“I used to love that eChecks were so cheap, but now they charge a percent of the fee along with the credit card fees. And while not completely out of the ballpark, it feels like Lawpay is a bit more expensive than other platforms. And it feels like other CMS platforms are moving away from supporting the Lawpay integration, which can complicate things.“

### "Convenient Law Payment System "

April 17, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience has been good. I haven’t had problems using the program and the cost is reasonable.

Pros

I like that it offers clients a variety of ways to make payments. I also like that it can be easily used within my case management program.

Cons

I wish reporting was clearer. Also, when I send a payment request directly in the program, we are very limited in what we can say in the email sent to the client.

### "Attorney at Law"

Lawpay is easy to use. I can send a link for payment through my mobile app or desktop. My staff all agree that that app is easy and user friendly. My clients feel safe to use.

Pros

What I like the most about 8am Lawpay is that it is easy to use. I can send a link for payment through my mobile app or desktop. My clients tell me they feel their credit card information is secure.

Cons

There was nothing wrong with 8am lawpay. Lawpay is that it is easy to use. I can send a link for payment through my mobile app or desktop.

### "If you use it right can make it very easy to accept payment"

December 11, 2019

4.0

Customer payments. It is a great solution if your business is sending out invoices. The fees that they take whether debt or credit are pretty high.

Pros

The dashboard is good and intuitive. Easy to send out bills and invoices. The payment links are easy to follow and probably the best feature of LawPay.

Cons

The canned emails are not great. You need to re-write with your own specific message or better yet copy the link and send it in an email or as a link in your invoices. The fees are very high and I hate that they send the statements in the mail and they are not accessible online.

Less intuitive for clients. LawPay when you do the work is easy for clients to pay.

### "LawPay has been a great addition to our business"

June 19, 2026

5.0

We are very happy with LawPay.

Pros

LawPay has been very easy to use. I like being able to process payments when I client is in office, on the phone or emailing a quick bill.

Cons

There was a time period when our clients could not make a partial payment on the total amount invoiced.

### "LawPay is the superior choice!"

August 22, 2025

5.0

We initially were using the payment service offered by the Cloud-based software program we use for our law firm. However, it does not compare to LawPay in terms of fees, ease of us, and ease of reconciliation. In our view, LawPay is the superior service.

Pros

LawPay is simple to use and offers a competitive rate. They provide one monthly statement for fees, whereas competitors charge daily, which increases our bank costs. It is also easy to reconcile payments through LawPay.

Cons

We understood that LawPay acquired their own legal software company in 2023. By this time, we were already used to the current Cloud-based software that we use, and so unfortunately the software LawPay acquired does not compare to the one we currently use. The services provided by LawPay itself though, we have no complaints about.

Switched from

Only because LawPay acquired their own legal software, and as a result, our Cloud-based software created their own payment service that we used for a short period of time.

### "LawPay is integrated, seamless, and intuitive"

November 2, 2025

5.0

LawPay took less than a day to get operational. I had a payment link, and my bank was connected fairly quickly. I now have a permanent link that I can send my clients. I strongly recommend LawPay.

Pros

LawPay is seamlessly integrated with MyCase. If you use MyCase practice software, you won't want to use any other payment system. That, plus it is much easier to use than other secure PCI-compliant technology. Great reporting functionality.

Cons

LawPay was easy to use, and very intuitive. The only thing I wish it had was better accounting to show cash flows NET of processing fees.

### "LawPay Helps Me Support My Firm"

April 10, 2026

4.0

I provide front office administrative support and LawPay makes it easy to process direct card charges.

Pros

The user interface is easy to navigate. The system also doesn't punish me for simple misspellings when running charges.

Cons

Other options beyond direct charges to cards are squirrely. ACH payments get rejected after LawPay tells us they went through...

Pros

### "LawPay has made getting paid easy"

June 17, 2026

5.0

Now that we have been using it for over a year, it is great, easy and fast to use. Our clients like it because it is secure and they feel comfortable about usng their credit cards to pay our fees

Pros

It is easy to use, secure and a good value for the money. We use it for our clients all the time. It is easy to use and when the client has a problem they have options for payments that make the client side of it easy also. If the client is not happy with our terms, it is easy for us to refund their money.

Cons

I suppose the learning curve. It took a while to learn how to do it, but once you learn the ins and outs, it is easy

### "Best Paymennt platform available "

May 27, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with 8am Law Pay has been positive. The platform is easy to use, simplifies payment processing for both staff and clients, and helps make managing legal payments and payment plans much more efficient

Pros

8am Law Pay has been a reliable and efficient payment platform that makes handling legal billing smoother, faster, and far less stressful for both staff and clients.

