### "Law Pay—I’ll give them credit. "

October 7, 2024

5.0

Great product. Makes taking credit cards a breeze, and I can have fees credited either to operating or trust account.

Pros

Makes taking credit cards simple, and I get paid quickly.

Cons

Seems like the fees are high but I can’t say for certain. Also, billing statements hard to understand.

### "Making business less busy"

February 9, 2024

5.0

Pros

Hours were spent recording and calculating bills and payments and remaining balances and sending clients reports, before. So much time has been freed up for our firm by using LawPay. Plus, the fact that we can now accept any form of payment a client may possibly need is incredibly valuable.

Cons

The credit card processor device has not been working every time lately and we have to type in all of the card information and billing adress. this takes a while when the client is standing in front of you, waiting.

Reason for choosing 8am LawPay

Clio cost a little more to use the electronic payment option and wasn't quite as organized and simple to use. There was only a small difference but still made it easier to make the decision.

### "My experience with LawPay"

January 31, 2024

5.0

It has been a very helpful tool in making collections much faster and smoother for our firm. It is 100% better than using the old school credit card machines, and this gives our clients the ability to do this on their own and at their convenience, whether our firm is open or not.

Pros

It is very quick and easy to take a payment from a client. It is very easy so send them a direct link to pay and easy to link to our website to make a payment and direct them there to complete the process.

Cons

Some clients complain about the limits of making echeck payments. It is a bit complicated how the payments are batched together from the credit card companies when they hit our bank, but I don't think LawPay can control that much, if at all.

### "Highly Recommend LawPay to other Small Firms"

August 2, 2023

5.0

Highly recommend LawPay for simple, straightforward billing.

Pros

The necessity of electronic payments is the main reason I obtained LawPay for my firm; we needed an electronic payment processing system that was secure and easy to use, as well as the ability to forward payment links to clients. I'd estimate more than half of our clients pay electronically now, where before LawPay our office was only using paper currency. This app absolutely is better than Square or the other small business electronic payment processing apps on the market. I also love that the processing fees are passed on to the client in a clear fashion; as a small business it would be difficult to cover those fees especially on some of these large trust deposits that might end up being partially refunded.

Cons

Lawpay could really use a recurring billing feature that keeps up with client billing for us. By that I mean a feature where, if we send out a bill and it is not paid or not paid in full, LawPay software will automatically resend the bill periodically to the Client until paid in full. Currently we do it manually or set up reminders in MyCase, which doesn't record its own reminders sent out.

### "Agrxis Review on LawPay"

May 22, 2023

5.0

I've had excellent results generally with LawPay. LawPay has given me a secure and effective payment processing system that has tremendously streamlined my financial operations as a legal professional. The platform's user-friendly design and smooth connection with my current systems have made managing and reconciling payments exceedingly straightforward. I like LawPay's dedication to data security and PCI compliance because it gives me confidence that the private information of my clients is well-protected. An additional benefit that has allowed me to accept payments without paying exorbitant costs is LawPay's competitive processing rates. The team has also been courteous and knowledgable whenever they responded, despite sporadic delays in customer assistance.

Pros

The smooth and secure payment processing experience LawPay provides is what I liked most about it, and I am very happy with it. As a lawyer, I appreciate LawPay's ease of use and dependability when it comes to processing client payments. I have saved a significant amount of time and work by managing and reconciling payments with ease thanks to the platform's connection with my current systems. Additionally, I feel secure knowing that my clients' private financial information is well-protected because to LawPay's dedication to data security and PCI compliance. Another significant benefit is the affordable processing rates provided by LawPay, which enable me to accept debit and credit card payments without paying exorbitant costs.

Cons

Even though I am typically happy with LawPay, I would have to say that the customer service experience was the least enjoyable. In a few cases, I ran into delays in receiving a response to my questions or finding a solution. These delays can be annoying at times as someone who values effective and timely customer service. However, I must point out that the support staff was friendly and knowledgable once I did get a response.

### "Efficient, intuitive credit card processing."

June 13, 2022

4.0

Excellent. The extra time for transferring funds is offset by the integration with out law firm management software and the elimination of extra processing.

Pros

Credit card processing is intuitive. This is especially helpful for the staff that only do occasional entries. Credit Card processing is integrated with the law management software, hence, the credit card processing and the recording to the client account is accomplished in one transaction.

Cons

It takes 48 hours to get the funds into our bank account. This is an extra 24 hours over our previous processor.

Reason for choosing 8am LawPay

Only LawPay offered the integration with our law firm management software.

### "A good option for law firms, but there is room for improvement"

May 17, 2022

4.0

The experience has been good, but it could be improved by providing additional features and integrations offered by most non-legal focused payment solutions.

Pros

It was fairly easy to set up an account, after filling out the necessary paperwork. The fees are decent. Allows for easy compliance with trust accounting rules. When support was required, I found LawPay to be responsive and easy to deal with.

