Pros

I am loving the LaunchPad software! It is intuitive. It is thorough. They have thought of everything and have already provided solutions for things before I know that I need them --- and when I do eventually need something, it is already built-in and ready for me. Account management, order entry, billing, order and ad tracking, production, client communications, calendar management, forecasting --- and all data is continually updated in real time. They even seem to endure my questions with a smile on their face! I just couldn't be happier with this platform!

Cons

I can't think of anything to criticize. A couple of times I have made suggestions for something that could be improved and they agreed both times and implemented my ideas. These were minor tweaks, yet helpful and they happily and readily accommodated.

I have been very happy with this system and see how great it can be once I learn all aspects of it and become a "super user", I am still learning.

Pros

I love that there are different ways to find what I am looking for. I like that it is all laid out in one spot. I love that when I have a problem, the help desk immediately answers and the videos have been amazing for me to learn and re watch so one day I don't have to contact them.

Cons

The thing I like least is entering digital orders with more vague information, however I don't think this has anything to do with the software and as time goes on I am sure I will navigate how to do this

They sent me their canned response so I will not try to get a refund. I have done the work, but they DON'T CARE! But I havent seen any effort or engagements with the material or community other than skepticism and for that reason your initial refund request is denied.

Pros

They are very detailed in what they would like you to do to be successful.

Cons

They are over the top about making sure that they are giving you HIGH expectations of you spending hours to get everything done. They have a goal to make this process take A LOT OF TIME.

LP is an excellent sales tool which helped me be successful in the advertising and marketing space.

Pros

LP was easy to use and is a good CRM for client and prospect management. It has excellent search abilities when pulling up an account and it also has spell check for all my notes which is very helpful and surprisingly not a feature in all CRMs.

Cons

Only one item and that the inability to change color of the skin - initially they provided a pallet of colors but then they got rid of this feature.

I did about four or five demos with LP competitors before I made my final decision. We were about five minutes into the LP demo and I made my final decision. You won't find a team that is more friendly, helpful, and invested in your success than this team. Their onboarding is very comprehensive and worth every penny. I'm not the most traditional personality they deal with, so I asked for some special accommodations during the onboarding, and while I know it gave them a bit of heartburn, they agreed to it. For me it is working very well. I do not regret my choice whatsoever and that is largely due to the team behind the product.

Pros

First off, the level of organization by tracking contacts, ad sales, ad creative, editorial, legals, classifieds, revenue, and more is amazing. Best part is, after implementing this for a newspaper I just purchased, the insertion order was so professional that people were talking about it to other business owners. The people who heard about it called and wanted to purchase ads because they heard the new team was very organized and professional. These were businesses that had dropped or were new contacts. LP paid for itself in the first month due to these new opportunities we were able to close.

Cons

Honestly, I'm 90% happy with everything about LP. It is perfect for a small or mid-size newspaper, magazine, or publishing group. I can see where maybe a HUGE outfit like the New York Times might want something more robust, but for the majority of the publishing industry, this is what you need. The only cons are just minor things that probably don't matter. For instance, if you see a mistake on an insertion order mid-way through, it is best to just complete it, then edit it. If you use your browser's back-up function, it will duplicate the size of the order. The "cons" if you want to call them that are so minimal I hate to even bring them up. They do not impede the platform from being far better than I could imagine.

Reason for choosing LaunchPad Media Management

Price, the people I met, and the overall user experience is just superb. That is why I selected LP over the others. They were willing to help me figure out how to incur the cost while I was rebuilding a struggling newspaper. I also am launching a sizeable student journalist program and needed a way to manage student journalists from six different schools. While not a standard project for them, they knew just how to make the system work for this and really have made my life far simpler.

I have nothing but good things to say about LaunchPad. Aside from this being a very robust system that helps us do everything from managing our sales database to our magazine production and online inventory, as well as providing overall financial reporting for our company, LaunchPad has a really top-notch support team that is always available to help. That's a critical piece that we look for with any 3rd party that we use, especially when it's responsible for managing so many aspects of our business. Highly recommend.

Pros

As a niche publisher, LaunchPad is a great solution for managing advertisers and prospects, creating insertion orders and trafficking ad materials. The system is easy to learn and is used across all levels of our organization. Even though we've been using the system for years, there's still a lot of capabilities that we haven't taken advantage of which. in the long-term, will help us streamline some of our offline processes.

Cons

The launch of LaunchPad 2.0 was a bit of a learning curve for all involved, but once all of our users got used to it, it became very easy to use.

