I have been using it for the last 6 months and I am very happy with the quality of search and agentic performance. Pros Scispace is truly an unbelievably helpful service for academics and researchers to wade into the vast amounts of existing literature and be able to start making sense of it all. There are so many helpful features for a reasonable price. AND customer service is incredibly responsive, polite, friendly, and helpful! Cons The lack of existing tutorial to help with the abundance of features and capabilities that the platform offers. It can be overwhelming until you begin to play around with all of the things that are available to help search, organize, and utilize the literature. Bad support. In my field, microfluidics, it was totally a waste of time. The worst thing is that the AI agent can process the full PDF in your library. Pros Chatting with papers. I assume that writing and AI detection must work ok, as in all other AI tools. Cons Almost everything else. The software is still not smart enough to deal with hard science fields. The literature review keeps breaking your inclusions and exclusions for no obvious reason. The AI agent will let you into a maze to burn your credits (5500), delivering nothing. I use the first three days in my billing period on things that do not require intelligence, with outcomes that you can have better results with using ChatGPT. Their support is AI-generated and designed to get on your nerves and to drive you crazy. To be fair, it could suit research related to social sciences. Pros Time-consuming to read a pile of articles, and actually user-friendly and ease of use. the library helped me a lot to classify the articles. and the suggested articles from the SciSpace were very helpful. Cons I sometimes couldn't find something in articles with the help of SciSpace, while it was there. so it made it a bit unreliable to use it alone. With its literature review, paraphrasing, Ai detector, citation generator etc., it provides the needs of every lover of research. I personally like "chat with pdf" which makes one read articles in a fraction of time. You can also covert PDFs to videos and slides which provides useful summaries. Oh, lest I forget, with the "deep dive" of the literature review tool, you can get to the most hidden articles. Cons There are occasional system error which can appear frustrating. Huh, AI managed to lose the figures and forget to delete the unnecessary dashes when words are no longer broken at the end of the line. I reformatted myself from the original version because it was easier than correcting all their bugs. Then I tried to cancel their service, but they couldn't find my account, but they didn't forget to charge $96. I have disputed the charges. I don't want to use this scam Pros No pros. I don't see anything that their AI does better than I do it myself. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to delegate editing or searching for references to AI. Cons AI doesn't work, totally useless. They did a terrible job. They charged me $96 for a subscription, and then I tried to cancel because they did a bad job, and there is no use for them. With institutional ID, you can generate video summaries of your papers. SciSpace also has chrome extension to directly add to its browser. Its deep literature review can save a lot of your time in extraction literature for topic of your interest. You should definitely try this tool once. I am not willing to invest the money to see if the paid version is better. I would like to also note that considering I only accessed the site a few times, one of those times it did not seem to be working at all. Pros It is cool that Scispace finds trustworthy articles on a topic and summarizes them for you. I also liked the table it produced that listed the insights, conclusions, and methods used for each article. Cons SciSpace seems to be a very robust tool but the free version is much too limited for it to be applied in the educational setting. I asked it to write opposing arguments and it used up all of my AI credits for the month. By the time my credits renew I won't remember what I already explored.
