Using Azure DevOps Server, we can build and shop the entire software on one single platform. It provides Azure Board for backlog, requirements and Software tasks planning, Azure Repos for Source Code Management, Azure Pipelines for CI/CD build and release pipelines, Azure Test Plans for testing, Azure Artifacts for hosting various packages and a big marketplace for all kind of tools. It has everything at one place

### "An all-in-one code management tool"

September 27, 2020

5.0

I've been working with this tool since it was only the Team Foundation Services, and it has a very important improvement in this transition to Azure Devops with the advantage that you don't need to integrate or consume azure services to get the funtionalities from it´s cloud version.

Pros

it has integrated a lot of features to manage code within microsoft development tools, from code versioning to Continious Integration / Continious Delivery.

Cons

Complete code management options like history, compare versions, inteligent merge, branch management.

Reason for choosing Azure DevOps Server

Because we use Microsoft platform to develop and it has all the interfaces to communicate with this development tools.

### "Great, All-inclusive replacement!"

August 22, 2019

5.0

This is a great way to integrate multiple software management systems to a single-source management solution.

Pros

I love the integration with Office 365 and Jenkins! Dev Ops makes it easier to function as a team and manage versions of multiple software projects simultaneously. I love the ability to create custom project flows.

Cons

Personally (with limited programming knowledge) found it difficult to transfer all branches of code from Git Lab to DevOps. Getting the master branch over was easy.

### "Tradeoffs of Azure DevOps Server "

November 21, 2023

5.0

Pros

It not only provides comprehensive tools for collaboration between development & operations, but also helps users with great features in test management. By supporting test planning, execution and monitoring, it helps users ensure the quality of their code.

Cons

Although it offers great features for backup and recovery, improper configuration or lack of regular backups could create a risk of information/data loss. So, the users must have a robust backup & disaster recovery process in place for safety objectives.

### "Azure DevOps - Microsoft at it's best"

Best offering for DevOps for Azure and Microsoft users

Pros

Very easy to set up and understand. For existing Microsoft users, this is the natural fit. Loved the integration with Azure,

Cons

The UI can definitely be improved. There should be some type of agile trainer virtual bot integrated with the system.

### "Something Like SharePoint..."

August 15, 2020

3.0

Overall, I do believe we are using DevOps for all that we intended, with code storage and user story tracking, but the transition has been on-going difficulty. While some software is like a clean house, which a few doors and rooms for different functions, DevOps seems more like a mansion with lots of doors, rooms and secret hallways that are needed to get to other parts of the house. That's been my impression so far.

Pros

Azure DevOps has a lot of functionality. It reminds me of SharePoint, but can do additional things like integrate to our other servers, and ultimately be used as our interface for getting to our code repository and running scripts to deploy code.

Cons

I found the interface to not be very user friendly. Many menus with sub-menus, and links and settings, which are not intuitive. My colleges and I have needed to make help documents to guide us through what to click on to get to were we need to be.

### "Best tool to keep all your work in one place"

July 16, 2018

5.0

Pros

I've been using tfs 2015 and recently moved to 2017. It's a great tool to store all your work in one place: requirements, test cases, bugs, design documents and the actual code.

Cons

I've been using the tool for 2+ years from now and there are no any negative points for me at this point for the tool.

It fits the need of any team working on an agile project, as it provides many features for managing, bug tracking and version control.

Pros

It lets you easily manage sprint boards, product backlogs and other scrum ceremonies. Being able to track bugs and generate burndown/burnup graphics.

Cons

Being unable to set a task for more than one person at the same time. The web navigation could be better.

### "Find all your tasks in one spot"

November 21, 2018

5.0

Overall, I had a good experience with TFS. It is a practical tool that was easy for my team to access and monitor their progress. It allowed us to keep all our useful notes, documents and links to content.

Pros

I loved that we could put our team on this software and manage each card with a lot of information. Each task that we created allowed us to put product leads, notes assigned to the party and final delivery dates. Each weekly meeting we could discuss each project and put it in the proper swim lane.

Cons

The interface was not the most pleasing. It still had a very dated look, that made the input and managing a little more of a boring task. I would include some "gaming" features that would give you some rewards letting the user know that their project was complete and successful. A couple gold stars go along way.

### "In/Out of the Loop"

July 17, 2019

5.0

Pros

It easily enables the website to be tested in the same state for multiple people, allowing for more clear testing.

Cons

When the server is being updated or paused by an administrator it doesn't let the user know, so that it may be functioning wrong but not actually have anything wrong with the program.