The LaunchPad team is super accessible and they are quick to respond when I have a question or concern. They take the time to know me and our business personally, which means they are able to better relate to me. I never feel like just a number to them and for that I am thankful for.

Pros

The LaunchPad management system allows me to easily track client information, sales progress, sales forecasting and reports I need to keep our business moving forward. I don't have to jump from one document to another. Everything I need lives within the system.

Cons

I wish there were an easier way to track 12x advertisers based on contract vs. calendar year spend. I also wish I could change when a fiscal year starts and ends as it is not on a calendar year.

Pros

This software has everything you need at your fingertips. It is extremely user friendly and if you come across a probem the support team is there to answer your questions quickly and efficiently. I love that the system generates our IO's electronically and processes the sale from start to finish.

Cons

Itegration was seamless. I do not have any suggestins for improvement at this time.

I am quite pleased with this transition over to LaunchPad and I am excited to explore the software beneath the layers, so that I can utilize LP to the fullest potential. Looking forward to have a fully integrated CRM in the future as well.

Pros

The best part about LaunchPad is their support team. I am not a surface level software user and I tend to want to dig deep beneath the layers to fully understand the processes and utilization methods. The support team at LaunchPad are extremely knowledgeable, super responsive and provide thorough details in their responses. A great feature that they offer is video demo support - to help ease the process of walking clients through different modalities and functionalities.

Cons

I find the digital advertising insertion order process to be a bit complex. This could be merely a user interface issue on my end, but I am not a fan of the way dates are listed in the system and having to select a date that is already setup in LP. It would be a lot more user friendly if a calendar date selection module was an option. This would decrease the amount of work on both the company and LP side.

I'm pleased with the customer service, regular updates, and variety of reports for different purposes.

Pros

Launchpad makes the connection between our sales account records and our production process very intertwined and easy to track (once you learn the system).

Cons

It's a bit hard to train on; some functions are not always as straightforward as you might think at first glance. Our sales team would also really love an app; the mobile-responsive view serves the basic purpose of looking up accounts, but isn't helpful for regular on the road note-taking or sending contracts.

Really great relationship. Great business partners.

Pros

Easy to use, designed for media sales, GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Very intuitive for new employees.

Cons

No interface with QuickBooks. LaunchPad does a great job of billing, but it is hard to balance with my GL in Quickbooks. This is a problem that could be solved with a plugin, but that could also be hard for them to maintain. Basically, I balance AR manually at the end of each quarter. Not a huge issue.

The software is endlessly useful for relationship management. When users correctly and carefully enter and manage their data, it can be used to create customer call lists segmented in a variety of ways depending on the scope of the project. Very impressive.

Pros

It's very intuitive and easy to use. As a sales person, I need a tool that makes it easier for me to do my job correctly, not harder. LaunchPad has everything I need right at my fingertips, to allow me to work efficiently. From easily accessed customer information to numerous reports pertaining to forecasts, marketing profiles, customer info, and lots more. It just works.

Cons

Nothing really. (There are some detailed reports I would find very useful that are not yet available, but I know that they could be built for me if I choose to pay to do so.)

Pros

The software covers all aspects of our operation--client management, production and design, and accounting. In the three years we've used the program, there's been many enhancements.

Cons

There's so many features, it's challenging to encourage staff to take advantage of them.

Pros

The Broadcast E-mail Feature is awesome.

Cons

I wish the Broadcast Feature could tell the customer what ad size they were running when it's sent out. The Pickup Feature was always confusing, I have not used it in since a new recent upgrade in 2.0 upgrade there was a part not working in LaunchPad 2.0 .

I've seen an entire B2B multi-title business transformed with this software. Once you put something like this in place you get to eradicate multiple spreadsheets and disjoint processes. The most important thing you could do to turbocharge your media business.

Pros

Handles everything from CRM to quote request to billing and cash application in one spot. Is specifically tailored to B2B media.

Cons

There's not much to dislike about Launchpad, particularly for the money.

Training/onboarding was a bit long. Needs to be streamlined. Show us what we need to know. Hoping it works out for our company.

Pros

The software is intuitive. Easy to use. Made for Media companies to track advertising, sponsorships, and memberships.

Cons

The support is lacking a bit. Owner/creator is a bit pampas. Thinks their CRM is superior to everyone else’s. We need to keep in mind this is a CRM tool at its heart. Keep it simple, let it tell us what we need to know, keep it easy for the sales teams
