for you. If you want to manage computers you may want to consider looking elsewhere. Systems Manager doesn’t scale well and provide advanced features.

Pros

This is a beautiful MDM solution that supports all platforms which is great. There are some features not found elsewhere that make it easy to integrate security functionality with Meraki’s networking stack. Want WPA2 enterprise with TLS? Systems manager makes this seamless.

Cons

Feature set prioritizes integration with Meraki stack. Features introduced by Apple or Microsoft at the OS level can take months if not years to finally be implemented. This can cause quite a lag as your user base upgrades. No real features to manage the patch level of devices aside from manually pushing updates each time. Licensing cost fluctuates frequently (it’s free, it’s paid, it’s mostly free but sometimes paid).

### "Meraki Systems Manager for MDM needs"

December 11, 2018

5.0

This was the perfect solution to help us manage company issued iPads, iPhones and Apple TV's. We can now track, secure, wipe or unlock any of these devices from the console. Best of all, pushing apps and settings to those devices is simple and can be done remotely.

Pros

We liked that it was a breeze to setup and managing devices can occur the same day you have a license to use it. We had a free trial and got to test all features of the tool before committing.

Cons

It could use a customizable dashboard. The reporting side needs to be a bit more robust as well.

### "Meraki is easier than regular Cisco Wireless."

January 15, 2019

5.0

Pros

1) Consolidated management of all of our Meraki devices at different location. 2) You can use same configuration template for all or multiple locations. 3) Cisco meraki's keeping up with new vulnerability game is really good. 4) You can use MX devices for SD-WAN which is much more simpler than regular Cisco CLI devices.

Cons

1) If you are using template based deployment then your guest ambassador account can't delete user accounts for wireless. 2) Like many other cloud solution, there is a lack of granularity & fear of compromise.

### "A cloud-based flexible and scalable networking solution"

May 1, 2023

3.0

It's a powerful and flexible networking solution for businesses of all sizes. Its ease of use and scalability make it an attractive option for many users

Pros

One of the main advantages of Cisco Meraki is its ease of use. The platform offers a simple and intuitive interface that makes it easy for businesses to manage their network devices, even if they don't have extensive technical expertise. This can be especially beneficial for small and medium-sized businesses that may not have dedicated IT staff.

Cons

the cost of the devices and subscriptions, which can be relatively high compared to other networking solutions. This may make it less suitable for small businesses or those with limited budgets.Another potential issue is the reliance on cloud-based management. While the cloud-based management can be convenient, it also means that businesses need a reliable internet connection to manage their devices. This can be a challenge in areas with poor connectivity or when there are network disruptions.

### "Fresh and Easy deploy without Support"

March 18, 2019

5.0

Really good, I love it!

Pros

One of the most powerful thing for Meraki is their visibility, you have a lot ! I mean, you can see what is happening in your network in real time, clients with or without policy. Security Notification for each user and so on. Auto-VPN its another pretty good feature to configure without difficult for any kind of network engineers IPsec tunnels easily and remote access as well.

Cons

Support really sucks, they have access to every single device in their cloud but unfortunately is not a responsive team.

### "Cisco Meraki"

February 9, 2017

4.0

I use Cisco meraki everyday to monitor APs in different locations across the state. The cloud interface allows me to see how many devices are connected, if the APs are down, and how much bandwidth is being used. Cisco merKi makes it easy to see the most common bandwidth users and which devices is accessing the most. From the cloud interface you could setup multiple SSIDs and create custom splash pages.

Pros

The cloud interface allows you to customize your network to your settings. Remotely update APs, mobile devices, and desktops

Cons

When remoting into devices it uses java.

### "Cisco Meraki Solution to Security"

January 18, 2019

5.0

Pros

Cisco Meraki has enterprise level or security and features that truly give any network the strength to do good business. Its user interface is very adaptive to firewall and equipment setup.

