The training has been consistent with plenty of time to ask questions and create reports together in real time. Pros Seamless integration with Excel. The stock dashboard and other reports that are available. The drill down function which will allow end users to answer their own financial questions. The systematic running of reports with very little inputs from Admin once it's set up. Cons I haven't had a great deal of cons at this point. And though I would not classify it as a "dislike" but a challenge and that is getting familar with the DR coding and structure. Review Source MG Michael G. So far, it appears to be worth the effort. Took about 2 months to get it up and running fully. Our company is small and the software has been a good fit. Pros The customer support has been wonderful. The program has been easy to use and generating reports is streamlined. Cons We are currently in the implementation stage with Datarails. At this time, I am not sure of the cons. Cons Because of how in-depth the reporting can get, there is a bit of a learning curve/a significant amount of upfront time investment to learn the platform and validate the initial reports created. We had the privilege of working with Lucian, who provided a hands on approach to helping us set up the software in a way that works for our business. No problem was too challenging for him! Pros Easy to use and great set up with the implementation team. We love how it links to excel and still use native excel features whilst bringing in the data from DR. Cons Takes a little bit of getting used to the set up with the mapping but otherwise its all very intuitive. You can easily customize how you want to view your data. Cons It is a self-service tool, so you need to understand how data tables work to get the most out of Datarails. Cons I suspect this may still be a challenging tool to use for some of our less tech-savvy team members and it may not scale to a true enterprise FP&A platform as we grow. They have a good implementation plan and dont rush us into getting what we need via support. Pros The easiness of refreshing a connection to our homegrown ERP and the data magically appearing. It has cut a day off of our close, and as a very small company that is a huge win. Cons It does need a lot of fine tuning to get things exactly right. Pros I like and I'm sure our Finance Team would agree that the Excel interface is a familiar friend that has been easy to relate to and has made learning the product easier than it might otherwise have been. Pros The ability to consolidate data from nine separate instances on QB's online. I'm just getting done with the implementation but am enthusiastic on what I will be able to do once fully implemented. Cons I haven't used it enough to have a Con to speak about here. Cons I find learning how to use Datarails is not as easy - there are a lot of great features and tools within that it would take a non-techy person some time to get comfortable using it. When I am given a tool to use at work, I want it to be quick to setup, easy to grasp, and for it to run smoothly. So far, Datarails has nailed all those needs. Pros The ease of use. Once I got my accounted created and set everything up with Excel, I was up and running rather quickly. I have had 0 problems since I started using Datarails. Cons I haven't run into any issues yet, so nothing! I started using Datarails in January of 2026, and after nearly 3 full months of use, it's been great.
