We're able to better anticipate when employees need new work and when we can take on new projects.

Pros

The ability to dynamically adapt time estimates for projects is extremely important for our design projects. We can keep pace with the changing nature of our projects and clients.

Cons

We'd prefer to be able to use Monograph for billing and tracking payments the way we currently do with Harvest.

### "A must have for small Architectural firms"

Pros

Monograph makes it very easy to set up, track, and manage projects all within the same platform. Our team is able to fill out their time sheets and track project progress with ease.

Cons

Monograph falls short in granular task management. Our team would benefit from email notifications when tasks/deadlines are assigned to them and when they are completed.

Overall I couldn't be happier with Monograph. The time I save exponentially makes up for the cost per month of a single user in relationship to a billable hour I can spend on a project.

Pros

As a sole practitioner my time is spread across every facet of running the business and Monograph helps me stay organized and efficient. The project planning, time tracking, fee management and invoicing facets are invaluable allowing me to spend more billable time working on projects.

Cons

I appreciate that Monograph continually evolves and update features, but I would like to have more customizable/editing features on the Invoicing end.

Its easy to use and lets me know what projects im working on in the week. as well as it lets me know how many hours I will be working on throughout the project

Cons

There are not much that I dont like about this software. Maybe I would say if It was on an app vs going to the browser?

So far we are working on building our workflow with the system, Its good and simple to organize projects and resources. It saves a lot of hours and I really look forward to those free hours on getting more projects.

Pros

I like the way the software is built for our industry, the developers understand our unique way of managing operations and business. It comes with an amazing team that is there for you all the time.

Cons

I think there are two areas of improvement 1- Schedules, although the scheduling tool is very good for team management it lacks a mode where you can have a more detailed, presentation type schedule, to share with the clients and consultants. 2- Invoicing, we could use an online payment option with the invoicing system.

Harvest is your for time tracking and invoicing but it lacked the ability to plan and manage resources, I tried Forecast but it was too weak and never felt it was a good option. WE tried Core to replace Harvest but it was just impossible, too complicated and not developed for our needs.

### "User Friendly "

Pros

Love how easy and user friendly Monograph is. It has the features that we need without the frills and complications of other softwares. The team at Monograph has been so helpful and the access to all their articles has been a huge benefit.

Cons

There are a couple features that I wish Monograph had, like batch AR reporting and a setting to create an invoice template, but hopefully these are features that can be added soon.

We were not getting the data we needed, while having someone doing data entry almost full-time, which was a waste of time. The implementation process alone took over 6 months and when spending as much as you are on their software, 6 months is way too much time.

It has been so nice to be able to graphically review and edit the hours I spend on a project. It is more intuitive, accessible, and easily editable than a traditional timesheet.

Pros

Time tracking is easy, although monograph doesn't easily connect with very many payroll or HR systems, requiring information to be extracted and entered manually.

Cons

The graphics don't always align with the data (showing that a milestone has passed when the due date is actually today), you can't filter projects by milestone - which is how most offices prioritize their time/tasks. Every time I extend a phase of a project, monograph randomly moves the milestone date, which requires going back and reentering the milestone date....

it's good to keep track and like the graphic

Pros

easy to navigate the website, since I can see what other teammates are working on, it's very transparent.

Cons

I wish it has the time subtraction factor per each project. it only shows overall in one particular year or not be able to take the data out into excel or pdf is challenging

The overall experience is very good. The interface is well laid out and clear to read and the customer service requests are responded to very quickly. Implementing it in our firm has been very easy and all our employees have responded very positively to using it as their hourly time sheet.

Pros

The software does a very good job of helping project managers track time sheets, personnel, and projects together. The display is laid out very well and does a very good job of helping visualize project timelines and budgets in relation to each other. It is very easy for everyday users to input their hours into the time sheets for easy tracking.

Cons

I would like more reporting features incorporated into it to leverage the information. Since we have all the aggregate data of projects, hours, sectors, ect. it would be nice to have more available options to filter, sort, and compare that data.

### "Getting better and better"

Overall experience is great. The team listens to anything and everything.

Pros

Simplicity. The interface and functionality are created for architects. The team is growing. The software is getting better and better. They are very mindful of how to add new features and how it is going to affect the user's experience.

Cons

The feature set is small, but growing each quarter. But to be honest that is not much of a "Con" since all the other softwares we researched are so packed full of "stuff" that you don't know which thing really matters to your business.

Monograph's high contrast colors and automated data visualization makes it easy for us to understand how our time is being used on all our firm's projects. Having one software to manage projects, time, and budget streamlines our workflow.

Cons

I wish there was a way to compare hours worked, hours planned, and hours assigned.

