The only hard part is choosing the user each time, you can’t keep retaking images, and it gets slow since it’s online platform. Pros It’s extremely user friendly. It operates and looks similar to FaceBook. The program is clear and not grainy like old Dentrix Cons If you are logged in on a computer, it doesn’t automatically choose you as the provider. The program is very basic and other than sending the electronic claims, and charting patients, its pretty much useless. It is missing many features that are "being reviewed" or "coming in the future" but that doesn't help us in the present. So if you need zero features... you might be interested. Cons Honestly... just about everything it does could use some upgrading. I could go on and on about what it doesn't do. We are switching software in our office. You can't run a successful business with this software. Pros I think overall the system is very easy to use. Ascend is constantly updating with new features to make my job easier. Cons I think the insurance section could be better. I love that I can view my day from any device with the internet. And can work from anywhere on system. Pros This system did NOT integrate with our previous system Easy Dental! I love the beautiful graphics & updates. I need more training! Cons Least of all, I disliked that this system did NOT integrate with our previous system Easy Dental. The trainer we had from Dentrix was great and helpful. There are a lot of extra steps for what I do. OUr clinic staff loves it and feels they can do more with it than the previous software. Pros I like the Document Center, the Journal for tracking notes and phone conversations and the family file. Cons I found our previous software more friendly to use. I don't know what I would do without it! Pros This software is easy to learn and use. I am not great with techy things but I was able to adapt to using this format quickly. Have someone come and do a demonstration that includes office staff, since they're the ones who have to use it! Pros The deposit slip is the best thing I have found so far. I regret I'm unable to find anything else. I'm sure there is more but I've yet to experience it. Cons It takes way too many steps to print, check out patients, scheule appointments. To change insurance companies for patients is a joke! Too time consuming and confusing!! This is just the tip of the iceberg! Oh yes, recall is from the stone ages! The only real problem has been not being able to chart what we would like on the visual chart. Pros We like that it's web based and easy to access from anywhere. It allows me to easily help patients when we may be out of the office. Cons I do wish it were more flexible and allowed more individual adjustments - particularly with charting.
