Before Ziflow, meetings were called and everyone sat around the proof and offered markups. Ziflow allows us to mark-up proofs on our own time. Pros I like how easy it is to add your comments, with all of the various tools available. Arrows, boxes, multiple text choices, etc all make it easy to communicate changes. I also like how you can see what other people say, in real-time. Cons When a proof is approved, you no longer have visibility to any later proofs that get published. I would like the ability to access later proofs, even if I approved an earlier one based on my work function. Meetings are shorter because people can review the information at their leisure. We are able to keep better tabs on the changes made to the documents as well, therefore less will fall through the cracks. Pros I like that I can just simply upload a design or video and then everybody can markup and add comments to it directly on Ziflow -- no need to send emails back and forth with a bunch of screenshots. I also appreciate that it tracks approvals so there are never lost communications. I really like the threaded comments as well because they help when there are disagreements about changes. Cons The free version of Ziflow limits the number of files that can be uploaded which is terrible for when I am testing new things. Also sometimes when uploading large files it takes forever and it really bothers me. It sounds petty, however I feel that the interface has far too many buttons and I often find myself clicking the wrong button by accident. And now they simply drag & drop the files and I can get back to doing real work. Pros It is doing a good job handling the large files without freezing (which is way more than I could ever say for our email server). The “Spaces” feature is fine for organizing once I finally get around to using it. It does upload pretty quickly on this awful Office wifi. Cons Honestly the price is too high for what it does and one major complaint I have is trying to find older documents I've already downloaded is an absolute nightmare. And also occasionally the interface freezes up and I'll need to refresh 2-3 times before I can see the file preview. I wish there were better tracking features in the express version so I would be able to tell if the client actually opened the video/file. Previously some clients printed, then marked up proofs, then scanned and sent back. Others just sent a list of updates through email. Others marked up in Adobe Acrobat. Great to have everyone on the same page using the same tool! Pros We needed a proofing tool to streamline our approval process internally and externally. I like that we can do internal reviews before sending proofs to clients. This helps me train my Senior staff to pay more attention to details and make sure they're catching any issues with proofs before sending to the client. Clients love the ability to see previous versions. The software also allows for accountability on updates. We're able to track if updates were made for clients and if clients missed updates. Cons Overall the product is very intuitive, but with so many options in the proofing proces, onboarding can be difficult at first and training clients can take some time. But once everyone is on the same page on how the process works, it's a great tool and worth the effort. I can't say enough good things about it and I'm constantly recommending it to everyone I talk to in the industy, when discussing proofing or our workflows. Pros I enjoy how easy it is for us to mark up proofs at every step of the way, both internally and for our clients. As a project manager, I especially appreciate how seemlessly it integrates with our project management software, to ensure approvals happen fast and in a more automated fashion. Cons The way it integrates with Microsoft Word for copywriting and with some of the web features seem a bit clunky. RE Reviewer CEO Used the software for: Less than 1 year ### "Ziflow " 3.0 June 26, 2019 It’s ok.... can probably have someone build this for me for $500 overseas with the same functions. Most customers do not use the tools to show changes. Mostly everything is emailed or commented. Pros Editing and communication area for the customer. Cons Backend search is not the greatest. Having a google type of search on top for everything that is available in our account is needed. Very hard to search for certain proofs.