### "Best Timesheet System!"

I have always disliked taking the time to put my time into a timesheet in the past. I no longer dislike it with this program. It's incredibly easy to use and I enjoy being able to track my progress over an extended period of time. Much better than our previous method of using a spreadsheet.

Pros

I really enjoy being able to clearly see how much time I have put into a specific project. Being able to look back and get a better understanding of where my time has been utilized is a powerful tool.

Cons

I would like to be able to have all of my previous timesheet items on the next week's timesheet instead of needing to put everything back into the new timesheet. Also, the ability to search for a project by typing would be very useful.

Pros

I just started using monograph and I like it so far. I appreciate the ability to see what phase of a project I am working in. And also I like seeing the hours/fee we have already used or have left to use on a project.

Cons

It is difficult to organize the milestones and tasks for projects. I do not understand how to really differentiate between internal "tasks" and external meetings with clients AND dates that we need to submit or complete stages of the project. There are a lot of levels and tasks within a project. I am not sure how we are going to integrate that into Monograph and have it be useful.

Great, the customer service is awesome and I know this is a new tool that they are continuing to improve and develop. They listen to their users.

Pros

It looks nice, is well organized, simple enough with the complexity needed to wrap your head around.

Cons

It needs better reporting and time tracking (like Harvest has a widget/app to track time outside of having to log into the browser).

Monograph enables me to more easily record time and track project progress & fees. For basic functions & daily usage, it's easy to use. However, my sense is that to leverage it fully, I'd need someone to explore & work with it more on a regular basis (say, 2-4 hrs/ week, at least 3-6 months to start) to give me analytics and suggest ways to make my practice more efficient.

Pros

This is a big step up for small firms that have struggled to track project progress & fees against budgets. It's easy to use and doesn't require a big learning curve to be up and running.

Cons

I wish the software offered more ways to analyze data, including what-if scenarios, formatting and printing reports, etc.

Great overall. Some small frustrations. I like how simple it is to navigate and the basic information it reports/shows me up front each time I long on, like the circular graph.

Pros

Colorful. Carries information over from week to week. The circular graph. Can log in from anywhere.

Cons

Difficult to make changes when you add time to the wrong project phase, and/or need to change the phase, and/or when projects change (i.e. grow and become two projects, or change name, etc), without deleting and re-entering new time. When typing a description in the "add a note" cell box, the back arrow doesn't work well. It jumps out of the cell to the previous day (like in excel), where I would much prefer that it function like Word and stay in the cell.

I like how it looks but struggle to enjoy using it due to how busy the time can get visually.

Pros

I like the ability to see visuals on where the time goes, and the budget tracking graph alongside the time schedule for due dates is a real eye-opener. As a lower-level employee who needs to see how their hours impact a project, it's really great.

Cons

I hate having to add new "tabs" that use descriptors for my time. While you can write notes, and I still do, the tabs are just added in whatever order you add them in, and it becomes a cluster that is hard to visually navigate. I would want to be able to drag to organize them, or have that particular new "tab" below monday to be only below monday, just to avoid my eyes from having to search for what the proper tab is for that particular day. It makes the page way too busy.

The Monograph team is incredibly receptive to feedback and is truly interested in helping their clients succeed.

Pros

This software is fairly easy to implement and use. We appreciate that it allows us to track time for jobs. The Gantt charts are very helpful to planning our work.

Cons

The invoicing feature needs a lot of improvement. It would be nice to be able to see how much you're likely to be able to invoice each month, based on the contracts and the hours spent on each job. It would also be nice if the invoicing feature could total the amount invoiced as you create invoices. I understand that there are some updates planned soon that should address these issues, though.

We were frustrated with the lack of support we received from the Squava team. They actually told us that they had clients with much bigger firms and they'd cater their updates to them. We were small fry for them and they made that clear to us whenever we had complaints or suggestions.

I think Monograph is headed in the right direction. There are a lot of little things that need sorting out still but the team is very responsive to "wish list" items. They're well funded and so will be required by their investors to level up.

Pros

I think of Monograph as handling the ACCRUAL side of my accounting system, pushing data to Quickbooks. My bank pushes CASH accounting to Quickbooks. This makes it all pretty clean. My bookkeeper is of the opinion that it should all work quite well come tax time.

Cons

Some elements of the software do what they're supposed to do but could be more elegant. They seem to be working on tightening these things up.

Reason for choosing Monograph

They're not a dinosaur pretending to be relevant but a new group attempting to build things correctly from the start. I like that.

I am a fan so far. It is very intuitive and graphically pleasing.

Pros

Graphic Quality makes it enjoyable and it is very intuitive from day 1. You almost need no training!

Cons

I want to stop/start all projects, not just one as I change throughout the day. If I can do that online and in an app, i will be SO much better about accurate time tracking
