Pros: At first you feel like you're missing a few things when you transition from PowerPoint to Slides, but just keep working with it. Slides is an incredible, cloud-based platform for creating great slide decks.

- It's collaborative - you can work with peers in real-time

- It's user-friendly - once you spend a little time on the site, you just get it. It makes sense and is of course standard with other G Suite platforms.

- Variety - you're able to just offer variety in your presentations that other platforms can't match. It's easy to integrate videos from YouTube, images from Google, graphs, etc. Simple steps and there's no major hoops to jump though.

- It's quick to build a slideshow

- Reliable - I've never had one not save or lost a slideshow! They're always being saved in the cloud!

- Easy to share with others

Cons: I have no real complaints! It takes some getting used to if you transitioning from PowerPoint, but it's really a great platform!

Overall: I use this daily with teachers and students. I love it! It's a necessary tool for 21st-century classroom.

Pros: It's free for educational institutions; and each user gets 1TB of storage in Drive.

The ability for students to collaborate on projects is amazing with this product. Group presentations are much easier than with PowerPoint, as students can work on the project from wherever they are, and can even all be working at the same time on the same presentation without worry about being locked out because someone else is editing. I also love that students can download their presentations as PowerPoint in order to submit them in Blackboard.

Cons: It is not as robust as PowerPoint, which is fine for most students. However, students in BCIS classes still must purchase the Microsoft Office suite in order to perform the required functions. This can get expensive. I do understand, however, that the same robustness should not be expected of a free software program.

Pros: Google slide let me create and edit my presentations from anywhere ,and with any smart device which let me access the internet.I also think Google slide has got similarities with Microsoft Powerpoint and this was beneficial to me when I made a switch from Powerpoint to Google slides years ago.

Using Google slides to create presentations ,I am left unworried about the possibility of my presentation size getting too bulky and potentially crashing ; at least this has never happened to me using Google slides.

Lastly and very importantly too, Google slide autosaves my presentations to the cloud, keeping me in save hands if I ever forget to save my presentations.

Cons: While the Google slide interface is quite similar to that of Microsoft Powerpoint ,it is however not as intuitive or as user friendly and I will think a new user to presentations will have a faster learning curve with Powerpoint than with Google slides.

Overall: Google Slides makes the process of sharing presentations with my colleagues before meetings a breeze. Not minding what presentation tool some of my colleagues use, they still get to open my presentations on whatever presentation tool they use personally.

Pros: Google Slides is free and makes it easy to create and access presentations from all of my devices. It also supports collaboration, which makes it easy for multiple people at a workplace or workgroup to work together on presentations ; resulting in presentations being done faster, and with better quality too.Since multiple people working together will likely arrive at a better quality, than a singular individual working on presentations all by themselves.

Cons: Google Slides is free to use and therefore I probably do not anticipate to get the same quality I will get from paid alternatives.More importantly too,I do very basic presentations and Google slides covers that need very well.

Overall: Google slides enable me create presentations at a moments notice.Because it is browser based,I am always able to access past presentations or create new ones ,provided I have got a mobile smart device ,tablet,pc or MacBook within reach. Also ,it has saved me money in terms of monthly subscriptions I use to pay on my Microsoft office ,which I stopped paying since 2014 when I began using Google apps.

Pros: Affordable: Slides, being part of the Google Docs office suite, is completely free to use and thus one does not have to pay any license fee to acquire it as is the case with Microsoft's PowerPoint.

Accessibility: The two things that you'll need to run Slides are a Google account and an active internet connection. It doesn't require any installation on your system as it is cloud-based.

Collaboration: It gives you the ability to easily collaborate with your coworkers and peers with each adding their own expertise in order to achieve the best possible result.

Cons: Lack of Template Diversity: Slides does come with a gallery of templates but it certainly doesn't match up to the thousands of custom made templates and graphic elements offered by PowerPoint.

Basic Animations: You can use Slides for creating presentations with basic animations and transition effects whereas it's rival, PowerPoint offers much advanced features and powerful effects (3D, reflections, etc.) which are available in the desktop-based version.

Overall: It helps to make presentations that require teamwork as it is easily accessible across devices with an active connection thus allowing everyone to share their ideas. You get live updates for the changes made to any file and the fact that it's free makes it a great presentation tool to have.

Pros: Slides is subscription free and this was the primary reason,I moved from Powerpoint to Slides. It is Cloud based, allowing me to create and access my slide presentations from everywhere. Also worth noting is how user friendly it is,therefore I had a fast learning curve when I migrated from Powerpoint.