Cons

What I like least about 8am Law Pay is that they take a percentage from long-term client payment plans over time, when that added processing cost should really be passed on to the customer choosing the financing option rather than reducing the firm’s collected fees

### "Secure, Convenient, and Easy to Use"

October 17, 2025

5.0

It is very easy to use. On the rare occasion that we have an issue, it is fairly easy to communicate with someone and get the issue resolved.

Pros

It's secure and user friendly. Our clients seem to like the ease of paying through a payment link rather than having to give their credit/debit card information over the phone or coming to the office in person.

Cons

I really don't have any complaints at this time. I am not a fan of the periodic two step verification, but I understand it's necessary to maintain security.

### "My Experience with 8am LawPay Over the Past Six Months"

October 27, 2025

5.0

It has been easy to send over links for payment and it has been beneficial to the business to be able to offer the financing options.

Pros

I am glad we are able to provide potential clients with financing options that we previously were unable to do. We have had numerous clients be able to retain once being approved whereas they wouldn't have been able to otherwise.

Cons

I don't like that it doesn't (from what I have seen) sync over automatically into 8am MyCase. We have had to record the payments in 8am MyCase after they've gone through 8am LawPay.

It has been seamless and easy to use. I don't love using cards to accept money, but I think this is the best platform to use for cards.

Pros

I like how intuitive it is. There is almost no learning curve, and everything is easy to learn. I also like the security.

Cons

I have no complaints, really, however, I would say that the website can be annoying to log in to occasionally.

### "My experience with LawPay"

January 31, 2024

5.0

It has been a very helpful tool in making collections much faster and smoother for our firm. It is 100% better than using the old school credit card machines, and this gives our clients the ability to do this on their own and at their convenience, whether our firm is open or not.

Pros

It is very quick and easy to take a payment from a client. It is very easy so send them a direct link to pay and easy to link to our website to make a payment and direct them there to complete the process.

Cons

Some clients complain about the limits of making echeck payments. It is a bit complicated how the payments are batched together from the credit card companies when they hit our bank, but I don't think LawPay can control that much, if at all.

### "Efficient, intuitive credit card processing."

June 13, 2022

4.0

Excellent. The extra time for transferring funds is offset by the integration with out law firm management software and the elimination of extra processing.

Pros

Credit card processing is intuitive. This is especially helpful for the staff that only do occasional entries. Credit Card processing is integrated with the law management software, hence, the credit card processing and the recording to the client account is accomplished in one transaction.

Cons

It takes 48 hours to get the funds into our bank account. This is an extra 24 hours over our previous processor.

Reason for choosing 8am LawPay

Only LawPay offered the integration with our law firm management software.

### "A good option for law firms, but there is room for improvement"

May 17, 2022

4.0

The experience has been good, but it could be improved by providing additional features and integrations offered by most non-legal focused payment solutions.

Pros

It was fairly easy to set up an account, after filling out the necessary paperwork. The fees are decent. Allows for easy compliance with trust accounting rules. When support was required, I found LawPay to be responsive and easy to deal with.

Cons

When comparing LawPay with something like Stripe, it's clear that LawPay was built for lawyers. It has all of the features a lawyer would expect. Unfortunately, it's missing many of the features a regular business would expect, like extensive integrations through an API. This makes LawPay much less flexible than non-legal specific options. For example, if you want to integrate with things like Calendly, Acuity Scheduling, Airtable, etc., you will need to use something else. There is no Zapier or Integromat integration, which is becoming more important these days. The reports are alright, but the interface is not as intuitive as I would like.

Reason for choosing 8am LawPay

Has legal-focused solutions to deal with Law Society compliance and trust accounting.

### "LawPay an end to your collections and reporting issues!"

June 14, 2022

5.0

Wonderful! It was super easy to train on, their staff is always available for any questions and their reports are life saving!

Pros

I love how LawPay allows for refunds of a lesser amount than the full payment! Sometimes our consults aren’t as long as they are scheduled and clients love getting that refund in a timely manner! Lawpay allows for the swift and easy process of refunds!

Cons

Really nothing, it’s very effective, user friendly and their staff is always available by phone email or chat!

Reason for choosing 8am LawPay

I’m not 100% certain

### "Senior partner in small firm recommends LawPay"

November 15, 2023

Overall, we are very happy with the easy manner that our clients have taken to LawPay.

Pros

We had a seamless transition from previous payment methods to LawPay. It has worked for us for the past three or four years.

Cons

We spend between $25,000-35,000 in credit card fees. It would be helpful to be able to apply some of those funds to our practice.
