We use it daily to manage our service routes, create and send invoices, generate quotes, and keep our business organized in one streamlined system. The platform is extremely user friendly, and whenever I’ve had questions, the help videos, blog resources, and support tools have made it easy to find answers quickly. Since switching to Skimmer, our scheduling is more efficient, our communication with customers has improved, and our overall workflow is more organized. Pros I love that I get to talk to a real person when I call in and they take consideration of my problem or solution needs professionally and with great curtesy. Cons Very rarely, I run into something I need to be able to do from the app versus the web interface, but I usually can call and see if there is a better way to do it. Any issue I have had has been solved quickly by the help team. Our simple, family business has been able to expand our reach with the ease of having Skimmer as a tool. Pros Cusomee service is top notch. Even when the questions seem silly they still take the time to help and explain! I also live the ease of use, I still have some learning to do but for the most part it makes day to day managament that much smoother. It's helpful in keeping track of technicians throughout the day and give a better estimate to clients when they ask. Cons The fact that I never have enough time to learn it all. There are so many helpful videos, I just need to take the time to work through them. They know when I'm on my way & when I've been there, what services I provided, and what time I left. On top of all that, Skimmer has a feature where you can take photos of the pool. I also take a photo of their closed gate so we both have proof I didn't leave the gate open. I love Skimmer. I love it. I can't imagine not having it. Pros I love how customizable and convenient it is, I love the all the features, reporting, customer communications, I love the checklists, I love how I can flag certain things a required for each stop, I love the route builder. I love the fact that my customers know when I'm on my way to their pool, they know when I leave, they know what services I performed while I was there, and not only do they get a text when I finish, but they also get an e-mail containing a detailed report along with photos of their sparling clean pool! I love it. I love the whole thing! I can't think of a single negative thing to say. If you don't have Skimmer, GET IT! Trust me. You'll love it. Cons There are no cons. Skimmer is a game changer. Has brought me to a level in my pool career that I thought I would never reach from the office to the chemical testing in the field. Complete game changer. Pros I’ve used the platform for over four years now, one of my favorite features would have to be the versatility in the field with the admin capabilities, creating work orders adding new customers. Cons Minor issues with the billing, I would like to be able to invoice right from any work order and be able to have the system know if the client is auto pay available or not. Having to set up a specific work order to draw auto pay can be time consuming and difficult for different customers. I think that Skimmer is growing and will be the go-to for pool companies. They work hard to keep up with the industry. Pros Skimmer is a great value for the money. It is easy to use for routes, route assignments, billing, and quotes. There are lots of independent training videos. I also love the live trainings you can register for that keep up with the industry. Skimmer stays up to date and cutting edge. They are always upgrading and have excellent customer support. Cons The reporting is a little difficult to navigate. Exporting features, like exporting the customer list to Excel, so it can be used in a CRM or for mailers. Cons The fact that it is an app is a double edged sword, it is easy to use, but like any app, sometimes has its glitches that can be frustrating. Pros The ease of using the program, and how all the functions and labels are laid out. Its very easy to find what you're looking for. Cons Some of the invoice and quote functions don't have a remainder counter, so when someone makes a down payment we cant just send the remainder and have to do math. There's always something new being added and they listen to their customers as well which helps guide how the app ios developed. Cons It still has some room to grow. I don't like how you can't actually delete locations from customer profiles. I've had to figure out a way to mark them "deleted" once a property manager sells a house. It makes it very easy too design routes and optimize. My service day. Not to mention, I do all of my invoicing, and billing through the app. Pros I like that, It's an all in one encompassing service app. It allows me to focus on the job while providing a detailed report. And my customers enjoy the peace of mind that comes from that. Alit of times they may not be home. Receiving a report along with the photos and chemical readings. It's very reassuring to a customer that has endured poor service in the past. The billing also makes it very easy for both Invoicing and the customers to pay. Been using Skimmer for some time, I even invoiced through skimmer at one point. Then skimmer got greedy $$$$. Why would I want to text my clients from the Skimmer app, I get free text on my phone! Now I've been told my per pool monthly fee is going from $1 to $2 a 100% rise, guess what Skimmer, NO ITS NOT! I have just signed with www.poolservice.software. I used this program today on my route and its impressive, I'm putting all my clients (129) over to PSS. Pros Ease of use. Ease of customizing. easy to download. Cons Price rise of 100%. Slow to update after each entry. Cant run on multiple devices. They keep adding stuff that is not relevant, it is complicating and crowding what was a perfect app. If I need to text a clients I'll do it on my phone, Skimmer charges for each text. November 20, 2025 5.0 I've been to multiple companies in the last 15 years - and none of them have had a CRM module or software setup that has been as intuitive and easy as Skimmer is in the pool industry. Pros The workflow improvements have been great - LOVE the new Jobs tab that allows you to see the entire job from Quote - to Approved Quote - to Work Orders (Completed Work Orders/Total Work Orders) - to Invoicing. So helpful to have everything on the same screen. Customer management is also extremely easy. Cons I'm still exploring Skimmer - as I'm new to it - and new to the pool industry. Skimmer has empowered me to be more professional and efficient. Pros Created and optimized my route to be most efficient. Then I can create and track all work orders, parts added, chemicals added, and populate invoices accordingly, then collect payment all in the one app. Cons I’m still learning how to better utilize the shopping list, items needed on work orders. I still need a notepad to take into the supply house when buying parts because I haven’t figured out how to effectively and efficiently sort through those features while in store.
