Overall, I'm very pleased with Skimmer. Their customer support is always quick to answer our questions. Our clients have overwhelmingly responded positively with the professional look of the reports and love the pictures.

Pros

Skimmer helps me streamline my routes so my guys and I can all see what the tasks are for the day. Price is reasonable and pools that aren't visited in the billing month don't cost us any money. I love that I can set pictures to be mandatory for different job types.

Cons

The autopay feature only seems to work for routine work and not for work orders. Clients don't like having to pay manually after signing up for autopay.

Hi Jake! Thanks for the fantastic feedback. You're correct, work orders cannot currently be automatically paid, however, if your customer has a card on file and has given their approval for autopay, you can manually process the payment using the card on file. To do this, go to the invoice, select "More", then "Add Payment," "Online Payment," and choose which card on file to charge. Hope that helps! :)

Pros

We like just about everything this app has to offer for our company. We highly suggest that all Pool Cleaning Services out there, big or small, consider trying this app out. They recently integrated billing, and will soon be integrating estimates and quotes from the mobile app as well. We are eager to try them out after the success we have had with all other aspects of the system so far.

Cons

I am hoping that with estimates and quotes getting worked on, that the price-book will become more comprehensive within the system. We would like to be able to present estimates with pictures along with maybe integrating finance companies for our customer to utilize to help pay for remodels or bigger repairs.

Ease of setup, implementation, and use. Skimmer hs been key to the growth of my business and their customer service representatives go above and beyond to help with any issues that may arise!

Cons

The lack of billing and invoicing support through the mobile app. Also, I really wish Skimmer would make it easier for us to do prior-to-service ormonth ahead invoicing for all of our regular service customers.

My overall experience with skimmer has been amazing, it has saved me hours and billing and invoices. It has made my clients trust our company knowing that the job is getting done properly by the weekly service reports. The ease of scheduling, repairs and work orders and dispatching techs is awesome. And their customer service is hands down, One of the best I've ever dealt with!

Pros

Skimmer is very efficient, and at the price for what it delivers cannot be beat!

Cons

There is a bug I would like to be addressed in the billing section. Where I do charge some of my clients convenience fees for using online payments,I would like to be able to save that for a future use.

And as well of having the most caveman app ive seen hands on, it is the least smooth working app ever unless you watch the 50 videos begining to end. Skimmer has such ease to it that i havent watched one single tutorial video. Just my phone call about the new billing and a friend showing me how he uses his and i was learning all the rest on my own! Super simple!

I would like to see an easier way to see the data from chemical logs. If I suspect a leak I would like to see a chart showing salt and CYA levels over the course of a few months. This may already be implemented…

Pros

Skimmer has multiple features that have helped streamline service, as well as customer service. Having a report sent to the consumer each week with information on their service as well as multiple pictures of the pool has helped reduce the amount of calls into the office.Skimmers customer support team is great. They almost always answer the phone right away, if not they give you a call right back. They are very friendly and helpful when you have questions on any functionality of the app. They are also up to suggestions on how to improve the app with upcoming updates.

Cons

There are a few things that we hope to see skimmer add. Mostly in the repairs department.The ability to unfinish jobs on the computer rather than just on the phone.The ability to have one single work-order that has multiple stops if it's not finished on the first visit.A category for Estimate Sent, or maybe Waiting For Approval. Rather than just Finished and Unfinished.

We've been with skimmer for almost 7 years. We've grown with the software and love all the new changes and updates it brings. Overall very happy with the app.

Pros

Ease of use, scheduling billing history etc is all straight forward. Only thing being in a vacation rental industry would be allowing a calander drag and drop style setup would be a little easier but we're a small part of the pool service market so I understand.

Occasional freeze or glitch typically when taking photos

Unfortunately skimmer app is no longer a leader in the pool service software world. Pricing has quadrupled over the last 5 years, when I started using the app everything was included at one nice affordable price, now the price is astronomical and doesn’t make sense. Skimmer has addressed this issue by offering a low level version but they remove all of the cool and super useful features that made the app great forcing me to use the competitors.

Pros

Skimmer is a good app and easy to use, it has some decent features especially with a team of pool professionals.

