The team is always available to provide support and answer any questions. They take the time to walk through demos of new features, ensuring we’re up to speed. The onboarding process was smooth, and their ongoing communication since becoming a customer has been fantastic. Their commitment to customer success really stands out. Pros I really appreciate how simple and efficient it is to create battlecards using Crayon Intel. The pre-designed templates make the process smooth, and the ability to notify users of updates in real time keeps everyone informed and up-to-date. It's a highly user-friendly tool for competitive intelligence. Cons There’s nothing I dislike about the product itself. However, getting internal teams to consistently engage with Crayon Intel and contribute field intelligence can be difficult. It would be great if the platform had additional features or tools to encourage engagement. Analyst Financial Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Easy to use but could be better" June 20, 2022 4.0 With Crayon, we expected not only to have the daily news monitoring of our competitors but more significant assistance for their analysis, as well as better use of the tool to scale for the company, which did not happen! Pros I use Crayon to track competitor news information, being fast and up-to-date, and having several features on the platform such as keywords and saved searches. Moreover, through Crayon, I could integrate battle cards (with information about our main competitors) on Salesforce, helping negotiate. Cons Despite being an easy-to-use tool, the platform requires a highly manual daily curation, and it has many features that should be improved. An example is tracking news, which can repeatedly appear in your feed, and you have to select which one will be sent to people in your company. The platform could also be much more helpful if it had an intelligence advisory, given that I notice that only the tracking of news from other sites and the search for keywords on the internet is done, but without a real intelligence in the filter of this information. Therefore, Crayon cannot help us or update information, such as battle cards, for more advanced research. Review Source MA Mark A. In addition to the power of Crayon itself, the team behind it is phenomenal. From the Sales Team to the Customer Success Team and Analyst, everyone is quick to respond and eager to help, either by hopping on a quick call, providing direct support, or sharing helpful resources. Cons The differences in what type of insights and blocks can be added to Battlecards compared to Boards is somewhat frustrating, but not a deal breaker. November 1, 2022 4.0 I'm writing this review as an assist to other CI folks out there considering this platform. I reviewed and actually selected their platform at a prior company, selecting them above another vendor based solely on price alone. The POC with this vendor was rather straightforward. They displayed and demo~d the functionality in a staged environment and gave me limited access to their product to POC it. It was fine. The UI was a bit clunky, and performing some needed operations was tricky and needed workarounds (like distributing intel to specific target audiences, something other vendors could do relatively easily). The search engine capability was very deep, and covered a lot of obvious and not-so-obvious intel sources. Organizing data within the tool was very nice utilizing a strong filtering capability and the use of "boards".However, once selected, it was like squeezing water from a stone to get the vendor's attention. The assigned CSM/project manager was unresponsive, and getting time on the calendar to set up an implementation timeline was close to impossible. I can't understand a vendor that goes to the trouble of securing your business and then has less-than-ordinary service to assist once you've signed a contract. Others were given the impression this platform could serve as a self-service CI tool, not requiring an analyst to manage. Silly. The overall platform offered is okay, but it's ultimately useless if you can't get the assistance to implement and support it. Pros Good search engine capability for CI news, and the tool utilizes deep and wide-ranging news sources.Filtering of types of news and news sources also very goodGood integrations with other popular tools Cons Poor customer service: Once we selected the vendor, getting customer service, a project manager and an implementation timeline was almost non-existent. Pros Allows me to do a quick check every day/week for key news that was missed by other tools such as Meltwater and Google Alerts. Cons Expensive for the full platform! In this regard, roadmaps, templetes and suggestions were worth to notice. Pros Without jumping from one platform to another and spending hours on web search, you can get useful data and templetes that you can see what's really going on and highlights that you are supposed to be aware of.
