### "Easy to use with a ton of features"

January 2, 2023

5.0

Collaborative editing for fast and easy reviewing of new styles and design choices.

Pros

It's easy and straightforward to use. The fact that it allows for online collaborative editing, is a huge advantage.

Cons

Offline editing is a bit harder as we would rely on e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint. These two software solutions don't always go hand in hand. It's simply way easier to edit the Google Slide online instead.

We are able to have multiple instructors collaborate in real time for a single presentation. The templates and ease of use make the presentation always appear clean cut and professional. Love this product!

Pros

Google slides is so easy to edit and share with others. It has made teaching classes with multiple presenters so doable!

### "Best Slides Option for Team Collaboration and Beyond"

September 8, 2022

5.0

Pros

Ease of use, team collaboration, and presentation capabilities are what I enjoy most about Google Slides. It's a seamless product that integrates well whether you're working off of a powerpoint template or a new Google Slides template. Exports without issue and easy to edit, upload images and animation into.

Cons

Editing in offline mode can conflict with changes other team members are making, for this we always assign slide ownership so wires don't get crossed!

### "google slides "

August 5, 2019

5.0

Pros

\- great to use when you are working on a team project. I can do one part of the project while another co worker can do the other part. We can work on the powerpoint at the same time, so it is very convenient for group projects. - it corrects my spelling well and it can correct for some terms and strange names that regular spell check powerpoint won't pick up. - i really enjoy using the tables and graphs features of the google powerpoint. it makes beautiful graphs. I can make circle, line, or bar graphs. really the options are endless. There are several table options that are great for organizing information. - I like that I can chat with my co workers while I edit when I use the chat feature. This can help clarify information without cluttering the document with comments, which can slow down the program. -I like that I can access the document from any computer just by having my google log in. this is very convenient so If I forget my laptop or don't have a desktop, I can still get my work done on a public or friend's computer.

Cons

\- It can be hard to use the toolbar. Everything it on the top and you have to use the drop down menu for getting information. I wish it was more like the traditional powerpoint where there were toolbox menu with shortcuts. -sometimes when too many people are working on the document at the same time the site will temporarily crash. It usually still saves my edits but sometimes it doesn't. It is not normally an issue, but I try to make sure only 1-3 people are using the document at the same time. It usually is only an issue if people are editing. When others are viewing the document it is not normally an issue. - I am not a big fan of the editing process. You can track your edits but sometimes if you have a lot of edits, the program slows down considerably. -You need internet to use the document. sometimes this can be difficult if I am in a place that does not have free wifi (car or plane). -

### "The Joy of Google Slides"

February 6, 2024

5.0

Overall very pleased with drive, we use it multiple times a year and I myself am pleased with it, I would recommend it to others.

Pros

I like how modular slides is. its easy to drag and drop. our business relies almost entirely on Google Drive so to have a slides program so easily integrated with our drive works well. As with all things Drive, sharing is easy and effortless, which we used A LOT.

Cons

There could be more options when it comes to transitions. Also formatting multiple text areas could be a little more streamline. Mind you I'm no expert at it (yet) but I don't find it particularly intuitive. Also some sort of snap to grid function to allow multiple text areas to line up nicely would be helpful.

### "It's good, but I do prefer Powerpoint"

June 11, 2022

4.0

We do a weekly company-wide presentation which I regularly contribute my own slides too. Additionally, I use it for team presentations, and also as a mechanism to collate my own thoughts and research on work projects into something more stream-lined.

Pros

As with all of Google's software, it's so easy to use Google Slides across teams, across countries and across companies. We can work independently on the slides we will present, and then someone else can go in and tidy the whole thing up. It saves so much time compared to Powerpoint, which is great. It's also easy to duplicate and copy slides, including from other presentations, which is super helpful. I also like how easy it is to add comments and to tag people. We integrate it very nicely into Slack, making the process of making presentations hugely stream-lined and efficient. I also like that the red lines appear to show you when you have lined up a picture or text box correctly with the rest of the slide.

Cons

I find it really difficult to create the style of slide that I want - I feel that Powerpoint has a broader selection of templates and it is easier to design a slick and stylish slide through Powerpoint. I often revert to copying templates made by colleagues, and I honestly cannot work out how they made them, despite being proficient in Powerpoint. There's not great support online with this in my opinion. Also, I find it frustrating that my formatting jumps around so much when I change the template. Finally, it's annoying that the layout doesn't appear the same when I run a presentation as when I look at the slide while editing it.

