Cons The cost of Cisco Meraki devices and license is too expensive for the most small business companies. We utilize this network product on a campus where the switches aren't configured the same as other campuses. Pros The thing I like most about Cisco Meraki is that it had a good "plug & play" usability. I like that I don't have to configure each AP. I can simply plug the AP into an internet connection, and it will begin broadcasting the WiFi network. Cons The thing I like least about Cisco Meraki is that it is sometimes difficult to find where to go to apply certain networks to APs. The interface of the dashboard could use a little updating. So many layers and levels of applications and details you can configure to your network to make it exactly how you want or need it. Clean interface and originally had great support Cons The support has gone down hill, not tons of features and hasnt really added many new feautres since I first implemented 2 years ago. November 15, 2019 3.0 If we get an option to switch to something else for our managed systems, I hope we can find a decent alternative to Meraki. Pros This system provides admins the means to keep track of their assets within their control and push (some) stuff out to them through the client. Having one each at two sites made setting up a point-to-point VPN easy. Cons The 100 free MDM device limit was a deal breaker for us when we went over this many devices in our org. June 11, 2020 5.0 Helps solve the problem of trying to manage multiple access points. Pros The dashboard layout is nice and easy to use. I can easily view and make changes to access points from anywhere! Cons I cannot think of any features that are missing or need to be added. So far I have not had any issues. Cons The menu organization is not always how one would intuitively think, so you sometimes spend time clicking between menu options thinking, "Oh, maybe it's in Clients? No? Oh, maybe Devices?" Pros We can manage all the mobile connected to the network. You can disconnect any device which you want, allocate a set of bandwidth and control basically all the devices in your network.Also, it's a cloud-based service which is more amazing. Through Meraki every field manager turned on the iPad it went through a custom setup I had created with only the apps they needed at the time and a sweet background that went with the theme of the event. Cons Sometimes its a little slow to response and knowing where to navigate can take some time. I wish it was a little more intuitive for navigating. Overall rather straight forward. January 10, 2019 5.0 Pros MSM is a pretty great MDM that can manage most devices out there. It's not as full featured as something like JAMF, but for the variety of systems that it covers and its integration with Meraki I'd say its worth it. Cons Difficult to remove the software from a Mac. Support is great (as is all Meraki Support) and there is lots of documentation. Cons Lacks enterprise features such as Knox containers and custom APK deployment which other MDMs do support. Pros The cloud management makes the management of clients firewalls a breeze. I can easily monitor and make changes from anywhere. Cons It takes a bit to make sense of the user interface, but once you have used it for a while, it all makes sense. It also easily translates to other Cisco cloud interfaces, like umbrella.
