Pros

Das Tool als zentrale CMDB für das Unternehmen ermöglicht einen strukturierten Überblick über die IT. Durch zahlreiche Schnittstellen lässt sich der Funktionsumfang der Software erweitern. Über die flexible Erweiterung durch Add-ons kann auch ein IT Service Management aufgebaut werden. Seit i-doit pro 1.19 gibt es auch eine moderne Benutzeroberfläche.

Cons

Es wäre gut, wenn zukünftig die Möglichkeit besteht, Verträge in i-doit automatisch zu verlängern, solange diese nicht gekündigt sind.

Sehr gut, gibt kaum etwas Vergleichbares im Markt.

Pros

Praktisch alles kann dokumentiert werden. Neben der IT-Infrastruktur werden auch Verträge mit Dienstleistern und der Brandschutz auf Etagenplänen erfasst. Wir haben i-doit direkt an unseren HelpDesk Zammad angebunden, wodurch wir jetzt auch Geräte in der IT-Dokumentation direkt im Ticket verknüpfen können.

Cons

Das man nichts kalkulieren kann. Wenn man schon alle Betriebskosten von Geräten erfasst, wäre es gut wenn diese auch z.B. im zugewiesenen Arbeitsplatz kumuliert werden.

Die Einfache Bereitstellung von Test und Produktionssystem hat uns geholfen rasch den Nutzen evaluieren zu können und dann auch sehr schnell produktiv einsetzen zu können.

Pros

Die grafische und tabellarische Übersicht über unsere Produktionssysteme und Drucker ermöglicht ein einfaches Auffinden von Geräten in den Produktionshallen.

Cons

Das Einfügen von Grafiken / Plänen als Hintergrund ist ein wenig mit Übung verbunden. Aber es funktioniert wenn man es heraußen hat ganz gut.

Wir nutzen i-doit zur Dokumentation unserer IT-Assets inkl. Lizenzen sowie Softwares und haben somit immer den Überblick über unsere IT-Ausstattung, auslaufende Lizenzen, Wartungen und Updates. Gerade am Anfang der IT-Dokumentation benötigt es viel Zeit und Arbeit, um eine sinnvolle Datenstruktur herauszuarbeiten, aber wenn die Struktur einmal steht, macht es das Handling sehr einfach und man hat immer einen transparenten Überblick.

Pros

\- Daten sind gut strukturiert und einfach zu erfassen - Individuell erweiterbar durch verschiedene Add-Ons - Zuverlässiger Support durch den Hersteller - Umfangreiche Funktionen zur Dokumentation verschiedenster Assets

Cons

Bisher sind beim Arbeiten mit i-doit keine Nachteile aufgetreten.

Wir haben einen wesentlich besseren Überblick aktuell über von uns eingesetzte Systeme inkl. deren Wartungs- und Serviceverträgen. Weiterhin bauen wir eine ständig steigende Anzahl an Objekten ein, die in der gesamten Universität verteilt sind und damit hier die Übersicht über aktuelle Geräte sich regelmäßig vervollständigt, was bisher in verschiedenen Systemen (.. und Köpfen ..) vorhanden war. Gutes Handling,

Pros

Die Abstimmung mit dem Hersteller gingen in der ersten Phase sehr gut und unkompliziert, die Funktionsvielfalt ist sehr umfangreich und bietet für unsere Anwendungen sehr viele Möglichkeiten, das Netzwerk für neue Anwendungen ist groß und umfangreich

Cons

Die Dokumentation und der Support für die API hat uns anfänglich Probleme gemacht und in einigen Fällen auch noch nicht richtig weiterhelfen können (Performance -Probkematik beim Synchronisieren von Datenbeständen)

Wir verwalten mit i-doit alle Assets der IT inkl. der Kabeldokumentation. Ebenso werden Software und Lizenzen, sowie zyklische Wartungen mit i-doit verwaltet. Somit haben wir (fast) nur ein Werkzeug in dem wir Informationen suchen und finden. Bis heute haben wir kein Werkzeug gefunden, dass diese Fexibilität bei der gegebenen Einfachheit ermöglicht. Die größte Hürde bei der Einführung von i-doit liegt im OSI-Layer 8. Wenn der Nutzer gewillt ist das zu dokumentieren, was nötig ist, erhält man ein wertvolles Werkzeug, das extrem die Effektivität steigert. Der Mensch neigt leider oft dazu Dinge entweder garnicht, nicht vollständig oder zu detailliert zu dokumentieren. Hier ein gesundes Mittelmaß zu finden ist die große Herausforderung.

Pros

Die Datenstrukturen im i-doit sind genial einfach und deshalb fast auf jeden Bedarf anpassbar. Die Installation und auch die Softwarepflege ist ebenfalls sehr einfach gestaltet.

Cons

Es fehlt bei der Nutzung mit mehreren Mandanten die übergreifende Benutzerverwaltung, sowie mandantenübergreifende Objekte. Auch die Sichtbarkeit von Objekten über die Rechteverwaltung abzubilden wäre ein lohnenswertes Feature.

Ein Wissender eines Kunden kann in IDOIT eine Dokumentation erstellen, so dass andere ganz leicht IT-Assets finden und bearbeiten können. Allerdings ist hier viel Fleiß notwendig um die Daten in eine Struktur zu bringen. Womit fängt man an, wie sind Abhängigkeiten. In IDOIT führen viele Wege zum Ziel aber einige sind einfach zielführender als andere :-)

Pros

Damals gab es kein ähnliches Produkt auf dem Markt. Die Vorstellung auf der Cebit hat uns überzeugt. Die Erkenntnis, dass es extrem hilfreich ist, alle Informationen (IT Assets) in einer Umgebung bündeln zu können und Excel-Listen damit überflüssig zu machen.

Cons

Lange Einarbeitungszeit. Viel Abhängigkeiten sind auch heute noch extrem schwierig zu verstehen oder anderen zu vermitteln. Zum Beispiel Verkabelungen.

Pros

Mit i-doit ist möglich in sämtlichen Bereichen der Netzwerkarbeit die wichtigsten Daten strukturiert und übersichtlich zu erfassen. Insbesondere der Report Manager und der Verbindungsmanager sind sehr nützlich.

Cons

Es gibt immer noch Punkte, die in i-doit verbessert werden können. Dazu gehört bspw. die Definition von Pflichtfeldern in Abhängigkeit vom Objekt-CMDB-Status.
