The integration with Paylocity was simple. Requesting background checks outside of Paylocity's Recruitment module is very easy. Pros The convenience of the integration with our HRIS. The website is super easy as well. We get a bundkes package that is budget friendly and customizable. Cons I dont have any complaints. Checkr is great. We customized our package, and saved money. It even reports things down to a traffic or parking violation. Cons Checkr has unreliable timeframes--sometimes you receive a background check quickly, other times it takes weeks with little help from customer support. Again, we love the integration piece - makes life easier. Pros Checkr integrates easily into Paylocity which is very nice not having to switch between platforms. It is also very easy to order a background check and to customize a background check. Cons It is not easy to understand in terms of how far the background check goes and to what depth it goes. I was having a hard time finding out if it was a 7 year look back period or farther. It looks like they have added a 10 year look back period, but it would be nice to see more detail on the report. Sometimes the reviews can take longer than desired, but that's because of external factors, not Checkr. Pros The user interface is easy to navigate, and it works seamlessly behind the scenes with our member database. Cons We have not run into any hiccups with Checkr. We can start a background check right from a person's profile and a request is sent to the person who has asked to volunteer and they complete it without us having to be responsible for the safety of any of their personal information. Checkr lets us know when the background check is complete (usually within 24 hours) and we are able to print the report for our files and it automatically updates their status to approved, approved with caution, or red flags it because of a concern brought up by the background check. I like the ease of using it, and it's global presence Pros I like the ease of using checkr and the integrations its provides with Greenhouse. I like it overall as a tool. Pros It was easy for me to get in and use it with no previous experience. It was simple to send and easy to see where people are in the process. Cons Nothing, I had a great experience. I was worried about getting a lot of emails, but it was easy to adjust my settings to only receive the ones I needed. Owner Real Estate Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Terrible candidate experience, unfathomable delays, zero customer support," August 31, 2024 1.0 This is another example of a software company that believes they can take all humans out of a process that requires human judgement and intervention. Not all court systems can or will be plugged into digital databases and they require investigators (or researchers as Checkr calls them) to show up in person to courthouses to do records pulls at public access terminals. This coupled with their almost nonexistent customer service would make anyone lose their minds. I don't know where all these 4 and 5 star reviews are coming from but they seem like paid, incentivized, or bot generated reviews. Pros Easy to implement. It appears on the surface to plug in with a lot of Google and other services. Cons 1\. Terrible candidate experience. It took weeks to complete simple criminal history check on a few candidates due to undisclosed "court delays." It should not take weeks to verify someone with no criminal history is clean. Every other provider that we have used or background check that was run on me took a few days at most. 2. Abysmal customer service: If you are lucky enough to get someone on the phone (which is almost impossible) it is obviously an overseas call center and not an account manager which is useless. Would recommend to another company running that needs employment screening background checks. Pros Checkr integrates with our ATS and sends background checks to applicants via email and phone. The information requested is quick and easy for an applicant to input, and background checks are fast and accurate. Cons Occasionally, some background checks will take an exceptionally long time. While it is not directly in Checkr's control how fast a county court responds to an information request, it would be nice to receive BC status updates or a "we resubmitted the request" email, something to note that this background check request hasn't been lost. HCP Recruiter Hospital & Health Care Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Fast background checks all done online" January 27, 2022 5.0 I love using Checkr, is easy, has multiple reports you can run, makes onboarding easier, looks and sounds legit and they keep you informed of the progress. Pros Checkr is easy to use, you can send the invite to candidates quickly and effortlessly via email but also send a direct link if needed. The whole process is easy for the user and in most cases, you get results quickly - sometimes in minutes. If the candidate is scheduling an appointment to get a TB test or Physical exam you can check where they scheduled the appointment. It's also possible to resend invited that expired. Search is easy and you can easily take a look if a report is complete. The background check process has clearly mentioned steps and you can track the process live. Checker is giving you an estimate of the duration and they are great at informing users via email whenever they have important updates. Cons When sending invites they often end up in the Spam/Junk folder so we need to give a heads up to candidates to check there as well. If sending more than one invite the link in the email will always bring the candidate on the same page (asking to fill in name, surname, contact phone, and email... they get confused when they have to do it over and over clicking on each link in every email they get. I feel Checkr is super busy, with a lot of users, and support is overwhelmed and therefore slow to respond, sometimes takes days/weeks. Review Source Marielle Francine S. We’ve been through 3 different customer success managers, all seem to be disappearing whenever you’d follow up on something they said they would do. I reached out to senior level leaders multiple times and was promised help, but I have never felt as helpless with any other vendor I’ve worked with in the past as I am with Checkr. I went through the correct channels but nothing gets resolved. RUN AWAY AND GO WITH ANOTHER BACKGROUND CHECK SERVICE PROVIDER. It took a couple of months to finally get the change made even though customer service said it was changed. Pros The software works great and depending on the response of the people we are requesting the check on, it usually pretty quick. Summary of reports can be seen easily and can be accessed easily. However, there are just a few bugs that need to be worked out. Pros I love how quickly reports are turned around. Easy to use for both our candidates and internally. Cons I'm an admin and work in the corporate office. I need access to see all reports in the system. However, I also run background checks for all corporate employees. Because I'm an Admin, it's an either all or nothing notification on if a BG/Drug Screen is complete. I don't want to be notified of all BGs in our system (of over 5000 EEs, but need to be notified of internal BG/Drug screen completions.) I currently have to calendar a reminder to check if reports are done which is an administrative frustration. Reason for choosing Checkr Easy use, price, customizations of packages. I really like how clear the Misdemeanors or other offense are listed on the reports. Cons Nothing yet.... We haven't come across any major issues.. The results shared by the APIs can then be used for making a decision on the candidate based on the background checks Cons Not much wrong about this software. It integrated nicely with your systems and for any issues which arise in integration, the customer can help you out for resolving those.
