Identity Manager

## What is Identity Manager?

One Identity provides advanced identity solutions to address the rapid growth of human and machine identities, AI adoption, cloud migration, and remote work. By unifying Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), Access Management (AM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Active Directory Management (AD Mgmt), it tackles identity sprawl and siloed systems that create gaps and risks. With 360-degree visibility and identity correlation, One Identity ensures thorough verification before granting access to critical assets, accelerating permission changes to support an adaptive Zero Trust strategy. Enhanced by workflow orchestration, analytics, and robust connectors, the platform delivers efficiency and flexibility across on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments, offering a complete solution for modern identity security.

Overall, my experience with Identity Manager has been positive. It helped streamline user access management, reduced manual effort through automation, and improved efficiency across onboarding and offboarding processes. Once implemented, it proved to be a reliable solution for managing identities and access controls.

Pros

What I liked most about Identity Manager is its ability to automate user provisioning and access management efficiently. It helped reduce manual effort, improved security, and made onboarding and offboarding processes much smoother. The interface is straightforward, and the overall user management process is well organized.

Cons

The main drawback was that some configurations and workflows required a learning curve initially. While the platform is powerful, certain administrative tasks could be more intuitive.

I have been implementing One Identity Manager solution for customers ranging from Govt, Energy to financials services sector from more than three years now. The initial deployment of the solution and basic level configuration required to make the system running are fairly easy as compared with other solutions which makes the success rate of One Identity Manager implementation projects better. The solution have OOTB connectors for all the famous target application that are present more or less in every company

Pros

\- Very easy to set up as compared to other Identity Management Solutions - Wide list of out-of-the-box connectors - Supports integration with cloud based applications easily - Most of the configurations can be done without coding knowledge

Cons

\- One Identity web portal has some customization limits - Product documentation is good but can be enhanced further - Right now Linux deployment without containers is not supported

Reasons for choosing Identity Manager

\- Easier to deploy than other solutions - Licensing cost is affordable for most of the customers

I us it every 60 days or so. It's easier than using the Cntl-Alt-Del Screen, for me, at least, as I don't have to log out and lose time.

Pros

It really is as simple as it looks and sounds. Enter your name, identify yourself, and quickly, securely, and easily change your Password(s) and security questions, as needed or required by IT.

Cons

Truthfully? The main thing I hate about using it is having to - but security is paramount in this day and age
