Pros

We use Google Analytics to track all the activity on our site. It's crazy that software this good is free.

Cons

It can be tricky to use and takes months/years of learning to really get value out of all the functionality. A more user-friendly way of understanding the data it tracks would be beneficial, especially for new users.

Reason for choosing Google Analytics 360

Oribi is expensive and we're not quite ready for something like that yet.

I have used Google Analytics for multiple websites for clients as well as for our Go To Market efforts and found it to be great. We have been able to understand who is driving traffic, know which partners refer visitors to us and adjust our marketing accordingly. It's part of our weekly discussions into our priorities how we report on the successes of our strategies. It's a great tool that gets more useful the more you practice and learn.

Pros

Google Analytics includes a ton of options for insights into your website. You can track where traffic is coming from, what channels and tactics are yielding successful results and which are falling short. It's also free, which is fantastic for those who want to grow their skills in the tool or are just starting out as a business or marketer. For companies experimenting in driving traffic through multiple, unknown channels, this is the perfect way to track ROI back, edit assets and redeploy. Beginning on the tool is not overly intimidating and it's pretty user-friendly to pull basic data sets without getting buried in indecipherable information.

Cons

For the most part, I really enjoy Google Analytics and have few complaints. To go anywhere past a beginner-level of utilization, it does take some time to build your skills. You do need to have a basic knowledge of digital marketing and statistical terms to tell the proper story. While this is not included here, Google Data Studio is a separate tool and helps with the visualization of the data that Google Analytics provides. Same with Google Tag Manager so you have to use multiple tools to do different functions.

Overall Google Analytics has provided me with so much helpful information regarding my business. My experience using this software has been great. Anyone who has a website should definitely be tracking their data and see how well they are actually performing.

Pros

I like Google Analytics because it really gives me an in depth look into how well our website is performing. It is really key as a small business owner to see what works well and what helps to drive traffic and interaction with my website. Google Analytics provides so many reports and information that I wouldn't have even thought to track. It is very user friendly and a great resource for any one looking to understand how well their business is performing.

Cons

I do not have any cons for Google Analytics. I find the software very user friendly. It is a great tool and I love finding new ways to grow my business.

### "Good functionality, high learning curve"

I have several small, static, personal websites, and I simply use Google Analytics out of curiosity to see who visits my websites! The tool isn't optimized for users like me, but rather focus on businesses, making money, and driving traffic. The default views include a comparison of last week's traffic vs. this week's - but I absolutely do not care about this at all, as someone who updates my websites at best once every 3 months. Another example - there are default dashboards about making money, and sales, and conversion... again, things I don't care about as a casual user. The things I AM interested in - how did people find my website; what are their demographics (age, location) - are harder to get at. You actually have to opt-in to start collecting demographic data, and Google/Bing/other search terms that people put in to find your site are usually listed as "(not provided)". But hey, it's a free tool, that gives me some interesting information that I'm curious about, so I'm not complaining!

Pros

I love that this is a tool that offers a lot of really cool functionality for free. Honestly, I would expect such a tool to cost money, for the amount of benefit that it provides to people! I can't imagine being a business owner with a website in this day and age, and NOT using Google Analytics. It allows you to see what sort of people visit your website(s), when, why, and how, which you can then use to make a better experience for your customers and to make more money.

Cons

It is difficult to learn to use, for someone who is a novice to marketing and analytics, and NOT a business owner. Some of the default views are a bit incomprehensible, and require customization to get them into a state that is useful for your particular needs and interests. There are a lot of \[what I assume are\] marketing terms that you have to understand in order to know what you are looking at, so the first few hours of using the software will require some Googling and self-education.

Google Analytics is our primary method of analytic gathering for our team. We are able to review the traffic in real time wherever the team may be and then make the necessary changes so that we can continue to optimize and increase profitability.

Pros

Being able to see where the LIVE traffic is coming from is key for our team. We are able to optimize basically on the spot. This way we can target appropriately whether it be from a Facebook Campaign or even a Google Ads campaign. Being able to see where our users are coming from and what they are doing is key.

Cons

Creating a custom dashboard for us to view later takes some time and has a small learning curve. We are looking forward to this being improved in the future.

Google Analytics was initially free and had the quickest setup. Due to the extensive data available on the platform, we have not opted to replace it thus far.

Pros

The thing is really easy to use. Training somebody to use the basic capabilities for reporting requires just over a single day. I also like that it offers customer care; if I have any problems, I can use the chat feature to get help.

Cons

Data sampling may occur when users are in charge of very big websites or deal with a lot of traffic, which might affect how accurate the data is examined.

### "You're missing out if you aren't using Google Analytics"

Pros

Google Analytics is the only software you should be using to track website visits, time on site, bounce rate, and a whole bunch of information that you can use to improve your digital marketing and sales efforts. You use a plugin on your website (I use WordPress for all the sites I build), you set up your Google Analytics account - it's free to set up and use, and you connect your website plugin to your Analytics account. Wait a few days for it to start to collect meaningful data, and go into Google Analytics and review the information. Information is nothing if you don't know how to read it, however. Luckily the data is presented in a way that's easy to understand and interpret. With the information, you can work out which marketing efforts are having the most impact. Marketing is a "test and measure" activity. So you can try different marketing strategies with your, run them for maybe 2 months and look at Google Analytics to see what sort of impact your strategy is having in terms of website traffic, conversions and sales. It's essential in this current world of website-based and online-based businesses.

