The features they have included in the theme just shows how much they have thought from a user point of view and the team made sure that the user should have an incredible user experience. They have tweaked the design and features as per user suggestion. They actually hear out user's suggestion which is amazing. The support team are more helpful and they are always there to guide you in the right direction while setting up the whole theme. I love the way they offer a separate custom work team, which reassures that I don't want to settle with something that I am not satisfied completely. Instead, they give the liberty of customising the theme, which is simply great. I would totally recommend this theme for a complete directory solution, as this theme is filled with enormous features that would take any directory oriented business idea to the next level. I've asked for a refund, but they have rejected it. Pros Nothing. After installing the theme, my WordPress hosting provider's vulnerability scan has detected serious security issues in their ListingPro plugin. I cannot use themes and plugins with serious security issues. Cons My WordPress hosting provider's vulnerability scan has found serious security issues in their ListingPro plugin, e.g. among others critical SQL injection problems. It gave a CVSS rating of 10 (worst). According to WPscan there is no known fix (see https://wpscan.com/plugin/listingpro-plugin/). Pros I do not know any coding about I can use it conveniently. It's easy to use with very clear instructions. It has lots of feature. Cons There are some limitations that I noticed. 1. It does not support many popular booking app/software especially booking calander and woo commerce. IIt's difficult to imagine a listing site without a booking app. The options presently available are subscription based for every listed user which makes it difficult to offer booking feature in combination with listing features. You should think about adding the booking calander in it or allow other popular apps to sync. 2. The wp paid templates, the designs could have been better and few more choices. CEO Hospitality Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great Idea, 80% There" April 10, 2020 4.0 Pros Overall, this is a full featured theme that will allow you to quickly (if you have a custom WordPress coder on hand) launch a listing website at an affordable price. But beware that you really will need an accomplished WordPress coder to get this up and running successfully. Cons There appear to be numerous code errors that pop up randomly after installing and trying to run it. I understand it's a large theme with considerable complexities. My biggest concerns are 1) there are numerous typos and grammatical errors in public facing theme elements (like buttons, quick tips, pop ups, and instructional elements) but it's nearly impossible to fix these without diving deep into the code, and 2) when there is an error or issue, getting support can take considerable effort. The team is in India (which explains some of the English language issues due to language translation and cultural understanding of terms), but when it takes 3-4 days to resolve each individual issue when it comes up: post a ticket, wait overnight for an answer that's probably going to be "check with someone else", clarify the issue again with further documentation after checking with other people, they run a further test and discover an issue, they post a response, you try to resolve it using instructions that aren't complete enough only to discover that something was close but not quite right in their instructions, and then you can fix it or just try to develop a work around for it. Would purchase again. Pros The support is stellar. Very, very strong. This is huge plus as building a directory may require you to contact support. There are a lot of features, but less in terms of customization - meaning how things can be displayed on the pages. If you are looking for a robust local directory plugin, this will certainly do the job. It has all the features you need or would be looking for in a plugin. Cons I don't like that this plugin relies on another plugin that I cannot update without the support team at WP Listing Pro. I also don't like the lack of customizations. March 12, 2021 4.0 ListingPro is really useful to promote small business that do not have the budget or demand to purchase a website and don't want to be restricted just to using social media profiles. Pros I really like that ListingPro doesn't require Woocommerce to start with. Also that all listing features are useful and that the documentation provided some basic understanding on what's the theme features are about. Also, I really like the "autofill" feature for new listings. Cons Everytime ListingPro is updated, something that was working fine breaks down and it goes and goes around and the only real solution is to revert back to a previous version of listingPro. Autocomplete on Google (Fill-o-Bot) picks results from all over the world and this problem persists on different updates from ListingPro. Support wasn't able to fix the issue on multiple times I've opened tickets, and also there's two communities on Facebook that face the exact same problem. I even contacted the Google Platform about it and there's nothing they could do but to point out that the theme might not be compatible with "bounds" or "country restrictions". The fact that App View and App View 2 are so broken that most people have to set the theme to be in responsive mode. But in responsive mode, depending on the screen size of the user, they cannot see administrative functions on the user dashboard as the theme isn't 100% responsive. (If screen size is less than 460px the user has a really difficult time). The fact that the theme displays the username everywhere isn't safe and impracticable. Why not show user nickname or first\_name by default? Every update here we are changing dozens of lines of code across different files just so that our users can be identified by their names, not by a large string. ListingPro needs to be updated to use FontAwesome 6 icons. Lastly, the fact that Loco Translate doesn't pick up a bunch of strings, specially on receipts and on the theme dashboard. You can set up a directory website in just 2-3 minutes. And the author