It can run everything from criminal background checks to educational and employment checks as well. Pros The system is very user friendly and is a one stop shop for all related background checks including MVR and Social Security checks. Cons Nothing, it offers everything necessary to run a variety of checks to be compliant with the various state regulations we have to follow. The platform is user-friendly, and the automation has helped streamline our background check process significantly. Turnaround times are generally quick, and the integration with our systems has made the workflow much more efficient. While there are occasional delays or hiccups, the support team is responsive, and the benefits far outweigh the challenges. Pros My favorite part about Checkr is that the platform seamlessly integrates with our Paylocity system, so it feels as though it is a one-stop-shop making our pre-employment checks easy. The background results also return to us very quickly which helps minimize delays. Cons One thing I like least about Checkr is the lack of real-time updates or clearer communication when delays happen in the background check process. It can create confusion for both candidates and the HR team, especially when timelines are tight and onboarding schedules are impacted. I believe it's the fastest and most user-friendly system and it comes at an affordable price. Checkr ensures all documentation is handled appropriately and provides background data quickly, supporting a smooth onboarding process regardless of integration. Pros Checkr seamlessly integrates with our HCM system, providing a quick, easy, and efficient onboarding process. Cons Prior to this integration, we were using Checkr as a standalone background check system and occasionally the checks would cost more than anticipated. It is user friendly and can be tailored to meet your specific needs. Pros One simplified solution for managing all of our pre-employment and post-accident screening needs. It works seamlessly with our existing Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to automate data entry. Cons Not a fully integrated solution. They also have a great support system that you can ask questions, and they respond very quickly. One of my favorite systems to work with. Pros They are so easy to use/ user friendly, and their customer support rocks! There is no real learning curve, in my opinion. I also love the feature they have where a candidate can provide an explanation to a crime or issue on their background check. Cons Nothing so far! I've been using Checkr for a year now and do not regret changing from a previous provider! Also, this integrates well with Paylocity. Customer service has also been great to work with and always responds in a reasonable time. Pros Ease of use - the platform makes it easy to see the full list of candidates right on the home screen. Just a click to see the report. Cons I only utilize Checkr for background checks, so it's hard for me to speak to cons since I'm not utilizing every resource the platform offers. June 25, 2025 1.0 Satisfactory but when assistance is needed the only option is the chat which is very slow. Not satisfied with their Customer Service practice. Pros Background checks are quick and they offer a variety of services. Too bad they can't back that up with speaking with the customer directly Cons A human only calls to sell a service but don't offer the courtesy to call a customer directly when assistance is needed. It has made onboarding so much more streamlined, and the platform itself is easy to navigate. The whole process couldn't be easier. Pros Checkr has made it so easy to process background checks. It is fully integrated in our HRIS system, so we can start the process directly in the candidate profile. The system is easy to navigate, from building out packages to reviewing background checks. Cons Checkr could improve their support. They have a great chat feature, but it is next to impossible to get phone support. Having a dedicated support team would be a huge improvement. They have succeeded in driving me away as a customer. Pros They used to do a good job, not so much anymore. Cons Absolutely horrible customer service. They have closed their support phone number and the chat / email support is slow and unhelpful. They cannot address issues and suggested solution are not complete of possible in their product. Cons It didn't have what we needed but they fixed it for us once we reached out to them. So really, no cons here! Reason for choosing Checkr It integrated with our payroll platform much easier, the cost and the location of the labs for our national company. It had more states and labs close to our employees. Pros I can't say I liked anything about my experience with Checkr. Cons You can't speak to any customer service representative. All email or chat. Background took a long time, weeks, and they kept pushing the date back. In addition, it only went back 7 years which I was not aware of so it did not help. Someone could have been a serial killer 8 years ago and you would not know it. It was a complete waste of time and money. Would never use this company again. However, using Checkr on check the BGC on our drivers is its very punctual and easy to use and utilize. Pros The features that is most impactful, specially to us, is the background check. Using this we are able to see their BGC result and assess what action we will take based on that. Also, we do not need to send the details of the result of their BGC because Checkr have an automated message that comes through the driver's email once their BGC result is ready or if they have an issue regarding to that. Plus, Checkr is so easy and convenient to use, whether you are first timer. We can definitely process easily with the help of this software. Cons The cons that I can see on using Checkr is that when we search the drivers manually using their name, email, or even UUID, it sometimes occupy alot of our time. It takes 2-3 minutes before its shows up. Furthermore, since we are assisting drivers and we usually need to see the candidate page and not the report page. It will be more less hassle if we click the driver's BGC from their application that route us to candidate page instead of report page. Review Source RB Raleigh B. Would recommend to another company running that needs employment screening background checks. Pros Checkr integrates with our ATS and sends background checks to applicants via email and phone. The information requested is quick and easy for an applicant to input, and background checks are fast and accurate. Cons Occasionally, some background checks will take an exceptionally long time. While it is not directly in Checkr's control how fast a county court responds to an information request, it would be nice to receive BC status updates or a "we resubmitted the request" email, something to note that this background check request hasn't been lost. They have also come into the office for seminars and are great service Pros Easy to use, easy to navigate, Checkr is always good with letting us know about new updates and product features. Cons Sometimes things that are flagged up as being "Consider" are often not real major issues. Reason for choosing Checkr I think management decided Checkr offered what we needed for a great price- they have worked closely with GH to get what we need and any issues that arise.
