Come Audit time, Hyena is instrumental in quickly compiling requested lists of users / groups / computers Pros The ability to view all computers / groups or Users in a single list is a key feature. Recurse function throughout the hierarchy shows accounts in a single window making it easy to copy/paste, or even modify descriptions in a bulk edit. Easy to copy group memberships from one object to another. It is a fantastic product. Once we started going to cloud based products, Hyena became less useful. Pros It brought everything into one location for a domain. Cons Once we moved to Office 365 we could no longer use Hyena to created user accounts. Fix this please! It saves me a lot of time and effort by having it done in one place instead of 2 different admin tools. Cons What I like least is the remote control functionality. And I have never looked back. It is packed with features that often cost significantly more. And they continue to improve and enhance the capabilities. And the pricing remains so competitive. Pros The overall functionality and features. And the cost is absolutely amazing. This is my favorite system administrator tool, especially for Active Directory domains. It includes features that come with tools that cost 10 times what Hyena sells for. And the customer support is outstanding. Cons There is really nothing to dislike. One feature I did like was the ability to renew my maintenance agreement for 1, 2 or 3 years. They now only allow 1 year renewals. I still keep mine up to date as there is nothing else like it for this price range. Pros Makes it very easy to export lists of users/groups as well as remotely adding printers Cons The interface is a little dated and the customer forum does not seem to work anymore. Response from Vendor February 28, 2019 Regarding the forum, we set it to be a read-only resource years ago due to the amount of spamming and constant hacking attempts on customer data. Since we use a 3rd party product for the forum, the risks of having customer information being breached was not worth the value for a small number of postings. Customers also usually can't provide enough details for resolutions in most cases, so the board/forum just does not fit our support model.
