Overall, Google Analytics have been really helpful in getting our business started. It was to understand where our customers came from and it also threw some insight into what their general pattern of browsing looked like. It has helped us to better spread our content over a wider population without the need to implement expensive servers to handle the traffic.

Pros

Setting up and implementing it on our website was one of the easiest things to do. Google Analytics makes it easy to pool in the large data resources available to Google and find out where our audience comes from.

Cons

After a certain limit is reached, Google only provides a data based on a sample size. While this may be enough for a hobby site, it becomes ineffective when trying to understand specific customer needs.

I am sure when it is implemented correctly and when the users are trained appropriately to use it things can be wonderful with it. I was self taught and relatively tech savvy, but I still struggle with aspects of it.

Pros

Powerful tool to effectively measure all facets of your web traffic. Great or eCommerce to break down campaigns and their effectiveness. Live traffic insights are pretty fun to watch especially when launching a new campaign or flash sale.

Cons

This is not easy to use nor easy to implement. We wonder everyday if we still even have it implemented correctly. It was added to our site long before any of our current staff were here so its a bit of a mystery and gives inconsistent data to what Magento is telling us for the same period.

I have used Google Analytics for over a year to track feature improvement for my product, which is a Chrome Extension. I currently track over 100 different CTAs through Google Analytics, which helps me make important decisions in real-time. In short, Google Analytics is an indispensable part of my job. I strongly recommend it.

Pros

I really like the ability to tag specific actions on your site as events and then easily track event progress through easy to use graphs. As a Product Manager, after releasing a new feature or feature enhancement, I can immediately see the results. Further, I can easily export these results to Excel so I can share with the rest of the organization.

Cons

I wish I had the ability to easily report on year over year (YoY) metrics for the events I referenced earlier. It would be really nice to launch a new feature enhancement in January, 2021 and then automatically see how the feature did in January, 2020. I can get this information by looking at the data separately and then comparing, but it would be nice if YoY functionality was included (and to the best of my knowledge, it's not currently part of Google Analytics).

I have been using this tool for a long time. We have our data in GCP and it has a good integration with the google cloud platform. We use it to get insights about our customers, the times they visited our site, the number of clicks, information searched etc. All this data is very useful to us for making decisions.

Pros

Google analytics is one of the best tools available which anyone can utilize to boost their marketing and sales as it gives great insights to your data. It's not a difficult application with a very small learning curve. There are so many tools available like filters and data visualization tools which can help in getting insights.

Cons

I only find a little confusing between different types of campaigns and keywords. There are some minor limitations which are being addressed with the updates.

It's been incredibly useful to understand where the weak points in the site are and to understand how various marketing projects are affecting website traffic.

Pros

It's a hugely useful tool with an incredible amount of data, and the best thing is that it's completely free! If you keep digging there is so much information that Google is able to take from your website and you can use it to improve almost all aspects of your site's usability.

Cons

It's really complicated and intimidating for inexperienced users. You have to be able to know what you're looking for and how to find it - you can't just jump in and find some info that might be useful. You can do courses for free that are offered by Google to learn how to use it better.

Cons

If heatmaps is provided in google analytics it will be really helpful for the owner to analyze more about his product and if its is interlinked with search console alike adwords it would be more easy for the user to analyze the search queries and site or app traffic.

I use Google Analytics at least once a month to check on the status of several websites. It's comparison tool is helpful to see how I did versus last month. If I have a little more time, I might dig deeper to look at specific pages, try to understand what parts of the site are performing well. This gives me an idea of what type of content to focus on moving forward.

Pros

The amount of information Google Analytics provides is overwhelming for some. For free software, you can learn an incredible amount about your website/app, as well as your users. It's incredibly powerful and offers more data & reports than any other software out there. It also loads pretty fast, considering all the information it is processing & displaying, and in the many different ways it can be viewed (lists, graphs, comparisons, etc.). There are many plugins & integrations for different site building tools, so it's pretty easy to install and start collecting data, no matter what platform your site is built with. It's also highly customizable, so if you know what you're doing, you can create dashboards that display just the information you're concerned with.