Cons

I wish there were more courses inside Google Analytics that train users to use the system. But I can't complain too much about that, because it's worthwhile for a business to get an expert in to consult and write reports.

Overall, it has been a positive experience. I have been able to customize the reports and data analysis tools to fit our specific needs. I have also been able to leverage that data to determine the cost value of advertising efforts from third parties vs our in house efforts. This has been particularly useful in evaluating paid social media advertising campaigns.

Pros

I love the ability to drill down to the tiniest levels to analyze web traffic sources. I find this particularly useful in evaluation f marketing and advertising campaigns specifically targeted at increasing our web traffic to specific portions of our website. I also really enjoy the feature that allows you track an individuals use of the website. It allows you to get an idea of how the site flows for each user and make adjustments based on a number of factors, including time on the site, or an individual page and bounce rates.

Cons

I found it incredibly difficult to navigate at first and had to seek alot of help from more experienced users to truly leverage the reporting and data analysis features of the program. It would be very helpful if the menus and reporting functions were more intuitive.

Pros

We're an enterprise product company and one of the most important aspects for us is to analyze the pattern of our users in terms of the screens (features) they're using/ visiting, the duration they're staying, location, peak time etc. Google Analytics not only help on just the above point but many more things which're extremely helpful to identify the customer behaviour to serve them better.

Cons

Hmm! That's the most difficult questions, especially when asked about Google Products. Google is always at par in terms of technology and innovation.

I’ve used it for over ten years and have seen it grow to the powerhouse it is today. Very excited to see where else it goes.

Pros

I like that google analytics is use is so widespread thus implementation to other services is easy. You are able to get valuable data that is updated in real time and easily exported. It helps me identify potential clients for future work.

Cons

Recently a change in a data set around network identification and ip has made it so that valuable information is no longer available. I relied heavily on this information and for it to be gone without warning is very disappointing and alarming. There is currently a work around but I wasn’t able to implement it properly.

I have been working on Google Analytics for a few years now and have seen the product mature greatly over the years. So far I feel GA is the best tool out there for the feature, functions and value it provides

Today, the cyberspace is dominated by Google and its products that each and every business uses it in some or the other form and so does the consumer. Therefore its a no-brainer to use Google Analytics to optimise how you’re business is attracting and retaining consumers on the internet. GA integrates across all Google suites and gives a comprehensive overview of what you should and shouldnt do to market your product/services to the global audience.

Cons

Like any software there are some limitations to features that might be better offered by a rival product.

Cons

My overall experience with Google analytics is using it for a variety of different clients. I use it to manually and automatically process and take in data. I have used it to display and show the current progress of campaigns we are in but also to evaluate and identify problems points and places for improvement.

Pros

I personally love Google Analytics. Of all the analytics tools I have used in the past, Google continues to provide one of the best tools. Besides the fact that many Google tools are free, this one has capabilities beyond many paid versions. It allows you to calculate and view your ROI from your marketing activities. It allows you to customize your views and share your dashboards. It also lets you customize how you view and process your data in a variety of ways. It makes it very easy to identify success and problem points.

Cons

I personally have zero issues with Google Analytics. It is much easier to find success when using this google tool when you are also using other Google capabilities marketing analytics tools.

Google Analytics gave me great insight into the demographics, behavior and flows of our visitors. It allows me track how succesfull social media campaigns are so we can continue to improve them.

Pros

Google Analytics (GA) is free\* to use and offers a ton of nice features. You can view your website visitors data in realtime, make visitor segments, track how many people visited your website in a certain timespan, how succesful your online campaigns are (Google Ads, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit,...), how your visitors browse your website (phone, tablet, computer) and more. Google Analytics is very easy to install, most online platforms like WordPress, Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, Magento and many others offer a plugin where you just need to add your GA user id and you're good to go. More advanced features like e-commerce data are also very easy to install and start tracking. you can use Google Data Studio to create stunning reports. It is a must have for every business owner with a website!

Cons

Google Analytics can be a bit overwhelming at first, because of the nearly endless possibilities. They do have starter guidance in the form of tutorials, but if you need more in-depth information you'll need to either browse the Google forums or just use Google or Youtube.

Google Analytics is a free program that can easily be implemented on your website to track organic, paid, referral and social traffic as well as user behaviours and goal completions. No business should run their website without analytics and Google offers a free solution that has a helpful overview dashboard so that even website administrators who aren't tech-savvy can understand their site traffic and engagement.

Cons

It does take some time to learn how to interpret the data, but Google has free courses (and a certification program) and the Chrome Extension "Tag Assistant" is a free, easy check to see if you've implemented Google Analytics correctly.
