September 24, 2026 4.0 Overall I am happy with the product. It has been easy to use and manage the users, bank accounts and payment process. Pros Very easy to use. It's great to have the client portal so clients can pay at their own convenience. Being able to accept e-checks has been a great addition for our business and our clients. It's easy to find the transactions, email receipts, refund and void transactions. Cons Since 8am merged with LawPay, the personal touch such as Coffee with LawPay has been lost. It was a great way to be reminded of the features available and if there were any updates to the product. I also wish we had more control over the payment page as well. It’s convenient, professional, and makes managing client payments easier. There was a small learning curve at first, but once you get used to the system, it’s pretty straightforward. It has been a useful tool for our firm. Pros It’s easy to use and makes collecting and keeping track of client payments much more convenient. I also like that it is specifically designed for law firms, which makes it useful for our day-to-day work. While there is room for improvement in reporting and transaction management, the platform has streamlined our payment process and has been a valuable tool for our firm. Pros What I like most about 8am LawPay is how simple and dependable it is for collecting client payments. The interface is easy to navigate, payment links are convenient to send, and clients can make secure payments without unnecessary confusion. Cons What I like least is that reporting and transaction research could be more intuitive. It can take too many steps to locate specific payment details, reconcile activity, or correct an issue. Our staff has learned how to use it quickly and we really don't have anything negative with it. Pros It is very simple to use and integrates with our case management system. The value seems on par with others. Issuing a refund of a credit card transaction is very easy. Cons At first, I was not a fan of the pay later options. It is a great solution if your business is sending out invoices. The fees that they take whether debt or credit are pretty high. Pros The dashboard is good and intuitive. Easy to send out bills and invoices. The payment links are easy to follow and probably the best feature of LawPay. Cons The canned emails are not great. You need to re-write with your own specific message or better yet copy the link and send it in an email or as a link in your invoices. The fees are very high and I hate that they send the statements in the mail and they are not accessible online. August 25, 2025 5.0 We initially were using the payment service offered by the Cloud-based software program we use for our law firm. However, it does not compare to LawPay in terms of fees, ease of us, and ease of reconciliation. In our view, LawPay is the superior service. Pros LawPay is simple to use and offers a competitive rate. They provide one monthly statement for fees, whereas competitors charge daily, which increases our bank costs. It is also easy to reconcile payments through LawPay. Cons We understood that LawPay acquired their own legal software company in 2023. By this time, we were already used to the current Cloud-based software that we use, and so unfortunately the software LawPay acquired does not compare to the one we currently use. The services provided by LawPay itself though, we have no complaints about. Review Source James L. I had a payment link, and my bank was connected fairly quickly. I now have a permanent link that I can send my clients. I strongly recommend LawPay. Pros LawPay is seamlessly integrated with MyCase. If you use MyCase practice software, you won't want to use any other payment system. That, plus it is much easier to use than other secure PCI-compliant technology. Great reporting functionality. Cons LawPay was easy to use, and very intuitive. The only thing I wish it had was better accounting to show cash flows NET of processing fees. Pros LawPay is convenient for our clients, and ourselves. The emails go out and often the payments come in right away. It allows us to deposit money into the appropriate account without having to deposit everything into one account and transfer to another account. Cons Sometimes clients cannot get their payment options to work and it may take several tries. This appears to be at the client's end for the most part. Pros I appreciate that Law Pay is specifically designed for law firms, its easy to create branded payment pages and payments are done super quickly. Cons I wish I could search the QuickBooks back by scrolling. As well our firm includes the attorneys name, and it happens to be common, and when searching clients with the same last name, it doesnt filter out the other clients due to the office name. (Search Rodriguez, it shows all transactions including that name and because the firm name includes Rodriguez, it doesn't filter anything.
