When implementing, we told them our needs and they delivered. We have target groups so we can quickly communicate with our team(s) for important messages/updates. I can log in from my phone and quickly send something out! Cons Nothing! We probably don't use many of the features, but maybe down the road, we will explore more! Just get 3 green lights and hit send (title the alert, create the message, add the recipients). RAVE takes care of the rest. Alerts go out quickly with over 98% of my recipients notified within the first 5 minutes of sending. Cons Interaction with some follow-up features can be a bit clunky as there is a lot of data to digest, but not a lot of easy 'dashboards' to view the stats. Switching to Rave was a smooth process and have had no complaints since. We use this regularly for internal messaging as well as for emergency notifications. Cons The ability to do voice calls is an extra option, whereas the vendor we had before allowed voice calls. Since we're relatively new to the product (6 months), the only real benefit thus far is a budget savings with more alerting options from our previous vendor. Pros We have been very pleased with the ease of use, maintenance of the data, and the ability to provide unique content depending on which channel is used for an alert. Cons I would like to be able to set a confirmation of alert for the end-user that would STOP the alert for them once they received and confirmed the message on one platform. I realize that Rave sends to ALL platforms at once (which I like) and that prevents the ability to stop a cascade of subsequent alerts on other channels, but it can be overwhelming when an end-user receives multiple signals at once and it's only one alert. Pros We are a small college campus with a smaller enrollment. The sofware is pretty easy to use and deployment of alerts is pretty simple for the administrators using it. Cons templates and alerts sent by text and email can be a bit confusing to set up at times. We don't use it regularly so that is part of the issue. We send a file to add email notifications for all students. We add office phone and email for employees. Students and employees are encouraged to add their cell phone number for alerts. People are able to add additional phone numbers for parents and/or other family members for alerts. Parents of students living away from home seem to like this initially. Cons As an administrator, I sometimes have to read/respond to text from people who reply to RAVE alerts. We have a separate location that we had to incorporate alerts for. Reason for choosing Rave Alert I wasn't involved. The SMS Opt-in features are great for our families and guests as well. Cons I wish that replying "Stop" did not block notifications for all lists. I don't think this is a feature of Rave, but we have had some students miss emergency notifications because they replied "stop" to a non-emergency alert. We've had very little issue with the system. Pros Integration was easy to set up. We did a quick implementation of the system and it was very easy. Our Police department who manages the system report that the system is very easy to use Cons Since I don't administer the system, this is hard for me to answer. I've not heard of any issues. Cons Not able to see information for people who are new or just signed up for first time, unless their information was ported over. Cannot help people adjust or select options because of this. Quality and Safety Manager Transportation/Trucking/Railroad Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "System is not as convenient as desired" November 24, 2021 4.0 I came into a company that has paid for the system since 2019, and because of the resources required to setup and manage Rave, it had never been setup/implemented as a full-functioning emergency alert system for the entire company. I can understand why. I learned the system only to have it changed a month later (our account had not yet received the 2020 update.) I finished training senior management on using the system after this update, only to have the system updated with changes again, and we've been made aware that this will be updated AGAIN in early 2022 because of the FCC requirements for non-emergency notifications. This isn't how we want a system to work that we intended on buying, implementing, and only ever having to add and remove employees to it. Pros The system has the capabilities desired for emergency and general notifications, which we use it for. Cons The convenience of maintaining the system is not there. Aside from adding and removing people, it can be time consuming to manage. It appears that with the FCC requirements for non-emergency notifications this is only going to get worse.