### "Best option for virtual classes"

April 27, 2022

5.0

Pros

What I like the most about Google Slides is that it can be accessed from any computer and it does not require any program to be installed to open it. In a class setting, Google Slides can be used within Google Classroom allowing teachers to project the content of their class in a clear way and also allows students to answer questions within the Slides in a fun format.

Cons

I love Google Slides and I use it daily with my students. Google Slides allows me to create interactive content in which I can type, drag and match information while explaining a lesson. However, when I project my slides in class I lose access to the functionality of dragging, matching and writing because it becomes a presentation. I work around it by not presenting the Slides as a slideshow. -As an educator sometimes I need to change the size of an individual slide in the page setup to present a larger text. Google Slides does not allow that since any changes made in one slide will be reflected in all the other slides. It would be beneficial to have that option.

### "best FREE SaaS based presentation software"

October 15, 2019

4.0

Took a bit of time to get used to it, but haven't looked back ever since.

Pros

Being able to create/view/edit presentations in the browser is extremely convenient. While Microsoft has adapted and now offers Office 365, the speed of google slides is unparalleled. Previously I used SlideRocket and Google Slides takes it to a whole new level. It does take some time to get used to it versus PowerPoint, but once you acclimate, Slides will be your preferred choice. It offers 80% of the features of enterprise presentation software and you can even use it offline if you choose.

Cons

Needs to be better at importing and exporting other slide formats. GSlides also uses unique fonts that aren't always present by default on MacOS and other operating systems. This results in the presentation defaulting to another font that is almost always a formatting mess. Lastly it would be nice to get more base templates by default.

### "Weirdly enough, Google Slides is better than Google Docs"

June 28, 2020

3.0

Good enough to replace PowerPoint for almost any slide show we do, with the exception that to this day, working on PowerPoint native is faster when just mocking something up.

Pros

Cloud based is of course helpful, and the feature set is roughly comparable to Microsoft PowerPoint and in some ways better executed -- the auto-snaps of alignment being an example, along with consistency across browsers.

Cons

\* The inability to copy material between browsers \* The inability to choose a color in an image as the transparent color \* The inability to set image compression level or resolution in the app \* add pexels & unsplash integrations \* better multi-select object capabilities \* better master template support

### "Complete slide software with excellent realtime collaboration and cross-platform support"

March 21, 2019

5.0

Pros

Google Slides is a full-featured presentation software, with all tools required to create slides. It's easy and intuitive to get started, with adequate default slide layouts. In my experience, the learning curve is smooth, especially coming from other standard presentation software. Default formatting options (fonts, colors and presentation templates) make for pretty slides with little efforts. Performance is good even for large slide sets including many images. It's also very stable. Exporting slides to PDF works very well, which means that there's easy access to the presentation in case of a network issue.

Cons

Compared to a native application such as Keynote (on macOS), the interface feels less intuitive. For example, drag & drop support to add content is slightly more limited. The number of transition and animation choices is also restricted. It's still not possible to create mathematical equations or symbol, so that an external tool must be used. Videos inserted in the slides will play through a web-player similar to YouTube's player, which is more obtrusive than an inline player. The number of fonts available is limited to the ones provided by Google, which may be an issue if using a specific font, e.g. for a company's corporate identity. As for all Google products, the fact that the document will be stored on Google's servers may be an issue if it contains sensitive / private company information.

### "Collaboration Lifesaver – with is Limits"

May 10, 2019

4.0

Honestly, Google Slides wouldn't be my first choice when choosing a presentation software, but I would never have gotten through my recent collaborative project without. It is key for working in large groups virtually. I really appreciate Google having different technologies

Pros

I couldn't imagine doing my last group project without Google Slides. I had to work on something with people at five other companies, all using different systems and emails. Google is only common denominator we had, and Google Slides was perfect for us. Not only could we work in the deck at the same time and divide out the work so it was easy to collaborate, we also could add comments and have real-time conversations on certain parts of the deck. I was also pleasantly surprised at how many features Google Slides had to create a decent-looking deck. It was a good foundation and a really good tool for getting presentations together in a tech-friendly way... which is a refreshing feeling with collaborative projects!

Cons

I will admit, after we collaborated and got the meat and bones of our presentation, we downloaded it off Google Slides and moved it into PowerPoint or Keynote. While it's a great tool for getting together the information you need and organizing it together, it's not super feasible (in my opinion) for creating high-impact, professional and nimble decks. It's hard to make custom designs work unless you're a Slides expert. And while it's mostly seamless between PowerPoint-Slides, it's a little different in some features.

