June 1, 2026 5.0 I joined a new company, and bookings were all over the place. Some were managed in a reservation system and some on an Excel sheet. It was taking hours to ensure we had the day planned, not the week, the day. After 2 weeks, I knew something had to change. I have never done a migration like this before, and it was quite daunting. I had used Bokun previously, but never managed a migration. I took the plunge headfirst. Viator connected instantly and synced all bookings, but then... what about the rest: Airbnb, GYG, Website bookings? After a slight panic, I decided to contact Bokun support by chat. This was the shocking part... I connected directly to a human, and before I could even finish typing my question, " \[sensitive content hidden\]" (Bokun customer support) mentioned, "I see you are a new user, would you like me to give you a call and assist with the migration?" The relief of knowing that someone was there to genuinely help was amazing. I was expecting a bot, or for someone to send me a 300-page guideline book, but no, they called me instantly, and the rest is history. Migrated over 1000 clients across 4 channels, and it was seamless. \[sensitive content hidden\] was spectacular and determined to get things done asap. He just understood the urgency of doing this. We have saved hours in operational headaches, double-checking classes, and stress. Pros The support from the customer service team. Simplicity in the calendar visibility. Opening and closing classes have never been easier, and the operational reporting is fantastic. We use it daily to make decisions. Cons Every OTA has a different format and different data that you can download regarding your bookings. It would have been great for me as a client to download the booking details from each OTA and send them to Bokun to format as they needed. Everything broke all the time, you lost money, and then they would blame you. They made every small thing that should be easy difficult for no reason and randomly locked you out of your account for no reason. We lost so much time, money, and effort that it ended up being better to literally build our own reservation system. Pros nothing - There's one good guy named \[sensitive content hidden\], who's literally, in his own words, the only support rep in the entire US. Everybody else is overseas, and everything about this company, Xperience Software, is horrible. Cons Everything is terrible. Cost is way too high. They're actually stealing data. Integrations break all the time. Bookings have dropped since we started using them because Viator is stealing the data, which is their parent company, so they can get people booked there and then hit you with fees. Overall, awful company, awful experience, awful team. Old school legacy software. Pros Value for money and great help from the Bokun team with website editing and design. No bugs or issues so far Cons Agents on chat do not seem to be as experienced as those you speak to on the phone. Also I find that the guys have more detailed knowledge about how Bokun works. I still have my workarounds for group tours that support helps me to achieve what I want. I most certainly would be making as much, in such an organised and professional way without Bokun. It gives a one man show like myself ability to compete in the big leagues. I can’t wait to see what Bokun will offer in the AI age. Pros The customer support. Being a developer I try to push all software’s to their limit. Even use them in cases their original developers never knew possible. I am only enabled this by the incredible support that helps a not average user achieve what most wouldn’t even know is possible. This can only be achieved by exceptional support teams. Cons The only things mg I have wanted and kissed in Bokun for years is it’s not focused on group bookings. So simple for them to do. This is part of what I come up with my own workaround. Cons As a new supplier, gaining visibility can be challenging. We experienced many proposal rejections before receiving a few acceptances, and after three months we have not yet received any customer inquiries or bookings. Pros I don’t have a good experience with Bokun. Cons I used Bokun to manage my bookings, but I encountered serious issues, especially with OTA platform synchronization. The biggest problem was with Viator – time slots appeared as unavailable when they were actually free, leading to lost potential bookings. I spent an entire month trying to resolve these issues, but the problems persisted. When I contacted customer support, I faced an extremely slow and ineffective team. Responses took a long time, and the solutions provided were generic and unhelpful. For software that charges a monthly fee, I expected much better service and a more reliable system.
