With DataRails and the literal click of a button, my financials are updated and ready for review! Cons The most challenging thing I've run across is the data mapper and ensuring it is mapped correctly. It has made the monthly sale forecasting process easy to manage, control versions and automatically update rolling forecasts. Cons some of the standard widgets for the dashboards could look more visually appealing. It would be nice if the phone APP had more functionality - e.g. ability to change filters. The dashboards have made sharing financials with the team a lot easier, and once you get past the initial learning curve, it just works. Solid tool for the job. Pros The dashboards are my favorite part. They make it so much easier to share financial data with the team without having to rebuild everything each month. Cons Honestly, not much to complain about. The dashboard and widgets will be very powerful and will provide us the opportunity to change our reporting from just providing reports to analyzing information in a report structure that is impactful to decision makers. Cons Not necessarily a con about Datarails, but it would have been helpful to have a stronger understanding of the flow of data into Datarails from the ERP. Most organizations don't contain dedicated ERP solution specialists that can help troubleshoot issues, but the Datarails team has been very helpful in building the necessary bridges to get the system functional. I would say their biggest advantage is that their CSMs are all with finance background and have very strong technical knowledge. Pros Running a global attraction brand with more than 60 locations in multiple currencies with multiple accounting softwares means a lot of manual work for each month and or any ad-hoc task. With Datarails, all that is starting do automate and we can now focus more on actual insights behind the numbers. With seamless integration with multiple accounting softwares, Datarails made our work a lot easier and helped our business understand its processes even better. Cons There are some constraints regarding dashboard creation but they are always working on improving their program so it is getting better each month. Pros Makes consolidation faster and better. Its very easy to use when all you have to do. Great interface on the online platform. Cons The amount of linking needing to be done. Cons Implementation took longer than expected, particularly because Datarails has more experience with industries other than CPG, so some workflows required additional customization and alignment. The CSMs are highly responsive, and bugs are addressed promptly. \[sensitive content hidden\] and \[sensitive content hidden\] have been phenomenal in their roles! Cons We experienced some challenges initially, as we went through three different CSMs. The first was less diligent, which required us to review the mapping to our ERP systems to ensure all pertinent fields (e.g., transaction type) were included. Setting up the initial mapping logic took some time, but once we resolved these issues, we anticipate that the presets and calculated fields will translate over smoothly. We wish there were more budgeting and forecasting features but had a call with one of DR's developers and looks like those are in beta testing. Switched from [Oracle Database](https://www.capterra.com/p/5938/Oracle-Database/) When evaluating DR competitors and transitioning from our previous provider, Oracle, we prioritized finding software that streamlined monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting while allowing us to continue using our existing templates. Oracle was overly technical for our needs and required extensive product expertise to maintain. Although we are only 70–80% through the implementation process, the experience has been great so far. Pros The team, first and foremost, established a strong foundation for us to build upon, beginning with platform education and user experience. The platform is intuitive, and the fact that we could work with our Datarails counterpart to tackle actual work, and in the process learn more about the system, was an ideal approach to internalizing the Datarails features. The features accommodate a variety of different workflows, and saved us manual time and effort instead of regularly manipulating Excel files to update charts and tables, for instance. Our Datarails counterpart was also very accessible, which accelerated our track up the learning curve. Cons This is less of a critique of Datarails, but it's always a tug of war bridging the gap between daily power users and extended team members that are not regularly using a software, and how to convince non-regular users to abandon existing processes (bad habits) in favor of new processes (good habits). What I liked most is that it preserves the familiarity and flexibility of Excel while removing 90% of the manual, repetitive FP&A work. The use of dynamic ranges and lookups are super helpful and not found in many other reporting software. Cons Sometimes the dynamic ranges can act up where they have to be removed and setup again...they'll just stop working. I also liked how we were able to be hands on to understand the components but also had someone from Datarails assist in onboarding to help with our issues. We have had some issues in getting the data mapped, but once it was mapped the integration of data to reports was seamless Pros The one item that I appreciate most about Datarails is the seamless integration of date into the various spreadsheets and reports that have been created to draw the data from various sources. Cons The biggest issue that I saw was the disruption to our workspace that occurred when the Mac version was present for a Windows computer. This had gotten onto our datarails and had ruined any equation that was touched. This impacted numerous supervisors who were trying to submit budgets.