### "Google Slides is good when making slides cooperatively with our colleagues"

April 8, 2020

3.0

I only had to use Google Slides (Slides) when I had group project. Otherwise, I actually prefer Microsoft PowerPoint, or Prezi. I actually had so much experience, and fun, working with PPT and Prezi, and they are exceptional in helping me express my ideas in the most accurate way. Sometimes Slides is too simple that I can't use some features to express what I want. For example, the animation features is so limited that I can't make certain effects (fly out, fly in) on my phrases. In short, every feature that Slides has, PPT also has it, and more. The only feature that PPT doesn't have is the sharing and collaboration feature.

Pros

As per title, this site is super convenient when you make group project, that requires the cooperation and team work, where each person has chance to contribute, make changes to the overall project, and the changes will reflect immediately. I like the simple interface and friendly user interface. Especially for people didn't have any prior experience in making good slides before. It's also easy to share to other viewer, and easy to project on the screen. In short, to a beginner, this is an ideal software to use for the presentation.

Cons

The features are so much less compared to Microsoft powerpoint. The animation and effects features is way too simple. Sometimes, if you want to make your slides fancier by adding effects, it's just a pain in the butt and ends up consuming your time more than you could imagine. When you download the slides on your computer, the format could get messed up sometimes. For example, the bullet points will change their shapes, or bullet points will show up when it's not supposed to be. The font could also be changed, and PPT will warn you this. And if you're unlucky, it will mess up your whole entire slides and make it become hideous. It's especially a challenge when creating the objects or drawing shapes on here. This also applies to other products powered by Google.

### "Google Slides... It Can Do THAT?!?"

February 6, 2020

5.0

I use Google Slides many times throughout the day and find it a comfortable, affordable alternative to PPT and other similar products.

Pros

Google Slides, at its core, is a presentation software that is part of the Google Suite of Apps. It is comparable in many features and functions to Microsoft PowerPoint. What I love about Google Slides, though, is that it can be used for much more than making, yet another, slide presentation. In my classes (K-6), we learn how Google Slides is great for many non-slide presentation work, including stop motion animation, flyers (from 1-page up to door-sized posters), flash cards, drawing (in many ways able to replace Google Drawings), e-storytelling, and much more.

Cons

In comparison to MS PPT, I would like to see more graphic editing capabilities. In PPT, for example, you can remove the background from a photo... not yet doable within Google Slides.

Google slides, overall, is an excellent tool for distance and digital learning. It is the best of both worlds. I am also able to share our information easily with my students. Google slides, overall, is an excellent tool for distance and digital learning. When using the classroom setting students are able to collaborate in real time next to each other in at home tunes are able to collaborate in real time we’re not next to each other. It is the best of both worlds. I am also able to share out information easily with my students.

Pros

Google Slides for educating students allows me to display information in a sequential matter. This helps students stay focused and organized. I can create custom lessons in slides for their distance learning success. Students can also create projects in slides and practice numerous skills needed as 9-10 year olds.

### "Always works"

April 26, 2022

Google Slides are really easy to use. The fact that it is a cloud-based service by default, makes all the difference. Instead of sending files or worry about the sharing settings, my presentation is just a link - that works.

Pros

It is an online service, so I need not worry about saving files to the cloud or whether presentations are synced and updated. Besides, slides are easy to set up. It is also effortless to add interactivity with additional tools: Slido is my favourite tool for polls and quizzes.

Cons

I can't think of something that bothers me. Perhaps embedding Youtube should offer some more design options (I would lose the Youtube design and try to incorporate it even better into the slides).

### "Ability to open, view, and edit slides anywhere!"

September 2, 2019

5.0

There is really nothing not to love about this, from the ease of sharing and collaborating in real time on projects to being able to see edits that people have made and to be able to access/present slides without ever having to install powerpoint. This really has been an excellent application both in the sense of convenience as well as value, since you can literally send the edit link to any user and they can open google slides from their browser.

Pros

Being able to access slideshow presentations on-the-go is a must! In addition to being able to collaborate on group slides using the google integration, it also offers the ability to track changes people have made for easy version control, as well as being able to chat to collaborate on projects in real time from wherever. It doesn't require microsoft office to be installed, and you can create/edit slideshows from anywhere, even your mobile device. It even allows you to play your slideshow directly from the Google Slides interface, meaning that if you are on a device for which powerpoint is not installed, this is a real lifesaver. The UI is very intuitive, and this being a google product, the tutorials and walkthroughs, as well as the community for help, is superb.

Cons

The only downside that I found on this is that for slides that are very graphics heavy, Google slides becomes really slow to use. The animations menu is also rather clunky and doesn't offer as many options as regular powerpoint, but overall this is an amazing product to have on every device!