dashboard. This means the users will have complete analysis data of their business performance and they can it is made for Do it Yourself (DIY). This means every business owner can easily manage, edit, publish their business listing. Also, they can reply from the dashboard and for the directory owners, the listingpro theme has five different options inbuilt to make money from it like selling a subscription, Adsense, AdSpace, featured, Claimed, etc. Also, it can be used in any language or it is also easily translated. Listingpro also has a big and active community on Facebook, where everyone will get solutions to their problem. So, no coding required. Another thing is they are updating the theme frequently. So, every time they add new features. Cons 8\. Reporting of Listings This is one feature I actually do not like how it works. Imagine that when I go on the website, I report your listing and it goes off the website, when I gave no reason why I am reporting it. I want to suggest that you revamp this feature to work as supposed i.e. user must logged in to report a listing and the sign in pop should appear is user is not but wants to report a listing, and whenever a user is to do a report, a text box should be made available for the user to state reasons. When that is done, admins should get a notification. Admins can reach out to the listing owner to discuss the report if negative and admins can determine if to pull down the listing or consider having it on the website. 9. More Than 1 Placements Try running an ad campaign selecting placements A + B for first listing (it will say A B instead of A and B had been activated on your listing) and select all three placements A + B + C for second listing (it will say A B C instead of A, B and C had been activated on your listing) or read the e-mails you will get to know exactly what I am talking about. 10. Dashboard Alerts I wonder if this feature is working because I have never gotten any alerts whatsoever on the right side designed for this feature since I had started using the theme. April 11, 2020 4.0 My experience with ListingProWP was similar to other products I have tried. Like Brilliant Directory this software takes you down a one way path; connecting the products you display directly to a paid membership plan. The business model of a Directory is the more companies pay, the more information about their product they can advertise. The Directory owner just becomes a passive platform where companies display their wares. This may well suit a lot of people. In the end I realised that it didn't' suit me. Pros Out of the box this software looks good and the basic functions are relatively straightforward to use. I was able to set up categories, tags, products and home page myself. However I did need assistance from a developer to configure google maps, Stripe and Paypal. The software is affordable and meets it's promises. If your needs are very simple, then this software will work well for you. However expect to require a developer to assist with location, payment portals, user registrations and managing levels of subscriptions. Cons Like all the directory themes and plugins that I have tried, ListingProWP is rigid and inflexible. The software does exactly what it states it is. However I found that it was unable to meet my needs and have since moved on to another product. I've not got the typical website developer skillset; I'm in marketing. Still I was able to purchase, setup, and launch in less than 2 weeks, and that included populating all of the initial listings manually myself. The community has been very supportive and helped me figure out extra functionality since, and the official support team has been very responsive when I needed help. Cons I'm not a developer so I'm unfamiliar with the backend; when I've needed to have advanced help I've been told that the backend contains some unusual code. I'm not able to verify that though. Pros I like that the software works and I'm having little issues keeping the software working properly.The possibilities are good and I'm having a good time making it work with what I'm needing to do with the software. Cons There are a lot of issues with control of local listings. I would like to see more options for the users to only see local search listings. I've been testing a lot of different ways to keep local users finding only local listings. I'm working with venues with meeting rooms to book to wedding, pharmaceutical & corporate users to find meeting spaces. I would like them to be able to search by meeting room seating ability and options needed at the venue as well as food choices. Web Designer Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Lost in the features" April 11, 2020 2.0 When it first launched it was a stable product, but as it continued to update those updates were not optimized and full of bugs, having support work on the actual installation and not in the next release meant that everything that it was done in it was lost and back to square one, I wrote a long post on the facebook group regarding this and my recommendations, first optimize what you have, then after making sure everything was working properly then add the features, you can't and shouldn't use your customer as beta testers for a paid product that doesn't work and refuse to support it after six months and an extra six months of paid support, to have a web site that never launched, at the end i got tired of wasting my time with listingpro, and uninstalled it, a lot of potential but lack of planning and organization, i can't recommend it in good faith. Pros What I love most about ListingPro are the features it provides the backend user when they signup. The dashboard has so much information, that the end user doesn't need to have analytics add, all they have to do is signup and they can see how well their listing is doing. Cons What I like least is the inability for ListingPro to adapt Woocommerce features. I learned the hard way that ListingPro does not work effectively with Woocommerce. If you want to sell items, outside of ListingPro, the website gets all wacky and doesn't work correctly. Reason for choosing ListingProWP I chose ListingPro over both of these great directory themes, for ease of use. The learning curve for the end user is far easier when using ListingPro.
