I do like that our staff have transparency now and that all members of leadership have access to the schedule. Pros We absolutely love the messaging options and the access from the app. Our staff have transparency to see their schedules from home and can pick up shifts easily. Sending out updates about staff meetings and events in our department has never been easier! Cons We do not like when we have to put in a new shift type that it comes across as a code VS the shift type. We feel as though there are several different views to look at to get information that we use to have all on one schedule type. We had to create teams to let our staff know where they would be working VS having the information transparent on our total schedule. Something that should be as easy as pulling up a date, putting a persons name in and the shift they are working has to be done in so many steps. Not sure how I feel about it yet Pros I like that the shifts go automatically into my phone, when connected to my iPhone calendar. It nice to be able to send messages to coworkers for trades, etc Cons I don’t like how the messages show up when you send one to someone, regarding trading shifts, or working a shift, etc… I don’t like that the shifts you’ve worked don’t stay on your Iphones calendar after you’ve worked them. I dont like how you request time off. If you don’t need to use PTO, how do you put in for the days you need off that you don’t want to use PTO for? I have had times when I have needed to log out and back in, or made multiple attempts when trying to see shift change requests for peers. Pros I have been using ShiftWizard for several years and it has been helpful with making my schedule and requesting time off. There is documentation for when I request vacation time. It allows me to see the people I will be working with how many nurses are scheduled that day. It was not difficult to learn how to use the system. From a former manager perspective, it is easy to customize, locate and change shifts, view reports and send urgent messages. The Shift Swap feature is hugely popular with staff as well. We could utilize it better Pros I did like how inputting hours was pretty easy. And waiting for approval from that is importance. Able to see the schedule and who is on it on what day is what I liked. I did like the IT responsiveness and remained very accommodating and polite Cons I don’t like how the login works some of the time as the single sign on. I don’t like how the change password thing is aesthetic and doesn’t actually work. There isn’t even an admin phone number and has to ask supervisor for it. The requirement has me come into the work unit off hours during patient cases to fix it with IT. I know some depts do not use it to it's full potential due to the rocky start of implementation. When I have an issue the customer help is excellent and gets to the bottom of it quickly. Pros ShiftWizard was designed by nurses which is why it is fantastic to use for Hospital/clinic use! The mobile app is fantastic, contacting employees with open shifts etc and communication is on point! Cons During Set up some departments had difficulty with setting up their staff template and it would have helped if ShiftWizard would have helped more with that so the frustration would be less and they would use it to full potential. The pieces I enjoy most are: Updating schedules with icons allows an automatic update to kronos for example, vacation day approvals, sick time, and jury duty etc. Staff can visualize their schedules at home using the SW app. Cons I wish we could input a person into shiftwizard before their first hire date so we can put their schedule in computer.
