Pros Scispace is truly an unbelievably helpful service for academics and researchers to wade into the vast amounts of existing literature and be able to start making sense of it all. There are so many helpful features for a reasonable price. AND customer service is incredibly responsive, polite, friendly, and helpful! Cons The lack of existing tutorial to help with the abundance of features and capabilities that the platform offers. It can be overwhelming until you begin to play around with all of the things that are available to help search, organize, and utilize the literature. Bad support. In my field, microfluidics, it was totally a waste of time. The worst thing is that the AI agent can process the full PDF in your library. Pros Chatting with papers. I assume that writing and AI detection must work ok, as in all other AI tools. Cons Almost everything else. The software is still not smart enough to deal with hard science fields. The literature review keeps breaking your inclusions and exclusions for no obvious reason. The AI agent will let you into a maze to burn your credits (5500), delivering nothing. I use the first three days in my billing period on things that do not require intelligence, with outcomes that you can have better results with using ChatGPT. Their support is AI-generated and designed to get on your nerves and to drive you crazy. To be fair, it could suit research related to social sciences. If you are in the hard sciences or engineering, it is not ready yet. Review Source Bill B. I have been using it for the last 6 months and I am very happy with the quality of search and agentic performance. Pros Time-consuming to read a pile of articles, and actually user-friendly and ease of use. the library helped me a lot to classify the articles. and the suggested articles from the SciSpace were very helpful. Cons I sometimes couldn't find something in articles with the help of SciSpace, while it was there. so it made it a bit unreliable to use it alone. An overestimated application with excessive and opaque charges" August 13, 2025 1.0 Slow, Opaque credit consumpion, without the option to predict the final cost for a simple task, misleading compensation policy (within 24 hour of my registration and realizing the rate at which the credits were consumed, I asked to cancel my subscription and take full refund, but they refused it, because I had consumed over 300 credits... Cons Since finding gaps through this tool is not straightforward, I would love to see a Gap Finder feature to highlight unexplored areas across papers, making it even more powerful for literature reviews. This feels like it was made for psychology students BY psychology students. That's the best way I can describe it. Pros As a student new to the area of Psychology, I felt so overwhelmed by the amount of research and time I was spending trying to find relevant articles for my assignments. I was so relieved when I found SciSpace because it felt like top grades were now an actual possibility for me. I never recommend relying on generative AI services to the point where you can’t think critically for yourself. But using the support and guidance that SciSpace offers—especially as a beginner in this discipline—I can’t recommend it enough. Cons the ask questions feature for articles/ clarify questions are, at times, super vague and not very helpful. I am not willing to invest the money to see if the paid version is better. I would like to also note that considering I only accessed the site a few times, one of those times it did not seem to be working at all. Pros It is cool that Scispace finds trustworthy articles on a topic and summarizes them for you. I also liked the table it produced that listed the insights, conclusions, and methods used for each article. Cons SciSpace seems to be a very robust tool but the free version is much too limited for it to be applied in the educational setting. I asked it to write opposing arguments and it used up all of my AI credits for the month. By the time my credits renew I won't remember what I already explored.
