Additionally, they've made critical feature improvements to save lots of time. Cons I have a growing list of features I feel need to be added. This include donor data fields, exporting capabilities and third party app integrations. There are also several features that are in the works, listed as "coming soon" that I must wait patiently for. There is much that frustrated me as features would crash or I could not customize to my satisfaction. The customer service is incredibly difficult to reach, which has also caused major issues. The host media very well, and provide great features for categorizing what we store on their platform. Pros If what you want is an inexpensive web platform that allows you to host and stream media, as well as build aesthetically pleasing websites and apps, Subsplash is a great option. It is easy to stream and categorize media, and the push notification feature is easy to use. Cons Customization is a major struggle for Subsplash. Their integrations with third-party software lack the features necessary to make them worthwhile, and the user/designer seems to be limited to features that the platform has built itself. We are very media focused (delivering videos each week to our home groups). And with our multiple media categories, Subsplash makes it easy to deliver on our app and on over-the-top TV boxes like Apple TV and roku. Pros The app is simple to set up and their team helps you follow all the steps to put it on the App Store. The app is easy to use and customizable enough for all church needs. Uploading media and information is simple, and it's seamlessly added throughout the platform, from the app to the website. The website, while simple, is still very powerful and gives your church a great online presence. When you have multiple sermons, sermon series, informational and educational media, the media player is second to none. Your videos are searchable, archived with great organization, and playable on any device. Giving is very straightforward and very easy for the donor, while giving enough administrative features to make the back-end useful. Lastly there are a suite of features that enhance your online presence. From fill-in-notes to event management to messaging, Subsplash delivers almost everything a church needs to be a relevant, media powerhouse. Cons Subsplash comes with a hefty price tag that is a large investment for churches. And while most of the features are what churches need, some will find limitations on the platform such as tweaking the app and website to look exactly like you want. The development and launching went flawlessly for us and while we're pretty competent with tech, I really attribute it to their intuitive and simple software and interface. Pros Both the App Design and Web Design were intuitive and very well integrated. We are tech savvy but the ease were were able to create large amounts of content was almost rewarding. Cons There were a couple odds and ends that you just had to (such as small amounts of coding when adding links to the app without all the web menus). Also, having to have 3 sizes for any image attached to a menu item. They have the ability to help you create and link a phone apps and websites together along with other third party sites and/or software to help you achieve your marketing goals for your organization. Pros Subsplash is pretty user-friendly and you have the ability to manage many features of your app, your website, even our church's giving platform all through Subsplash, and it integrates very well across devices. Cons There was a point in time where we struggled to get updates for our app but Subsplash was very good at handling our needs and helped us get everything moving again. November 4, 2019 5.0 Pros With a bit a creativity and some graphic knowledge, you can make an amazing app using Subsplash! the creative control I have over our app is great, and our possibilities are endless. Cons The only really "Con" I can think of is that there isn't just a simple way to add text to an app. Everything is graphic based so to work around this is to make a graphic of just text and insert it that way. Not usually able to directly speak with technicians but on the billing and basic questions side, someone was almost always available. Pros The ease of use and UX is great. Easy to get app updated pushed to all users and build out was a breeze! Cons The cost of the app was pretty high. Especially since there is very little customization apart from text and images. Anything that I wanted to develop or add I either had to find a workaround (build a website to load within the app) or just not have. Got frustrating after a while. We found that their app and giving platforms are comprehensive and easy to implement. Pros I appreciate the ability to have all of our media in one place, which helps us have a substantial library for people to reference. The app and giving are also pretty simple to set up and use, and look very nice and simple, with some tweaking. They also have very responsive customer support. Cons There are some features, especially on the web development side (with snap pages specifically) that seemed like no-brainers to incorporate, but were not features that were available. My church would have probably failed if I had not discovered Subsplash back in 2015 Cons The SnapPages web builder is not as intuitive and effective as their other products. This feature is not as competitive as it needs to be compared to other faith-based web builder software; nor is it as effective it needs to be in SEO embedded functionality. What you receive for the cost makes the purchase worth it. It is simple to navigate and well designed. Subsplash giving also makes it simple for people to give one time or set up recurring giving. Pros Subsplash is an easy to use app company that specializes in churches. Subspash provides the framework so all you need to do is add the content and pictures. If you do not have the staff or ability to build your own app, this is a worthwhile solution. The greatest aspect of this app is how easy it is to access sermons. It allows you to watch the sermon on video, listen to the audio (even with a black screen while you exercise) and even download notes or a take home page all within the same location. Cons The one aspect of the app that is least desirable is the calendar feature. It only provides a daily calendar and does not give you the option to view weekly or monthly. Obviously, it makes scrolling down a month or two