An overestimated application with excessive and opaque charges" **Overall:** Slow, Opaque credit consumpion, without the option to predict the final cost for a simple task, misleading compensation policy (within 24 hour of my registration and realizing the rate at which the credits were consumed, I asked to cancel my subscription and take full refund, but they refused it, because I had consumed over 300 credits... (which is rediculous, since this was exactly the sign for me that the app was useless, since it has very high consumption rate of credits. More importantly... I have to notice, that the answer of the app after consuming from my one and first task this amount of credits.. was that it could not answer... the question....) **Pros:** The potential and not the actual performance. I had read numerous good reviews for the app, which forced me to test it. My experience was dissapointing when compared with general purpose AI tools and taking into account the cost for everyday research use. **Cons:** Value for money relationship. While the tool does a great job summarizing articles quickly, I realized that genuine comprehension still requires personal reading and critical thinking. The AI writing feature, in my opinion, is not very useful. I plan to turn it off moving forward, as it tends to produce vague and meaningless text that doesn’t align with my writing goals. This might be due to limitations in handling Chinese academic writing—perhaps SciSpace performs better with English. Overall, while SciSpace is useful for initial summarization and exploration, it’s not very friendly for Chinese thesis writing. The citation formats and structure suggestions also don’t match the requirements of Chinese-language academic journals. **Pros:** SciSpace can quickly analyze academic papers and generate summaries, which is quite impressive and helpful at a glance. **Cons:** The AI writing feature feels superficial. It often generates generic content without truly understanding the user’s intention.
