Pros I used this plugin on a website I designed for a client for his motel business in Yaoundé. His idea was to initiate online room reservations for footballers and supporters during the last African Cup of Nations in 2022.MotoPress has been highly useful and effective in serving this purpose. I personally qualify it as being simple to set up and effective when it comes to reservation management.It supports easy booking management, is highly customizable, and supports a variety of online payment options (even some local payments that actively operate in Cameroon), it has multicurrency support, and Channel Manager Integration which enables me to easily synchronize the available rooms across multiple online travel agencies and other booking platforms. Cons There are also some features that need to be improved.Even though I was able to fulfill my client's needs, however, I realized that MotoPress is limited in Advanced Features and Integrations it's extremely hard to accurately have a clear tracking of the absolute revenue system as there is not enough data that could potentially serve for easy tracking.The customer support is not adequate like most services I've been using. I will always recommend businesses with virtual products to integrate live support to their websites -It's not a big deal. It's what businesses are currently evolving into. Not relevant Accounting Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Misleading “Free Trial” and Appalling Customer Support" November 4, 2025 1.0 I purchased a MotoPress plugin that was advertised as including a free trial, with the checkout page literally stating “Pay and start trial.” Naturally, I assumed this meant I could try the plugin risk-free and request a refund if it wasn’t suitable. My assumption was completely reasonable — the “free trial” wording also appears on other pages within the same Hotel Booking plugin environment, which the plugin I purchased depends on. So when the checkout reinforced that message, I believed the same trial conditions applied across their connected products. I realised within 24 hours that the plugin wouldn’t suit my needs and requested a refund right away. Instead of a professional or understanding response, I received dismissive, gaslighting replies from support. The representative twisted parts of my message, falsely claimed I hadn’t provided a reason for the refund (I clearly had), and replied in a defensive, accusatory tone rather than offering any genuine help. It’s misleading to advertise a free trial when there is no trial at all, and it’s unethical to treat customers this way when the misunderstanding stems from their own marketing. Their support seems designed to wear you down rather than provide genuine assistance. Warning to others: Be absolutely certain this plugin fits your exact needs before purchasing. Once they have your money, you’re unlikely to get any meaningful help or refund — even if their own checkout and related product pages give the impression of a free trial. January 25, 2022 5.0 The overall experience has been great. I had some questions upon setting the plugin up and linking our calendar to other booking sites. Got support responses quickly, and got me on my way in no time. The plugin is easy to work with, straight forward, and can be adapted to any use or accommodation(s). Pros We already had our website designed and setup using Wordpress, the ability to just add this plugin, change a few things to our unique accommodations, match the design and we were on our way. Was easy to get setup and online. Cons The only thing I like the least of the plugin is how to organize past, present, abandoned bookings from your main list. If that was modified to allow better 'default' filtering, to see upcoming bookings without having to resort then by date. It would be golden, just an extra few clicks, but it would help. There were some features that we thought were included that were not like the ability to bill a percentage of the price to reserve a room and send an automatic follow-up email to collect the remainder of the bill before the reservation date. They do have some follow-up email options, but not that one. There are also some challenges with including extra services specific to children and adults. My advice is to do your research on their forum before you purchase and confirm that all of the features you will need are present. Do not make any assumptions! Pros It does exactly what we needed--allows online booking for a small inn with several seasons and pricing structures, sends confirmation emails, and syncs with the inn's VRBO calendar so that the calendars on the website and on VRBO are accurate in real time. They have an online forum that is quite extensive so that many questions or snags could be resolved without creating a support ticket. Cons When you do need to create a support ticket, you will wait a long time for a response. They will help you solve your problem, but it will probably take a week. Presented well to work with my website Cons Essential to update bookings taken from external booking websites. However, fails to update cancellations from booking.com leaving my own website in turmoil. Everything cancelled from booking.com needs to be deleted manually on motopress which is painfully time consuming and leads to errors. There is no refund policy, which is rather disappointing. I encourage anyone considering a purchase to try setting the plugin up in a real-world situation. Here are a few things that I really was amazed at how poor this product is:Setting prices: Instead of the normal of a simple x per extra adult or child you have to manually set the price for each number and combination. The formatting: Each item has a class associated, but this isn´t documented so making anything even remotely presentable requires a lot of work.The booking process: Quite simply, it's really clunky. Nothing works quite as well as it could or should.Customer support: I´m not sure if support is provided by non-native English speakers or if they are just not very smart. I found dealing with support rather like arguing with a 4-year-old. The would quote a number of facts, but never actually relate that to my questions.Overall, just don´t waste your money, you are unlikely to implement something you are happy with. Its solid built, quick on loadtime and after the learning curve easy to navigate and change. I hope motopress continues to develop plugins! I really enjoyed working with it and the support staff. It is a quality product. Side note, please consider making a scheduling plugin for classes like at a Gym. We had need of something recently and the market just doesn't have anything that is both reasonably priced or user friendly. ;) Pros I LOVE how versatile the product is. Having the ability to customize something that was built for a hotel for a single home rental made it high on the list during my original search. Plus how easily it integrated with the Divi theme. Customer support was fantastic, I had questions and they responded quickly and with actual help, not just 'its your theme that is the problem' that I have heard from many other developers. It is definitely one of the easiest plugins i've had to learn how to use after I got over the initial learning curve. It's really user friendly, i can tell a lot of work went into the backend to make it easy to navigate. Top notch work. Cons I am a very visual learner, while the videos were super comprehensive and well covered, however there was something about the audio recording was difficult to understand. I don't believe this was any fault of the speaker, I think it was just a bad mic that recorded poorly and about it that made it concentrate on the content. Adding subtitles so people could watch without sound might help. Or just update the voice over with better sound quality. While it plays well with divi, i did struggle in the initial set up because I had to customize the shortcodes often for it to display exactly how I wanted ad that kinda makes the whole divi extension purposeless. While it is made for a much bigger hotel set up downsizing had a bit more of a learning curve for me. I didn't need all the pages for searching, just basically a 'select your available day and straight to booking. I didn't feel like this was as covered as well (it was covered, just a little briefly) the plethora of other information about this plugin that is provided. Review Source DG Danny G. Cons Note: iCal syncing in Motopress is only one way. It downloads my channel manager bookings iCal however if there is a cancelation or change it does not update this in Motopress. After first asking the sales team my question about their product features I was advised to contact technical support. I raised a support ticket to ask about bookings that had been cancelled but not updated in Motopress and they advised "we are unable to help you without extended support". So I bought it and was then immediately information "we don't support cancellations and you'll need to cancel it manually within Motopress". All they needed to do was provide me with information about their product features. They also need a better sync that can handle cancelations/changes. Other notes: the iCal sync is MINIMAL and won't import any booking information (names, emails etc) even if it is provided by the channel manager. It assigns a booking number that has no relation to my channel manager so it's a pain to reconcile if I do need to cancel them. Be careful, and make sure you don't buy their support service without first asking if the problem you have can actually be resolved. It was relatively easy to install and set up. It did take a long time, but that's to be expected. Cons The plugin didn't work well with my theme. I asked support in advance if I could return if this was the case and they said 'yes'. When I tried to return I got the runaround even after providing a copy of my chat transcript.