Cons

Customer support has gone down hill, pricing has spiked in a world of free apps, not sure how much longer skimmer will be around at the prices they charge.

My overall experience with skimmer has been great.

Pros

I like being able to run my service business in it's entirety in Skimmer. From route scheduling, service and repairs I have found skimmer extremely helpful and keeps your techs in line and on time.

Cons

Occasionally I have had to restart my phone when out in the field or close the app and open again. It does it only when I/we take a picture of the pool or repair it will kick you back out and most times you would have to restart. On my laptop I have had Zero issues and everything works good.

They seem to be consistently doing updates and customer service has been great. I tried several programs for this and even tried one while simultaneously using Skimmer. In my opinion Skimmer was by far the best.

Pros

Fantastic interface for the technician. Routes determined for efficiency and a customizable checklist for the tech. Professional emails sent for the client. "Did they even show up this week? What am i paying for?" This never happens now that we use Skimmer. This is also built for the pool pro and not an add on to other software.

Cons

Settup and client entry are easy. But adding chemical dosage values on setup is a pain. There are plenty of help videos and they are very gast to respond with help so perhaps i need to just ask. But i find it hard to track additional maintenance opertunities. I wish they popped up on my dashboard so i was reminded to order parts now. Wish LSI was built in. But all and all they are fixing and developing constantly. Im impressed with the software.

I rate SKIMMER 10/10 across the board. Not only is the product amazing, their customer service is next level. I have never reached out to them and been disappointed with the result. Any issues (most self inflicted) has been handled quickly and with a smile on their face. This is what every service based company should aim for.

Pros

I really have no complaints about SKIMMER. It has allowed me to minimize the tedious tasks that I was handling. I have moved just about every aspect of my company over to SKIMMER in some form or fashion. From maintenance routes and service calls to everyday scheduling (regardless of what it is for). I couldn't do what I do in a day without SKIMMER

Cons

What I like least about SKIMMER is I didn't find it sooner. I have been using them for I believe close to 4 years now. Just in the first month of use, I noticed a dramatic decrease in missed tasks, or overlooked issues.

Pros

I like that it keeps communication clear and in one place, it allows for many notes to be inputted along with photos, so we can get serial numbers, or show clients things that need to be fixed. It eliminates the "loosing" of paper notes, and keeps everyone on the same page.

Cons

There are times it messes with the route techs that do regular services start and finish times, making it difficult to know exactly how long they were at a property.

It's not over complicated and it's very "human", the pool industry is a bunch of 10 point words that no one really has an answer too without googling it. With skimmer if you have good training and are certified in your department. It's straight from the book and simple. Building your company with this program has changed my life, and truly made me live out my dream. If Skimmer endorsed us, I'd probably pass out. Haha, thank you guys for all of your hard work. Keeping things simple in the world right now is hard, and you guys have nailed it.

Pros

The RECORDKEEPING is phenomenal, if you use this software correctly you can literally have no loose ends when a customer or any employee disputes something. Skimmer covers all of our "evidence" on all repairs, cleans, before and after pictures with captions for our service guys has been a game changer. Our sales in repairs are through the roof because of it, when the customer sees the repair tech send photos of detailed issues with parts, and is then able to explain why is massive.

Cons

Having to email the work order to complete the job is awful, to be frank we have 100's of work orders completed but the customers don't want an email from a repair when they are already getting pool cleaning emails, and invoices after.

### "The best way to go for a pool service company."

It has greatly improved our business and took us from pen and paper to a professional pool service company.

Pros

Skimmer has brought us up to speed with technology. The features streamlined our business with a customer database, route tracking, work order tracking, routine maintenance tracking and lots of other niche features. Most recently, the Skimmer integrated invoicing has already relieved many headaches with QBO. Their team has been very receptive to feedback more recently and I look forward to seeing the Skimmer team build on more great ideas.

Cons

I feel as though the work orders section for automating the repair side of our business could use a lot of work but we are able to make it work for our small sized business...I can't see it working effectively for a large company. More customization in general within Skimmer to mold the software around your business would set them apart and allow for companies to grow into the software adding features they need over time.

