For everyday team decks it does the job fine and the collaboration side is great. I still jump to PowerPoint when I need something polished, but for quick stuff this is what we reach for.

Pros

It's free and lives right in the browser, so I can throw together a deck and share it with the team in minutes. Real-time co-editing is the big win for us, and everything just saves to Drive on its own. Easy to pick up if you've ever used PowerPoint.

Cons

It's pretty bare-bones next to PowerPoint. The template selection is thin and the animation and transition options are limited if you want anything fancy. It can also get laggy on really big decks, and you lose some formatting when exporting to PPTX.

Google Slides provides a smooth and reliable experience for creating presentations. Its ease of use makes it simple to design slides quickly, even for beginners, and its strong collaboration tools allow multiple users to work together in real time without confusion. It also performs well online with easy access from any device, making it convenient for both school and work projects.

Pros

What I liked most about Google Slides is its strong ease of use, making it simple to create and edit presentations from any device. It also offers great customization, templates, collaboration tools, allowing multiple people to work on the same presentation in real time, which makes group projects much easier. Makes things easy for professional use.

Cons

I have never had any issues with Google Slides. Minor bugs and easy to fix. Very reliable software!!

For internal decks or anything where you need quick collaboration, Google Slides gets the job done. For a polished client-facing presentation, I usually end up exporting to PowerPoint or rebuilding it elsewhere.

Pros

Real-time collaboration is the best part. Being able to work on a deck with someone else simultaneously, leave comments, and track changes makes back-and-forth with clients and teammates smoother and there's no need to track versions.

Cons

Design flexibility is limited compared to PowerPoint or Canva. Annoying that when you export to PPT or import from PPT, the formatting ALWAYS gets messed up. Not much precise control over layouts or more sophisticated animations. The template library is also pretty basic.

Pros

As a trainee I utilize Google Sheets quite often and it’s sooo easy to use. The prefilled templates are amazing and I love that you can integrate other templates to customize them even more.

Cons

The only thing I do not like (which I don’t even prefer) is the Gemini assist. I’ve played with it multiple times to see if it can help customize and it was a complete fail… also may be user error!

I use Google Slides every day in my classroom. It is a great way to project assignments on my TV screen as students come into my classroom. I also use it to project a daily riddle on the screen as students come back to my classroom after lunch. Google slides helps me maintain an orderly, well managed, quiet classroom.

Pros

I use Google Slides every day in my classroom to project daily assignments on my classroom TV screen. It is a valuable tool I have grown to depend on in my classroom to start our school day. Students come into my classroom, they see the assignment on the screen, and quietly get started. What a blessing!

Cons

Occasionally, if I let my mouse hover over slideshow, it will change out of the full screen mode. I then have to click on it again and move the mouse.

Overall, Google Slides is a great tool to use when making presentations. It is helpful in communicating reports, statistics, and other information.

Pros

Google Slides is a great resource for presentations, collaboration, communication, etc. The templates and styles are versatile, it is easy to use, and the value for money is incredible.
