### "Convenient Law Payment System "

April 17, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience has been good. I haven’t had problems using the program and the cost is reasonable.

Pros

I like that it offers clients a variety of ways to make payments. I also like that it can be easily used within my case management program.

Cons

I wish reporting was clearer. Also, when I send a payment request directly in the program, we are very limited in what we can say in the email sent to the client.

### "Versatile payment platform"

March 20, 2026

5.0

Overall, I have appreciated Lawpay, being a platform I have been a member on for more than 7 years. It's cheap and versatile enough that I can see being a member for a lot longer, though if it stays expensive and other platforms get cheaper, I'll also be open to doing more business on another platform to save money.

Pros

Lawpay is pretty easy to use. It's a versatile tool, makes it easy to get paid. I appreciated that there are very few bugs and issues when using it. The tool has good security, and makes clients feel comfortable.

Cons

Biggest thing I don't like is the cost. I used to love that eChecks were so cheap, but now they charge a percent of the fee along with the credit card fees. And while not completely out of the ballpark, it feels like Lawpay is a bit more expensive than other platforms. And it feels like other CMS platforms are moving away from supporting the Lawpay integration, which can complicate things.

### "If you use it right can make it very easy to accept payment"

December 11, 2019

4.0

Customer payments. It is a great solution if your business is sending out invoices. The fees that they take whether debt or credit are pretty high.

Pros

The dashboard is good and intuitive. Easy to send out bills and invoices. The payment links are easy to follow and probably the best feature of LawPay.

Cons

The canned emails are not great. You need to re-write with your own specific message or better yet copy the link and send it in an email or as a link in your invoices. The fees are very high and I hate that they send the statements in the mail and they are not accessible online.

Less intuitive for clients. LawPay when you do the work is easy for clients to pay.

### "Very satisfied "

May 26, 2026

5.0

I have nothing but great things to say about Lawpay. Ease of transactions. Nothing bad to say at all.

Pros

I like the ease of access. Everything is user friendly and client friendly. My clients love how easy it is.

Cons

Not a fan of the processing fees, but who is? I understand it’s a part of doing business. I just wish I remembered to charge them to my client each time.

### "Lawyer Payment SOlution"

March 26, 2026

5.0

Best decision we ever made. Superior to many other options we tried previously. Definitely the way to go for lawyers.

Pros

Easy and intiuitive to use. Best payment system for lawyers. Have not encountered any issues while using it,

Cons

I like everything. There could be more customizable report options. But nothing that cannot be handled.

### "LawPay is the superior choice!"

August 22, 2025

5.0

We initially were using the payment service offered by the Cloud-based software program we use for our law firm. However, it does not compare to LawPay in terms of fees, ease of us, and ease of reconciliation. In our view, LawPay is the superior service.

Pros

LawPay is simple to use and offers a competitive rate. They provide one monthly statement for fees, whereas competitors charge daily, which increases our bank costs. It is also easy to reconcile payments through LawPay.

Cons

We understood that LawPay acquired their own legal software company in 2023. By this time, we were already used to the current Cloud-based software that we use, and so unfortunately the software LawPay acquired does not compare to the one we currently use. The services provided by LawPay itself though, we have no complaints about.

Switched from

[Clio](https://www.capterra.com/p/105428/Clio/)

Only because LawPay acquired their own legal software, and as a result, our Cloud-based software created their own payment service that we used for a short period of time.

Lawpay is easy to use. I can send a link for payment through my mobile app or desktop. My staff all agree that that app is easy and user friendly. My clients feel safe to use.

Pros

What I like the most about 8am Lawpay is that it is easy to use. I can send a link for payment through my mobile app or desktop. My clients tell me they feel their credit card information is secure.

Cons

There was nothing wrong with 8am lawpay. Lawpay is that it is easy to use. I can send a link for payment through my mobile app or desktop.

### "LawPay is integrated, seamless, and intuitive"

November 2, 2025

5.0

LawPay took less than a day to get operational. I had a payment link, and my bank was connected fairly quickly. I now have a permanent link that I can send my clients. I strongly recommend LawPay.

Pros

LawPay is seamlessly integrated with MyCase. If you use MyCase practice software, you won't want to use any other payment system. That, plus it is much easier to use than other secure PCI-compliant technology. Great reporting functionality.

Cons

LawPay was easy to use, and very intuitive. The only thing I wish it had was better accounting to show cash flows NET of processing fees.