Looked intuitive to teach my techs and a good team behind the product that cared about what they were making. Price was reasonable. Allowed us to accomplish our goals.

I called tech support recently and \[sensitive content hidden\] provided exceptional service. He was knowledgeable, and patient, and resolved my issue efficiently. \[sensitive content hidden\] actively listened, offered clear instructions, and ensured I understood the steps. It was a positive experience, and his excellent service left me satisfied, impressed, and the biggest cheerleader in the world for Skimmer.

Pros

One of the stand-out features that I like the most about Skimmer - aside from all the amazing functions that the program offers is customer support. When I have a question or need help, I am no more than 5 minutes away from an answer, help, clarity, and always - the solution. Calling their customer support line is the most rewarding call you will ever make to tech support. Even if you don't get a tech on the line when you call, they call you right back!

Cons

There are two major things that I would say I like the least - but they are features that Skimmer doesn't have yet. 1. you can't carry a credit on the customer's account and 2. work orders are not automatically paid for customers who are on autopay.

Reason for choosing Skimmer

We chose Skimmer over other alternative products because Skimmer was written by pool pros for pool pros about being a pool pro. Skimmer cuts out the mess and nuisance of using technology. There's nothing comparable to what Skimmer offers for their customers. When the Skimmer developers make changes or updates or launch new versions of the software, these decisions are made, tested, and refined by listening to pool professionals. This is truly unique and stands out among any other competitor.

Having the historical data has been a huge change for our business. We are able to establish sales goals and actually monitor them with the data we obtain through Skimmer. Also, our customer communication, from the service emails to the broadcast email feature, we have stepped up our transparency and made our business much more professional.

Pros

Where do I start? From the finance and admin perspective, I love being able to use the historical data to calculate fair rates and wages. I love to be able to see profit margins and skipped stops. And it is very affordable. From a customer relations perspective, people rave about our service emails. They love receiving pictures and their chemical numbers. It helps us maintain communication between technicians and customers. From a functionality perspective, it is reliable!! Glitches are rare and if they ever happen customer service is all over it. I love that I feel comfortable emailing customer service with enhancement suggestions and they are able to even let me know in a very timely manner if a feature is already in the queue. This application has changed the course of our business and continue to impress us when they roll out updates and enhancements.

Cons

Having come from the world of software development, I know enhancements are prioritized and they take time...a lot of time. I would prefer the exporting of invoices to Quickbooks be more robust so more than a small batch can be exported at a time, but I also recognize that the efforts were put into getting the application to be our sole source of invoicing. If I could easily manage the bookkeeping side within skimmer that would be perfect. I also use a third party company for our merchant services and get better rates through that company than if I were to take payments through Skimmer. I would love to have Skimmer be our only application in the future, but these needs must be met before I make the move. I'll be patient!

Reason for choosing Skimmer

It was the low price that grabbed us. It seemed like a low-risk trial. It continues to be affordable.

Love using skimmer , just keep skimming!

Pros

Easy of use. Skimmer is very tech friendly, from service side of the app for the tech or from \[sensitive content hidden\] side. All aspects of using skimmer come naturally and with great ease.

Cons

I wish I could share jobs to different companies without having to set them up on my skimmer profile. If I could assign a job to someone who has there own skimmer account would be a great addition.

Pros

Skimmer is very user friendly and offers a variety of features that help plan and organize work. The desktop version offers the most customization and allows me to customize routes in very specific ways. Additionally, Skimmer allows me to store all of my customers information I need to properly provide services including but not limited to specific pool equipment (w/pictures), billing and physical addresses, gate codes, and services history. The Skimmer mobile app is very easy to use as well and links to my phones map/navigation app. So, when I have a new customer who's pool location is new to me, I can click on the account and the Skimmer app will tell my maps/nav app the address and route me to the account. I also like the automated email feature. When I complete a service, a email is automatically generated and sent to the account I just serviced. You don't have to use this feature. But its customizable and all of my customers love it! It also helps that Skimmer has great customer service. The support team is very nice, professional, and are great communicators. I have received help from Anesa and she has been great. Skimmer has helped me tremendously. I highly recommend this software!

Cons

I have no complaints, so far. Admittedly, I haven’t used every single feature, but I have used most.