Cons

It can be overwhelming for beginners... sometimes even for seasoned web designers. There's SO much information that it's often hard to know where to look. It would be nice if they started you off with a more understandable Dashboard, or gave you some pointers on the screen to explain where things are and how to get started.

Compared to GA4, GA360 may actually feel a little dated, but if I had the option, I'd rather still use GA/GA360

Pros

We have a website with a large traffic, so with GA360 we can analyze data without sampling (extended limit for pageview)

Cons

Price. Cost of the premium version is really high.

I have used Google Analytics for more than 4 years on different client websites and it has evolved from the tool that measured things but didn't give you useful insights right away, into a tool that does most of the hard work itself and then presents you with a deep yet simple overview of your website performance. The last additions and changes made in the past year work great to give you useful information from the tons of data it collects, so you can act on that information in less time. It still has very powerful metrics and analytics but setting all of them up takes lots of time and energy. It still has navigation issues especially when handling multiple properties or websites. Alongside Google DataStudio as an easier way to create reports and dashboards, it's a great service to keep track of analyitcs for most sites and apps.

Pros

The new interface is way more user-friendly. New dashboard gives you a great overview of your site stats, and you can customize it to your liking. "Insights" give you more nuanced information regarding page performance and other metrics without you having to set up tons of goals and filters.

Cons

Can still be cumbersome to navigate multiple sites and properties. Learning curve still steep.

Customization is always desired when working with multiple clients. This is an excellent tool for this! Everything can be set up to each clients desired KPIs

Sometimes the dashboard disconnects and requires a refresh but it isn’t frequent. Just have to have a little patiences

Google analytics is THE software every marketer must use to understand its customers, increase sales and improve the product. You can run an efficient online business without it.

Pros

It has ALL the functionalities you need and expect. You can see the different channels of acquisition, bounce rates, conversion funnel and everything you need to know how to keep customers engaged on your site. The free version is extremely complete.

Cons

Its not easy to use. There is definitely a learning curve. You need to learn some basic metrics to take advantage of the platform. Under acquisition channels, Social Media is treated as a single concept and it would be good to be able to divide it by social network to get clearer insights.

Pros

Google Analytics is fundamental to tracking site visits, conversions, traffic channels and attribution for basically any website you work with. Doing any SEO or PPC work you need to be in Google Analytics on a daily basis. There are tons of features that are super important, but even more that are niche specific. Really, if you have a website of any form you need Google Analytics, there is just so many valuable resources within this application.

Cons

I've run into a few issues where reports would fail to load if I was comparing large data sets and people have learned how to game the system and create false positive data from invalid sources. You can filter this, but it's a pain.

Well, in general, it is a very easy to use tool, it has all the components I need for information analysis, report execution and data visualization. I love it.

Pros

What I like most about this tool is that I can get really important information about my customers or suppliers, and I can run very well elaborated production reports and visualize the KPI's of my organization. It has numerous features and benefits that make it really great to use.

Cons

In my case, I have no problem with this tool, I really recommend it.

I liked almost everything about Google Anylitics, I think I'd have far more to say about Google Ads overall though.

Pros

It was very easy to install into your website with two extremely convenient methods along with partnerships with most major hosting platforms to make the process even easier. A lot simpler than adding Facebook Pixel, which serves essentially the same purpose for Facebook ads; although that wasn't a difficult process either. Good options for easy data analytics, however lacks the in depth information you can gather/organize from the aforementioned Facebook Pixel. Customer service, although located in Singapore and some other country, giving the initial impression that they were not going to be able to help you, quickly proved that to be untrue. Based off of the phone calls I received, they provided excellent and timely customer service regarding any issue with Google ads and although after about 30 minutes on the phone with the representative she said that at this time she wouldn't be able to resolve my issue but would further look into it. I've heard this line before, but it appears as if she actually did, as 8 hours later my account was updated to show that they found a way to resolve the issue. Best customer service I have received from any online company, ever. Now to be clear, this was not a call to or about Google Anylitics, but Google Ads overall.

Cons

It needs more ways (or at least more easily accessable and better explained) ways to get an in depth look at all possible statistics regarding visitors to your website, and allow the ability to export any generated spreadsheets to excel. This may already exist, but if it does, I was unable to locate it, so it should likely be more easily accessible.

