We also had the issue of only certain people knowing how to use our previous background check resource and it became a bit of an issue trying to understand who had been screened and who still needed to be checked. Checkr solved all of that Pros The biggest perk to using Checkr is the integration with Planning Center. It makes the whole process very easy and almost effortless. We run background checks on all our volunteers at our church. I can log into People on Planning Center and will go to the volunteers profile in People and then execute the background check from the view. It's awesome and a perfect perk to using planning center! Cons We have been using Checkr for about 3 months and I have yet to find and issue or probably with it. It meets my every need Reason for choosing Checkr \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] has awful UI and the experience is very poor. You can get the background checks done but with zero frills.Checkr on the other hand is super easy to use and aesthetically pleasing. Pros Checkr is easy to use and implement with little to no maintenance. Cons Sometimes it's difficult when a potential volunteer or staff puts in the wrong information. I like the option of just being able to send a request to a future employee and then they can fill in the details and pay for the check. Generally reports have a quick turn around. Ever since, I have not gone back. I've been using Checkr for 2 years now and don't have any complains about them. They provide you with appropriate information to make sure you do your background checks properly and legally. Cons So far, I'm very happy with Checkr. Been great so far in the 8-9 months we've used them! Pros Easy to login (login with Google). Very easy to order a background check with just a few clicks and all you need is the candidates email address. A few options available as well, depending on your need. I like that you can go into "test" mode so you can train/show someone how to use Checkr without accidentally ordering someone's background check. Cons I do wish when you go to select which package you want, it would list the price of each package (Motor Vehicle Report vs. Pro vs. Standard). Transparency is always appreciated. Pros I love the ease of use. It's very easy for both the candidates and the admin to use which makes the process quicker than other platforms. Cons I don't like the payment portal. We are a large church and have a lot of members to keep track of. Checkr is integrated with our Planning Center system so that helps us tremendously! Pros Checkr's process to interact with our office and the candidate doing the background screen is quick and easy to use. Cons I would like to be able to edit the request form that is emailed to candidates. Making it more personable and precise to the area of ministry the person is applying for would help make it a little more efficient for us. I’m in charge of hiring freelance workers from time to time and everyone needs to have their background checked before they can do the job. I’ve looked into other software but this Ine has the best interface. Cons When I first started using it, the software would crash. But after ungradong my computer it started working just fine. Outside of the startup issues, the platform works as intended and is priced accordingly. Pros The system works well and is fairly easy to navigate. The price, for what you get, is competitive. It integrates with HR systems, such as BambooHR, to help automate this to avoid manual work for the user. Cons Implementation and the initial first use is difficult, as you trust that their team set it up properly, which they didn't for me. This led to two versions of every single test type and some overall confusion on which test type to assign and run. This also led to some pricing issues that had to be sorted out. Customer service, initially, was not responsive and was quick to blame the customer versus look into the problem in a deeper way.