Cons

The hard issue that the user interface requires knowledge of how to navigate and setup the systems. This can be difficult if you have no prior training or experience.

### "Best Network Management Software"

October 22, 2019

5.0

It has drastically helped us manage our network and assign privileges to students who need to be further restricted.

Pros

Meraki is easily the best way to manage Access Points and switches. My favorite feature is the tagging system so I can tag a whole group of clients or AP's and assign SSID's, privileges and anything else I want to anybody who falls into that category.

Cons

It is on a licensing deal. I would rather buy the application and devices and be done with it rather than worrying about figuring out licenses for everything as well.

### "Free tier is great"

November 13, 2018

4.0

It makes it much safer and simpler to deploy mailboxes.

Pros

The software can be used for up to 100 devices without charge making it very good value for money. It monitors our devices very well and can even deploy policies to individual devices that have certain tags, such as mailboxes.

Cons

As soon as you go 1 license over the 100 free, you have to pay for all 101.

### "Love this product"

September 19, 2018

5.0

Pros

We converted over to Meraki about 2 years ago and it was the best decision we have made. The features and functionality of the dashboard are outstanding and being able to work from anywhere and make changes as needed is great.

Cons

Dashboard can be cumbersome at times and do think some of the items could be laid out a bit better visually.

### "Meraki Systems Manager"

December 16, 2019

3.0

Overall, Meraki will give you what you need and want. The service and product itself is good, and you do get what you pay for. The convenience alone is enough reason to recommend it Meraki.

Pros

Meraki is easy to set up and use, and is cloud based. It has a fairly decent set of features, including management of profiles and security. Meraki is very organized, everything is readily available on the dashboard for you. The ability to see who is logged into what device and where saves a lot of worry and stress.

Cons

It can be a little pricey. The app could use some updating for it's features. Updates can run slow, but they are not unbearable.

### "Nice and robust features but a high price tag"

June 29, 2021

4.0

The centralized dashboard make configuration easier in a complex multi-site / multi-country setup as compared to the Cisco Catalyst setup we had before

Pros

Centralized dashboard to manage all network stuff ( MX Firewall appliances, Switches, Accesspoints )

Cons

The Dashboard status updates are a bit sluggish sometime. Had some issues bringing switch stacks online. Adopt them individually and stack them together afterwards worked.

### "Meraki Network Management"

March 17, 2022

4.0

Pros

The meraki portal allows aggregation of networking devices on a single software platform. That is, if you're networking hardware is made by Cisco. The dashboards are great at displaying compact/relevant flows of network information.

Cons

The UX occasionally has hiccups and is not always intuitive enough to assist in finding settings/features.

### "Dated, Unreliable MDM"

January 7, 2019

3.0

We started using Meraki a long time ago when there was a free option for the MDM, which was a great boon to the organization. We paid for support for a while when we needed it, which was reasonable at the time. Since then, the free program ended, and now the pricing is higher than most of the competitors. We could get over having to issue app push commands over and over when it was free, but having to pay a premium for one of the less reliable MDMs we've tested just wasn't in the cards, so we ended up switching. It's certainly not a horrible option, especially if you have an all-Meraki network and can manage everything in one place, but if you're just in it for the MDM like we were, there are better options out there, especially ones with smoother automation and ease of use.

Pros

Initially free, it implemented everything we needed for mobile device management for Apple devices.

Cons

With the free programs ended, Meraki became one of the most expensive options, which made its other flaws less tolerable. Commands to devices often fail with cryptic messages that require lots of manual retries.

### "Anyone can operate meraki"

August 17, 2020

4.0

I would say it is an extremely user friendly product.

Pros

Cisco Meraki operation is like operating a laptop. The configuration of the firewall, switches, cameras and access point is extremely simple.

Cons

The product is sometimes a little bit intermittent responder. Configuration fetching from cloud sometimes takes a little bit of time.

Reason for choosing Cisco Meraki

Because of its simplicity and user friendliness.