in advance difficult. We also have a glitch in our app that has not been able to be fixed by Subsplash. When you open up our calendar in the app, it shows an old date as the first event. Pros We appreciate the ease of use, not only with administration, but with donors. We also felt it was a good value as far as pricing. Cons We have a couple of donors that when we transfer they are not linking to our Breeze software. I am looking into this. It seems to be a syncing issue. There are more affordable options out there that essentially do the same thing and cost way less per year but they aren't as beautifully designed. Pros The ease of use of the MAS dashboard made managing our church app and giving experience really easy! The back end of the system is really simple once you learn what goes where. Cons The onboarding process of the software was easy but the organization purchasing the app is left to navigate a pretty complicated app system with Apple and Android markets. Not for the faint of heart or someone who doesn't understand the lingo. A big hurdle to jump over to make the launch happen. Pros Once you are emailed the link, it is easy to set up to have your giving go directly to the organization(s) of your choice. I love the recurring payment option and the drop down for multiple categories for giving. I love receiving notifications of my anticipated giving so that I can make sure the funds have been properly deposited before withdrawal. Our organization set up the messaging system which has been wonderful to receive timely messages as soon as information is available. Cons I would like the header bar to be horizontal versus vertical - like reading a book left to right. They are easy to get in touch with, and do a great job guiding you through the process of building your app, and troubleshooting along the way. Additionally there are regular feature updates and additions that tell you they are a company interesting in progress and maximizing the potential of their product. Pros The ease of use makes this app a no brained. The dashboard feature is simple, intuitive, and easy to navigate. It makes uploading your graphics, entering content, and arranging your app a snap! Cons There aren’t really any cons that stick out to me. But one thing I would love to see happen is the inclusion of iPad access with the basic package. I don't always like having to schedule an appointment to call for support, but, that's the world we live in. Subspaslh has been able to roll with changes put on them by Apple, etc. and has been able to convey those changes to the client well. Pros Excellent design and functionality. Easy for the user to navigate. Easy for the client to customize (within various templates). Cons It is rather expensive, but you get value from the app, in terms of users and usage. The dashboard can occasionally stop saving, but a refresh will clear that up. They provide an easy to maintain platform to publish all our most valuable content that makes it accessible to anyone with a smartphone! Pros I love that Subsplash is committed to constantly growing, improving, developing, and offering better and more robust solutions for churches to do ministry better. There's lots of flexibility in how your content is displayed and delivered to users, but still simple enough that it doesn't take a degree in web development to make something awesome. Their customer service is also top-notch, and the client success managers are always willing to help make the platform the best it can be for each individual church. Cons The way the calendar function is set up makes it a little tedious to have the same event spread across multiple calendars (i.e. all events vs. just events that require registration). They are so helpful every time we reach out to them and they are always improving on the software adding more features and making it better. The best part is that you can tell it is a ministry for them as well. They are Kingdom minded and have even prayed with me over the phone for our ministry! Pros What I like most about the Subsplash software is that it is so easy to use and integrates the video into our existing website. I don't have any training in web design, but I was able to create an app for our ministry that is functional and people use it everyday. Cons I don't see any cons to this software. Pros I like that different churches or ministries can make a layout of their own. It makes it easier to differentiate between apps by different churches or ministries. I also like th ability to upload and watch video/podcasts. I also feel the article layout can be made very easy on the eyes if the church or ministries does it right. Cons I feel this software is limited. The ministries can only do so much with the app, and users have nothing extra they can do other see what the administrator has uploaded. I feel that when I user maes an account, it is only to save different articles. They are easy to work with and answer questions quickly. The only time we had a technical issue they were on top of it immediately. Pros Subsplash is a very easy-to-use backend system to host media content. It has allowed me to host all of our audio and video content and push the content through multiple channels including a new app, a website, and on-demand channels (Roku and Apple TV). Cons One of the only things I have found so far that I don't care for is their branding on multiple pages. They need a Whitelabel option. Reason for choosing Subsplash Subsplash is definitely the most "bang for your buck" when it comes to a multi-channel media platform (hosting online, app, and on-demand content). December 12, 2018 4.0 Pros The dashboard interface is user friendly and relatively easy to navigate. You can enter a calendar feed so you don't have to update another calendar separately. They are adding some new location based notification features that sound kinda fun, but haven't looked into what they cost. Cons I generally only download apps if they have a feature that I can't get through the website. I have apps for messaging, taking pictures, and locating family. I have an app for my credit union so I can deposit checks. But, I don't quite get this one. We put the same content on it that we also want to put on the website, and I've found our regular website generally loads faster than the app, at least on my phone. Apparently, people are using it (wish there were more stats available about usage), but honestly I only open it to check and make sure it looks right.
