Pros It is really easy to deploy and manage. You can give granular permissions to users and organize many DB without affecting privacy. Pulses are great to deliver scheduled reports. Pros This database analytic software is fairly easy to setup and very easy to create reports and input custom SQL queries. You can easily view the SQL that any given report is running. Cons So far I have not found anything I dislike about this software. The DevOps employee had a little bit of difficulty with the initial setup, but after that it was smooth sailing. Reason for choosing Metabase Tableau was too expensive and we only had a single license due to this. Metabase is far superior, faster, and cheaper. March 18, 2020 4.0 I usually work with our Engineering team to set up relevant queries for Business Operations which I can then run at my leisure to get the data that I need. This helps me guide the strategy of my department. In this respect, the tool is invaluable, though to an SQL novice like meet is quite complex on first approach. Pros super flexible tool which in the right hands can pull all sorts of fantastic information which is essential for business operations. Cons for me personally it is overly complex, I struggle with the SQL commands to get the information need, though my level is very low. I don't think that you need a high level to get on with this tool. Obviously, things could be easier but I am fine as it is. Pros I am not a techie person but I do understand the importance of data. As I do not have much time in the day to run queries and review raw data, I appreciate how you can make graphs, line charts, pie charts, an other visual graphs on Metabase. This provides me with a quick overview of how our company is doing. Cons It's not user friendly. You do need to learn a coding language to pull the data out of the data tables. I simply don't have time to do that and it surprises me that people are paid to learn this language. There should be a more simple way to get and analyze data. Review Source NP Nick P. Pros Simplified dashboarding for the less tech-savy. We utilized this platform to try and provide data insights to the less tech skilled high level staff. This gave our higher-ups a method to watch performance metrics without having to get in and get their hands dirty with the data. Its certainly a fine solution and will help you reach that goal. I had a good experience using this platform and do recommend it for others seeking to solve that same problem. Cons Would have preferred more comprehensive analysis options for building out reports. Pros Worklogs overview is very useful and it provides me reliable way to check and verify correctness of my previous month's work. I think it has the potential to be a really powerful tool that provides a user-friendly UI. For our current needs, it was far too limited; however, simple or smaller companies could benefit from it. Pros Ability to quickly generate simple visualizations and data from CLEAN & SIMPLE datasources. For a basic query tool, monthly price is inexpensive. End-users can quickly learn Cons So many limitations! Users of more mature BI tools (like Tableau) will have a hard time with this simple program.