### "Slides tool for the ages"

September 5, 2019

4.0

Google Slides is easy. Since a big part of my job revolves around presenting people information - i need a swift swiss army knife of a tool and that's what i'm getting with Slides. It is a go-to instrument for all sorts of slide-based presentations. I'm using it for onboarding stuff, market studies, technology overviews, sales pitches and human resources surveys. In each case, i can easily figure out the best format to represent information in an accessible and engaging manner.

Pros

Google Slides is easy to handle and it works well for collaborative projects. You can fine tune each element the way you see fitting. Every feature is clearly at arms length and you never feel lost about how to do this or that kind of thing.

Cons

While Google Slides is clearly molded after Microsoft PowerPoint, their compatability leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes you transfer the file and it gets all screwed up.

### "Easy to create, easy to share"

December 5, 2020

5.0

My agency moved from Apple Keynote to Google Slides for compatibility reasons: with Slides it's much more easy to share presentations with clients (and some of our clients also use Slides, so we can collaborate on shared documents). Having graphic designers in the agency helps a lot in getting nice looking presentations (when I do it all on my own the graphical result is usually much worse than what I could get on Keynote). We often present our slides in virtual meetings (using Google Hangout, but also Microsoft Teams) and they always show well. So in the hand the app is usable and complete.

Pros

It's on cloud and it's Google: this means robustness and shareability, with lots of features inherited by Google cloud products (including that you can just access it as long as you have a Google account, free of charge!). It has a lot of features and can perfectly integrate with graphics, rich media and tables and charts (using Google Sheets as the basis for data to display into a chart: a new sheet is automatically created when you create a chart in the presentation). There are a lot of templates available from within the app or on the internet.

Cons

The user interface is ugly, as in all other Google cloud applications (Docs and Sheets, notably). Sizing and positioning elements is not always accurate (or at least it is not intuitive how to do it accurately!). Animations are limited (and this is not necessarily a flaw). Some keyboard shortcuts do not work (or at least don't work as you would expect), which is fine in a cloud app, but it's frustrating when you are used to work on a local app. Format copying&pasting is very limited. Copying&pasting data into tables is a real nightmare: I rarely manage to succeed, so I usually have to rewrite the table content "by hand"

### "The collaborative presentation solution"

March 10, 2021

4.0

Never going back again to other presentation software. Collaboration features are the main reason.

Pros

As with all Google suite products, it is the collaboration that makes it most worthwhile. Aside from it being easy to work together, it is just easy to master. Coming from Keynote on mac, I missed the more graphical features, but even that has improved a lot. Once you understand Slides, you don't want to go back. Being able to go back to a previous version is also very easy, a feature that I tend to use mostly with Slides (not with Docs or Sheets).

Cons

Although it offers everything I need, I sometimes wished it had a bit more graphical features. Quick layouting (although there are other apps for that) a proposal could be better, the templating system or the templates on offer could be smarter. But having noticed the progress the product has made since its inception, I am sure it will further improve.

### "This is the future"

January 16, 2019

4.0

This is the best tool i've tested, im fully pleased with it. Of course you cant have it all, but as an overall this app wins by far.

Pros

i decided to test it to the limit by using Google Slides to create and present my final MSc dissertation. It flawlessly worked. No connection issues, everything was smooth, clean, no mistakes, i had to go back and forth many times and it did what it was intended to. No crashes, no fear to lose what i've done. And it saves versions in the background for each time you open the project. The main benefit for me was during the creation because sometimes i added info from my laptop, my desktop computer, several times from different friends computers and many times from my smartphone and that was a bless. That way i reduced times and efforts in creating the presentation and allowed me to add what ever i needed from my phone. As simple as drag and drop, use many available icons, edit pictures, round edge pictures and a lot of options without having too much options as other presentation tools. Drag pictures from internet, Interface is clean and simple, easy to find options. To have my final dissertation here meant i left everything in google's hands and it was worth it. Easy, beautiful, trusted, fast and free? What a no brainer! There is way to add free or paid icons using the Playstore.

Cons

There is room to improve in the graphic design of some icons so Google can imprint their own style.

For a free ready-to-use service that lives inside the Google ecosystem, Slides does exactly what it needs to do: no more, no less. Don't expect lots of bells and whistles but it will generally get the job done. I have built many presentations for schools and office teams, and it was always more than adequate for my needs.

Pros

It has a straightforward and easy-to-use interface. If you're familiar with any of the G-suite products, Sheets will feel intuitive and easy. It's built so anyone can quickly put together a slideshow without any specific knowledge of design.

Cons
