Pros

It's very simple to use and all basic component, which you need to start and work are free of charges

Cons

\- calendar in channel manager to close out the channels is too much complicated - miss the connection to the google Hotel Ads - for the moment can be used only in UK, would be nice to use it over EU countries

### "Must be the best "

It has still never let us down and everythign works. They were very helpful on the telephone while I worked on the link to airbnb. I rang them several times over during 1 hour and it was always picked up staight away and I was helped and on my way again

Pros

We have just added the channel manager and connected to airbnb. Not sure how many bookings we will get through it but we just need a few gaps filling. The channel manager is well designed and easy to use. I would say a brilliant piece of software and once installed and set up and take all your prices including ones based on occupancy and length of stay through to airbnb. In fact it is just the price that would appear on your own site after they have entered number of people, dates and chosen room/cottage. You can then add a % so that your own site will always be cheaper. The messaging system in freetobook also works for airbnb as well. It means we use one of airbnbs schedul;ed messages but the rest of them we use from within freetobook. It means once set up we don't actually need to go into airbnb to manage our bookings or messaging.

Cons

Nothing really. It still does all we want and has never let us down. The help department are all lovely and helpfull and if you ring the phone is answered quickly. I have never had to wait

### "A lot of manual input"

There was a lot of manual input required for the "free" application.

Pros

I was able to manage my rooms. There was also a direct booking function.

Cons

The function to manage rooms on multiple platforms was expensive so I had to be on top of the bookings to ensure I didn't get double bookings. I could only put one room on an OTA and if I took a direct booking I had to ensure that the room was available and/or close it out on the OTA first.

Thanks for the feedback. I can see that you used the system just over three years ago for a short while and, as you mention, did not take up any of the chargeable services. The channel manager is the service that would have put an end to the manual inputting of third party bookings and risk of double booking. After an initial setup fee the only ongoing cost is #1 per booking made via the connected channels (so never your own bookings) and these are capped at a maximum of #49 per month. In quiet months like we have seen many of this year (2020 - covid) there have been MANY monthly invoices going out at #0... ZERO... all the while our usual support levels have been available for all customers and the system has not stopped doing what it does. If you'd like to give us another try and see all the features we've added since you left please get in touch with us!

This has been a godsend to our business, it's features are easy to use, understand and implement to our staff, the cost is inexpensive but if using a few OTA's I would definitely recommend the channel manager feature, it saves so much time and effort allowing us to concentrate on the guests instead of a computer

Nothing yet, so far I have nothing but praise for Freetobook and its care team.

With google sheets we had to enter details manually, and every time there was a change or a new entry this involved time and effort, the risk was massive especially with overbookings as we had very little control over it if a staff member didn't enter the details, we don't have this problem with Freetobook's channel manager, its an excellent service.

Freetobook Quite simply it works brilliantly The software is user friendly, intuitive to use and the training videos are idiot proof thank goodness! All my OTAs are in one place ensuring no double booking. Reports are easy to run and relevant for supporting business decisions. It sits beautifully in my website so no brand confusion for guests The team are terrific, helpful, quick to answer questions and they really partner to resolve any issues, even those not strictly within freetobook’s management Highly recommended

No problems and very happy with my experience, I see no reason to change my freetobook booking system in the foreseeable and the cost when i do compare to other options (even including all the extras added on) are still cheaper than the competition.

Pros

Its user friendly, I've never experiences a technical error in over 4 years, its easy to customise and adapt as the seasons, guests change and pricing ebbs and flows. It does what it is supposed to do and i can relax knowing my booking system 'just works'. The support is second to none with timely responses from the team.

Cons

Dynamic pricing and more OTA links would be a bonus but the team are constantly updating and improving with dynamic pricing coming on line soon and the ical link as a back up is useful.

### "Perfect solution for a small (or probably larger) business"

It runs the back end of our business, processes payments, keeps us in touch with customers and manages availability. It is an excellent tool and is priced to help business. Their online prescence is also excellent, working with partners (and how I wish some others knew what this is!) to make sure the right solutions are implemented.

Pros

Freetobook is easy to implement, simple to use but flexible enough that it can be customised for more complex needs. Support is fantastic and our business could not run without it.

Cons

Many features are chargeable add ons, but the core system is free - you get what you pay for. Would be nice if there was a simpler (all in) package, but would be complex to provide with the current model.

Pros

The range of features and add ons it had which makes the booking system automatic and stress free.

Cons

It could do with a feature where you can set up weekly pricing rates instead of just nightly and then have to set up discounts for different night stays

We ran a Guest House for 3 years and Freetobook were our Channel Manager. In the entire time we used them, they were absolutely fantastic. Any question/query we asked was quickly answered. We weren’t dealing with an “outsourced” customer service department, so everything was clear. It truly felt like a “partnership” rather than a service provider we used. When we sold our business, Freetobook made the transfer over to the new owners simple. All the other service providers we were using made the transition unbelievably difficult both for ourselves and the new owners. In our opinion you will never find a better Channel Manager than Freetobook. Awesome!

Pros

Simplicity to use and robustness of the product. Customer service was also exceptional

Cons

There is nothing I didn’t like about Freetobook.

Overall happy with it as serves me well - I haven’t looked at alternatives so not sure if it is the best out there in terms of functionality and value.

Pros

I was able to set it up and test, fine-tune and set live quickly without any previous website building experience

Cons

Calendar view options are not ideal and I’d love to have the more up to date functionality without having to use the daily pricing calendar.

Pros

Der Kundensupport ist genial und reagiert sehr schnell. Die Kosten sind sehr niedrig, was heutzutage in diesem Bereich selten ist. Wer Zusatzfunktionen will, kann diese dazu kaufen.

Cons

Ein wenig unübetsichtlich aufgebaut und nur in englischer Sprache.

I have had a very positive experience using Freetobook who I changed my business to during Covid lockdown as my current provider had me locked into a contract whilst during that time I had no income.With Freetobook if I do not earn I do not pay. No hidden charges and a simple comprehensive system with great customer support

Pros

The system is designed so that someone with limited digital knowledge can easily navigate the system

Cons

Nothing I have had no problem at all with the software

All our bookings are made using Freetobook. Most happen online from our own website but occasionally we add a manual booking that comes in over the phone. Both routes work absolutely fine.

Pros

100% reliability. No downtime that I have been aware of. The booking system itself is completely free. Good value card management link with Stripe that has also worked flawlessly over the 18 months I have been using it.

Cons

The graphics of the interface are rather dated but I'm all about functionality so that really doesn't bother me.

Primary benefit is the customer service, it is easy to get help when it is needed. following close behind is the cost, I only pay for add-on features and the price of those is reasonable.

Pros

Easy to transition from previous software and easy to use. I pay for what I need.

Cons

I have not come across any cons that have not been dealt with promptly.

Hi Matt, I realise that this review is very old (I've only just come across this site today - Nov 2020) but I can see that you have an account since March 2019 and logged in as recently as yesterday so I guess whatever the problem was has been well and truly resolved by now. :)