Lastly and very importantly,I like the level of file security I get with Google slides ,in that all of my presentations are saved in the cloud(DRIVE) in real time, and this makes it impossible for me to loose my presentations due to a power -cut ,or even if my PC breaks down suddenly.

Cons: Considering this is subscription free,I do not deem it proper to begin to compare with Powerpoint ,Prezi or any of the other paid presentation tools I have used.

Overall: Google slides is my go-to program anytime I need to create a presentation, either for personal or business use.More importantly too,it has saved me monthly subscription fees for the last three year.

Pros: Google Slide is intuitive and comes with a friendly user interface. I am provided with customization options, albeit limited. It is easy to share my presentations with colleagues working with me on the same project and also I have had very little issues accessing Powerpoint created presentations on my Google Slides.

Cons: Google slides keep me stuck with a similar theme and background for all my presentations. While uniformity is a good thing, Google slides I think takes it too far.

Overall: I use Google Slides to put project ideas and metrics into presentations which I share with my colleagues at team meetings. Google Slides enable me complete these presentations quickly,as I simply collaborate with my other team members in real time : doesn't matter even if I am not physically within the office.

Google slides integration with other Google apps. only makes it easier to save and create my presentations ,import files into my presentations and share my presentations with no hassle.

Pros: As with all Google apps, what I like best is how multiple people on my team can be working with and editing at the same time. However, more recently I am so impressed with the offline capability of Google Slides and the ability to edit even when I do not have internet access. It has many (not all) of the features and functionality of the slide program I have used in the past, but with more modern templates and features that you'd expect from google software.

Cons: When making slides to share with co-workers and colleagues, Google Slides is all I need. However, if I needed to create a more advanced and impressive presentation, I'd work in PowerPoint because it does have more features and better templates.

Overall: It's easy to get started if you have a google account, and completely free, so there's nothing to lose.

Pros: Primarily,I like Google slides because it is cloud based, thereby making it accessible across all smart devices ; be it smartphones or laptops. The ability to collaborate is a nice feature to have on a presentation program and also of great importance is the fact that Google slides is free to use.

Cons: On every occasion when I have opened a Powerpoint presentation on Google slides, I have lost the formatting of such documents and always have to re-modify the document on Google slides.

Overall: Google slides let me collaborate with my colleagues on team presentations. Collaboration via Google slides has improved how fast we are able to create and edit team presentations ,while also improving the quality of presentations we create ,since multiple heads working together are obviously better than one.

Pros: The G Suite and Google Drive have been part of our team-trusted software and with these is a presentation-creating software that provides sharing features which are very helpful. Google Slides can be edited and discussed in real-time between my colleagues and me which is a great way to brainstorm. We can share it using Google Drive which can be accessed by having a Gmail account, and everyone has Gmail accounts. It is highly accessible and easy to use.

Cons: There are many template designs to choose from but after a while, it seems repetitive. Since using templates is a faster way of creating slides, it might be a little helpful for additional template designs.

Overall: Pros greatly outweigh the cons.

Pros: Google Slides is free to sign up for and free to use no matter one. It's very easy to collaborate and share your presentation with others such as fellow coworkers.

It also works seamlessly on my browser, and especially for Chrome, it never lags or slows down for me.

There's also a number of options available for themes, transitions and more

Cons: I don't think the selection of options, though there's a variety, is as extensive as other slide making programs out there. Also, internet connection issues can pop up while editing, yet it's rare. But it can cause times where your edits do not save, which is frustrating.

Pros: Google Slides is here to replace Microsoft's PowerPoint, and it is here to stay.

With such a full range of feature, there's no need to look elsewhere for your presentation needs.

Lots of themes available, unlimited customization, and easiness of use. The user interface is simple yet effective, and the learning curve is gentle. If you need presentation slides prepared for work, school, or university, please look no further and try it out for yourself.

Cons: Slides gets laggy sometimes when I reach a high number of slides (30+) if it's picture heavy. I'd love if Google engineers could take a look at it.

Pros: Google Slides makes it easy for me to create and share presentations. It also keeps present and past presentations secured since it backs up all of my presentations to DRIVE in real time,as I create them.

Its web based feature allows for easy access from any device of choice.