Cons

When comparing LawPay with something like Stripe, it's clear that LawPay was built for lawyers. It has all of the features a lawyer would expect. Unfortunately, it's missing many of the features a regular business would expect, like extensive integrations through an API. This makes LawPay much less flexible than non-legal specific options. For example, if you want to integrate with things like Calendly, Acuity Scheduling, Airtable, etc., you will need to use something else. There is no Zapier or Integromat integration, which is becoming more important these days. The reports are alright, but the interface is not as intuitive as I would like.

Reason for choosing 8am LawPay

Has legal-focused solutions to deal with Law Society compliance and trust accounting.

### "Reliable Payment Processing"

January 31, 2024

5.0

Excellent and very user friendly, decent rate (v. other payment options).

Pros

LawPay is convenient for our clients, and ourselves. The emails go out and often the payments come in right away. It allows us to deposit money into the appropriate account without having to deposit everything into one account and transfer to another account.

Cons

Sometimes clients cannot get their payment options to work and it may take several tries. This appears to be at the client's end for the most part.

### "Necessary"

June 9, 2023

It works just fine, we can pass along some of the fees to the clients, hard to know exactly what we are paying. No different than other cc processing companies, but compliant.

Pros

I like that it is compliant with legal ethical rules.

Cons

I don't like that I don't know exactly what I am paying for fees.

### "The Best Payment Processor an Attorney Could Hope For"

January 31, 2024

5.0

Overall, LawPay is an excellent invoice and payment processor. They deposit funds into my accounts promptly and their partnership with Affirm offers an excellent option for payment plans should my clients want them. LawPay is the best option I've found in the payment processor industry.

Pros

LawPay works specifically with attorneys in a way that anticipates and addresses issues unique to the practice of law. The invoices that are sent to clients are pleasant and enable the client to pay with very little friction on their end thereby ensuring prompt payments.

Cons

Scheduling payment plans is a bit cumbersome. I would prefer a more straightforward workflow to schedule payment plans.

### "Lawpay Successful in our Office"

January 31, 2024

Very good, we have recommended this product to several other legal professionals and many have signed up for this product.

Pros

The ease of running payments for our clients and the ability to sent payment request directly to our clients for them to pay at any time.

Cons

That you have to put the entire address into the charge location and not just the normal request for the zip code associated with the card.

### "LawPay Eases Your Mind"

December 21, 2022

5.0

Pros

The integration with Clio is very useful for keeping records. Overall it is an easy to use payment platform for both my workplace and our customers. The transaction records are also very easy to understand, and the search feature makes work easier for those who keep records.

Cons

LawPay's integration with Clio could use improvement. Clio seems to have a hard time with keeping up-to-date statuses of things like refunds or payments not linked to a bill sent out from Clio.

Pros

LawPay's ease of use has made it a useful tool in our law firm. We offer it to all clients via a LawPay button (link) added right to our invoices. The processing fees are some of the best rates in the industry. We had our bank compare pricing, and they could not even come close to what LawPay offers us.

Cons

I cannot think of any cons with LawPay. They have been an important part of our AR collections process for over 6 years now.

### "Perfect solution for credit card billing for lawyers"

December 13, 2018

5.0

Overall my experience with LawPay has been great.

Pros

LawPay is very easy to use, I always just use the QuickBill feature which allows me to quickly email a bill to a client. I can resend the bill and edit it afterwards if needed. My law firm is fully digital, so LawPay is great, I never send out paper bills. It also is great for complying with ethical rules related to trust accounts and credit card billing - almost all of my credit card bills are processed for up front payments into trust.

Cons

They have not yet switched to paperless monthly statements, so those come in the mail. I'd prefer paperless. Also, if you process a payment and issue a refund the same day, it will simply show up as a single transaction for the sum of the two - this complicates accounting, for me, in QuickBooks, which cannot handle a deposit and a withdrawal from an account in a single transaction. The complication is that when I do reconciliation in QuickBooks my bank account always shows a transaction I have to remember to ignore because I had to record it as two transactions.

We love that LawPay allows our clients to make payments on their invoices with either a credit card or a bank account so easily, and that it also allows infringers to pay their settlement amounts easily without having to send a check or a wire through!

### "Easiest Way for Lawyers to Process Cards"

September 28, 2019

5.0

LawPay doesn't have all the features as other processors like Square and Stripe. But with a little creativity (and their customer support is willing to work with you and give you ideas), you can make LawPay work for your practice. Best of all, it works seamlessly with Clio, which makes taking payments from clients who are already established with invoicing very easy.

Pros

Law Pay is the easiest way to process credit cards for lawyers. It's easy to designate between trust accounting and my other accounts. I am never worried that it will be wrong. The funds process pretty quickly. It works seamlessly with Clio.

Cons

You cannot download your monthly statements from the web portal, which is very annoying and makes accounting more difficult. You also cannot sync it with your accounting software. You also cannot do card checks without charging (such as getting a card to secure a free consultation). So it's not a sophisticated software.