### "One of the best payment processors for Law Firms"

October 20, 2025

5.0

Pros

Very simple to use both from a customer point of view and on the backend as well. They have a great customer support team as well who is very helpful.

Cons

The reporting on the system is not the greatest and the time available to issue a refund (only 6 months) can sometimes make it difficult especially when you are utilizing a trust account with LawPay.

### "LawPay Helps Me Support My Firm"

April 10, 2026

4.0

I provide front office administrative support and LawPay makes it easy to process direct card charges.

Pros

The user interface is easy to navigate. The system also doesn't punish me for simple misspellings when running charges.

Cons

Other options beyond direct charges to cards are squirrely. ACH payments get rejected after LawPay tells us they went through...

### "A Valuable Tool for Our Firm"

July 28, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with 8am LawPay has been very positive. It provides a reliable and secure way to collect client payments, is easy for both our staff and clients to use, and integrates well into our billing workflow. While there is room for improvement in reporting and transaction management, the platform has streamlined our payment process and has been a valuable tool for our firm.

Pros

What I like most about 8am LawPay is how simple and dependable it is for collecting client payments. The interface is easy to navigate, payment links are convenient to send, and clients can make secure payments without unnecessary confusion. It also integrates well with our billing process and makes it easier to track payments and keep accounts organized.

Cons

What I like least is that reporting and transaction research could be more intuitive. It can take too many steps to locate specific payment details, reconcile activity, or correct an issue. More customizable reports and clearer transaction information would make the platform much easier to manage.

I have a enjoyed using 8am LawPay. Overall, I have had a wonderful experience using the various features.

Pros

Payment processing is easy and convenient. I don't believe that I have ever had an easier time with review and processing of transactions with other companies.

Cons

Once a transaction is processed, I find it difficult to identify the email used to send the receipt to a client.

### "So Far, So Good"

July 8, 2025

4.0

It has worked so far without a great deal of interruption, which is a very good thing. I am not sure why MyCase swithced everyone over to LawPay. MyCase Payments worked well for us for several years.

Pros

Fortunately, it has been a fairly smooth transition to LawPay from MyCase Payments. It seems to be working well so far.

Cons

We were told that MyCase was switching everyone over to LawPay. There was no choice involved on our part. And our rates per transaction went up a bit.

### "My experience with LawPay"

January 31, 2024

5.0

It has been a very helpful tool in making collections much faster and smoother for our firm. It is 100% better than using the old school credit card machines, and this gives our clients the ability to do this on their own and at their convenience, whether our firm is open or not.

Pros

It is very quick and easy to take a payment from a client. It is very easy so send them a direct link to pay and easy to link to our website to make a payment and direct them there to complete the process.

Cons

Some clients complain about the limits of making echeck payments. It is a bit complicated how the payments are batched together from the credit card companies when they hit our bank, but I don't think LawPay can control that much, if at all.

### "Overall Love LawPay, 1 Fix"

January 26, 2024

4.0

Please help Farrar Law Firm get this 3% processing fee automatically added to all payments made through LawPay. Overall LawPay is wonderful.

Pros

The convenience, the streamlined program allows us to quickly send invoices out for replenishment retainers, I can take payment during client meetings with ease. I'm able to access historical data with no problems. Overall every firm should offer LawPay.

Cons

My only criticism is that LawPay does not automatically add the 3% fee for Farrar Law Firm. I have personally utilized LawPay at multiple firms and this was included at those offices. It is currently up to the staff or the client to figure out what the 3% is and add it up, which has caused problems for us in the past when client's forget and simply pay the figure. Our firm has lost money having to forfeit that 3% because our client didn't know any better or we didn't have a chance to inform them prior to them making the payment.

### "LawPay an end to your collections and reporting issues!"

June 14, 2022

5.0

Wonderful! It was super easy to train on, their staff is always available for any questions and their reports are life saving!

Pros

I love how LawPay allows for refunds of a lesser amount than the full payment! Sometimes our consults aren’t as long as they are scheduled and clients love getting that refund in a timely manner! Lawpay allows for the swift and easy process of refunds!

Cons

Really nothing, it’s very effective, user friendly and their staff is always available by phone email or chat!

Reason for choosing 8am LawPay

Pros

We had a seamless transition from previous payment methods to LawPay. It has worked for us for the past three or four years.

Cons

We spend between $25,000-35,000 in credit card fees. It would be helpful to be able to apply some of those funds to our practice.
