Not relevant Accounting ### "Misleading “Free Trial” and Appalling Customer Support" 1.0 Overall Rating 1.0 1.0 Ease of Use 3.0 3.0 Features 3.0 3.0 Customer Service 1.0 1.0 Likelihood to Recommend 0/10 November 4, 2025 I purchased a MotoPress plugin that was advertised as including a free trial, with the checkout page literally stating “Pay and start trial.” Naturally, I assumed this meant I could try the plugin risk-free and request a refund if it wasn’t suitable. My assumption was completely reasonable — the “free trial” wording also appears on other pages within the same Hotel Booking plugin environment, which the plugin I purchased depends on. So when the checkout reinforced that message, I believed the same trial conditions applied across their connected products. I realised within 24 hours that the plugin wouldn’t suit my needs and requested a refund right away. Instead of a professional or understanding response, I received dismissive, gaslighting replies from support. The representative twisted parts of my message, falsely claimed I hadn’t provided a reason for the refund (I clearly had), and replied in a defensive, accusatory tone rather than offering any genuine help. It’s misleading to advertise a free trial when there is no trial at all, and it’s unethical to treat customers this way when the misunderstanding stems from their own marketing. Their support seems designed to wear you down rather than provide genuine assistance. Warning to others: Be absolutely certain this plugin fits your exact needs before purchasing. Once they have your money, you’re unlikely to get any meaningful help or refund — even if their own checkout and related product pages give the impression of a free trial. Pros The setup was a bit clunky and the user interface felt dated, but it seemed to function reasonably well overall. It just didn’t suit the configuration I was aiming for. Cons The responses from support were dismissive and gaslighting, twisting what I’d said instead of helping. Their handling was unprofessional and misleading — overall a very disappointing experience. Using it for years we never had any problems with overbooking. Even at the busiest season time everything works very well, if set correctly. What is also very important is Motopress Tech Support who are working tirelessly to answer all questions you might have. It's been been a huge improvement over our previous booking system, Pros Cost effect and reliable booking system with reasonably good customization. Cons Automated email notifications require a plugin. The Notifier Plugin works reliably but it lacks the ability to set an exact time for sending scheduled emails to guests. . Switched from [Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/) The product, Wix Hotels was being phased out and was not being supported. There is no refund policy, which is rather disappointing. I encourage anyone considering a purchase to try setting the plugin up in a real-world situation. Here are a few things that I really was amazed at how poor this product is:Setting prices: Instead of the normal of a simple x per extra adult or child you have to manually set the price for each number and combination. The formatting: Each item has a class associated, but this isn´t documented so making anything even remotely presentable requires a lot of work.The booking process: Quite simply, it's really clunky. Nothing works quite as well as it could or should.Customer support: I´m not sure if support is provided by non-native English speakers or if they are just not very smart. I found dealing with support rather like arguing with a 4-year-old. The would quote a number of facts, but never actually relate that to my questions.Overall, just don´t waste your money, you are unlikely to implement something you are happy with. Pros The price - but given that I am discarding it after a couple of days, that's hardly a great selling point. Cons Just about everything. It simply has a lot of reviews and some nice demo sites. Beyond that, it is a pain to setup, no where near as flexible and functional as the documentation tries to make you believe.
