I was able to get accustomed to the application with great ease. Cons I think the application needs to have slightly more versatile for it to be used for a wider variety of reasons. The lack of a sync we can use makes it only marginally better than powerpoint or visio. Pros The ability to document system requirements and share them with remote teams and stakeholders. Cons the integration with JIRA is two way and syncs ALL cards. We have systems that have been live for several y ears and have tens of thousands of stories. We can't use the sync. It would be great if we could use CardBoard to document a new epic and then import them into JIRA without maintaining the link or having a two-way sync. Review Source NH Natasha H. Pros It's a nice digital way to storyboard without wasting paper. CardBoard lets you change the color of each card as well as font sizing and the ability to create dividers which really helps with organization. Cons The biggest issue with CardBoard is that it isn't super user-friendly. Members of our team weren't able to add or customize cards and we couldn't figure out why. Ended up using Visio for now, but might use the tool in future. Pros Ease of use. There are not many tool that allow you to create story maps easily. Integration with Jira. Cons Can’t support/create complex story maps easily. Need the ability to resize cards. I’d be really nice if there was an ability to add markers on the card to denote additional info (add a round tag to the card and color it). Also, ability to format text on the card and a few words preview of description would be great. We had a huge (physical) wall on which we used post it notes to do feature mapping. Each team was a column and their features to develop was in that column, and the status of the features were rows. Mirrored the entire wall on cardboard and slowly discontinued using the wall. 2. Documented process flows by using the highlighting specific cards feature Pros Ability to highlight cards as part of a single process flow or feature Cons Many manual actions required for each card. Would be nice to have some automatic built in features. It's very easy to drag and drop tickets, as you would do in the real life. It is very visual and makes grouping of tasks/tickets a breeze. The interface is fairly intuitive, even if someone is new to the product. Cons There are times when I found myself unable to edit the card I created without having to click several menu items. Even after having used it multiple times, I ran into unexpected results when trying to create, move or edit new cards. I would also love to have this export as a text or csv file to make it easier to use the results in other applications such as Jira. Director of UX Computer Software Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Awesome, Focused solution, but pricey" July 27, 2018 5.0 It was a great trial experience, and I loved playing with the tool. Just wish it wasn't so expensive. Specifically, I only need a couple of permanent licenses, but when I run workshops, I need between 5 and 50 people to be able to edit all at once, but only for a few hours. Sometimes, I need temporary licenses for temporary team members who'll only need to edit for a few days or weeks. Nobody has really cracked this pricing structure yet. Pros I loved how well it accomplished its core feature set. It was as close to the perfect solution to the kind of tool I was looking for for the specific tasks I was doing at the time. Cons Unfortunately the price-point made it competitive with products like Mural and RealTime Board, both of which have a VAST array of features that CardBoard does not. If CardBoard offered feature-based pricing it'd win a lot of the time, but it simply can't compete with those other tools. So, if you're going to spend that much money, may as well get all those other features should you need them for other projects in the future. Review Source TD Tshering D. Cons It would be nicer if we could use CardBoard to generate empty Jira tickets so we get going once we've made our decisions. It would also be nice to see the ticket statuses on the CardBoard board. Love that it allows multiple people working simultaneously. That's real collaboration! Pros It was quick and easy to pull a small group together to teach them story mapping through an exercise. Everyone was able to contribute right away. A few even loved CardBoard so much they kept building on the exercise, and demonstrating the product to colleagues. Cons Would like to draw release lines that are snug to the user story cards by allowing the lines to turn vertically while going horizontally to indicate releases. Pros I liked how I was able to easily capture an image of my work plan at any time and send it off to my team and/or manager for review. It was also nice to be able to share boards with other users from my team with ease. Cons At times it was a little difficult to navigate, but once you got the hang of it, it became easy to use.