Pros: Having the option of collaborating with others live on presentations is by far the best feature. Managing who changed what when makes the process of working on a presentation easy. Furthermore, it has become easy to share materials blazingly fast and have all of your source material present in the same Google drive folder. Managing permissions unlocks the ability for Slides to function as a central part of a presentation that includes marketing materials, research and other documents, all in one convenient place.

There are more than enough features for customization to allow for a striking presentation with clean, simple functionality.

Cons: The only thing is that some templates can feel a little generic and branded closely to Google. While not a major issue, sometimes importing custom templates is harder than when doing the same with powerpoint.

Pros: Another Google product I use on a weekly basis.

Slides lets you create very professional looking slide show presentations and customize them in many different ways. It's got all the features that I look for when creating presentations, from image adding and editing, to styling and backgrounds.

It is free to use and allows multiple users to work on the same project at the same time.

Cons: I personally haven't encountered any negatives with Google Slides yet. Been using it for years and it works great.

Cons: It is so easy to use that some might feel it lacks options.

Overall: My experience with Google Slides is entirely positive. It really changed the way we collaborate.

Pros: Google slides are great for presentations. You can format the slide to whatever design/color you would like and font size/type. You can easily add many slides and it's easy to learn.

Cons: The only cons are sometimes it is a little confusing at first how to adjust pictures in Google Slides, also there are some features more difficult to access.

Pros: I like that this software is cloud based. I don't have to worry about saving it to a flash drive before giving a presentation. All you have to do is have your Google login and you are ready to pull up your presentations from any tablet or computer.

I also like the sharing features. It is great when putting together a group presentation for school or work.

Cons: There are not a ton of templates to choose from. The ones provided are a great start, but it would be nice to have more options.

Pros: Easy to use on tablet or desktop. Phones can be a little tricky, but it will still work just fine.

Easy to share presentations with anyone, anywhere.

Even without a G Suite subscription, it's FREE!

Cons: It lacks a few of the extra features you get with Microsoft PowerPoint or OpenOffice, but for the most part, it covers everything you might need.

Overall: We use Google Slides to generate presentations that are displayed on a large changing LED sign. We share the presentations, so that different department staff can edit and broadcast updated information as needed. Not having to send all the info to one person who is in charge of nothing but signage updates is a huge help.

Cons: There are limited templates in comparison to Powerpoint or other, more premium softwares on the market. It does the job for basic needs, but not to the extent as other products.

Pros: The best feature is Q&A feature. Audience could send questions to the presenter on a link generated for presentation. The link is displayed on the top of all slides. So, the presenter could read through them and reply them on that chat. Or can publicly read out those questions. It is really helpful when carrying out presentation in public to large audiences. It also makes our presentation more interactive.

It has really cool Pointer for the presentation. IT can be used by the presenter.

Since its cloud based we could easily access it anywhere at any time on all our devices. It also enables a team to collaboratively work upon a presentation.

Cons: It has very limited transitions, animations and appearance features. We could only create simple, formal presentations on it. If we want to make some catchy presentations with 3D effects, etc then its not possible with Google Slides.

Pros: It's similar to PPT but is cloud based which helps with not having tons of memory saved on my laptop. I can also pull it from any computer I'm working on and pick up where I left off. It also offers tons of preset slide options.

Cons: You need internet connection to access it but think it's a great tool

Overall: You can access from any device but really create the slides on my laptop and computer

Pros: Many of my presentations have a lot of different stakeholders that want to make edits and see daily updates. Using google slides helps me keep everything in one place (no need for download after download with different version names). I can just share the link and everyone has access. It's great!

Cons: It doesn't have as many templates and tools as powerpoint. Powerpoint is definietly more robust.

Pros: The collaboration aspect of Google Slides is the best thing about the software. You can easily share a presentation with your coworkers and get everything put together and organized even if you're half a world away, it's pretty impressive.

Cons: There aren't as many features as you would find on a normal presentation software, but overall it's not bad for being free.

Overall: Collaborating on presentations. It's so much easier to have people work on their slides at the same time for a presentation rather than trying to collect them from everyone.

Pros: Slides takes advantage of the Google design ecosystem to deliver a seamless Google experience and make presentations a smoother experience than working with the traditional, but more convoluted, Powerpoint. Google has opened up the add-ons feature to make some very helpful third party tools available to integrate with your slides.

Cons: Not as full-featured as Powerpoint, and not as much control. As such, it's a bit of a "lite" version. Can't speak to a comparison with Keynote.

Overall: Enjoying the connectedness to add-ons, and the simplicity of the interface and the experience of putting a presentation together.