Really satisfied, easy to use, fast, can get very complex as you needed to be or just the basic available.

Pros

\- short learning time for beginner - quick response in the UI compared to other competitor (i also use adobe analytics) - many customization, e.g. you can create custom audience segment, which is very detailed (some time can only see for 90days history), custom report, compared timeline - can connect to Google Ads - there are insight, but the AI are still far from usability other than basic information - many level of user administrations - free

Cons

\- some weird quirks, like you cant get page views in traffic channel - conversion recording can have different result between Google Ads and Analytics

My overall experience is positive, is useful, however, they could deliver a more granular solution. By keeping the whole community in "equal" terms, they just limit the more productive users to being capped to their will.

Pros

I like that is integrated with the Google Suite (i.e. Workspace) so you can keep everything organized.

Cons

Some workflows are not optimal, for example, keeping track of payments. Don't know why Google keep this non-clear practice.

I've been using Google Analytics for my personal business for the past several years since 2015. I'm not just a small business owner, but I'm also a YouTuber! Google Analytics has overall made it very easy to select what kind of ads I want and specific keywords that will get people to watch and/or click on ads. Highly recommend not just for small business owners, but for anyone who's a streamer as well!

Pros

At first it was a bit overwhelming, only because the layout and software was so brand new to me! But going through the tutorials (and customer service), and doing the same steps over and over again, the system is fairly easy to understand and master. The actual measurement of when ads did well versus when they did poorly is clearly displayed and I can figure out what went wrong and how to rectify it for future uses.

Cons

It takes time to learn the tools and how ads are placed, where they're placed, what kind of ads, etc. But they have a handy guide and great customer service to help out with any questions I may have. I'm also not fond of the threshold payment rule. Meaning, you have to meet a $100+ threshold to even get what you earn in ad revenue.

Using Google Analytics is a no-brainer. It's probably not the most up-to-date system available for website analytics, but given its price and constant updates, who can choose anything else? It's a godsend when you do have it installed and use it to show data to a client. In conjunction with Google Tag Manager, it makes and SEO-er's life a bliss. Highly recommended!

Pros

\- Great for experts and hardcore data nerds. - You can create graphs, integrate with other systems, expand upon it, export data and so much more. - The price is simply unbeatable: it's free!

Cons

\- It tends to change a lot. Both in interface and how things are counted and measured. - Hard to start with, as a beginner. - Doesn't really come with a user manual and it's a very dense system to work with.

Google analytics have assisted me in the optimizations of hundreds of campaigns as we target and create remarketing lists on a day to day basis. Without Analytics, PPC would be times harder as we would be searching in the dark as opposed to actually seeing the fruits of our labor by knowing the bounce rate of users achieved via different channels, where these users went after clicking on an ad, how long the user spent, where the user was from, etc.

Cons

Time to mastery trade-off Be warned, this software will require plenty of research and learning to really uncover the true actionable insights. Prone to User Error - Relies on properly tagged properties.

At the beginning I was addicted to it, checking everyday visits. Later I feel that I need to be addicted again and really learn to take valuable conclusions from it.

Pros

I like that it is a free tool that gives plenty of information from where to extract well based decisions about what to do next. I see how experts create great reports and add extra functionalities from a market place. I feel lucky to have this tool for free. At the same time, I have the feeling that if I do not make a course and work hard with a good course, I can not get the valuable data insights that are needed to take everyday simple decisions, kind of how well is really doing a blog post according several measures, what do individual people samples when visiting the site, or a more visual view. My option now is to complement with other tools (for heatmaps, funnels, ppc analytics, etc) and study harder this tool.

Cons

At the beginning I uninstalled because I thought that it made slower my site. Later installed with Tag Manager and works great. It is my next professional challenge.

Details like sessions, visitors, bounce rate, demographics and devices adds extra insight to your business and you can take better marketing and advertising decisions based on these reports.

Cons

Some of the advance features like Goals, event tracking are little complex to activate, a little extra knowledge sharing articles might can help users to manage those part as well. Some video training can also help in fixing those complex functionality of platform.
