I use the platform primarily to review and authorise invoices, and for that purpose it works well. The process is clear, quick, and reliable, allowing approvals to be completed efficiently without friction. While I don’t use the wider functionality, for invoice sign-off Lightyear delivers a smooth and dependable experience. Pros Lightyear is straightforward and efficient for invoice approval. It makes it easy to review, authorise, and sign off invoices quickly without unnecessary complexity. The interface is clear and does exactly what I need it to do from an approval perspective. Cons As someone who only uses Lightyear for invoice authorisation, many of the wider features feel unnecessary to me. I don’t use the platform beyond approvals, so some functionality isn’t relevant for my day-to-day role. The automated approvals and two-way matching has cut down errors and streamlined our workflow, while the support team has been responsive and helpful. The only challenge was the initial setup and learning curve, but once we got past that, the efficiency gains and cost savings have been great. Pros I like that the purchase order system is intuitive and new staff pick it up very quickly. The automated approvals keep everything moving without delays and the two-way matching between POs and invoices has drastically cut down on errors and we’ve saved countless hours every month. Cons The initial learning about the various tabs/workflows and finding a way to make it work best for us. Also, not being able to have a free in person session about 6 months in to work through small queries. It's an easy to use system with a good archiving facility. Pros Lightyear is easy to use as an accounts payable program saving a huge amount of time verses manually entering invoices and helping to minimize human error. It has purchase order and statement modules and is constantly evolving and improving to allow customers to map invoices to meet their own company needs. Cons No cons. Like any program you use, you still need to check and make required changes as needed for your own business process. The smart extraction is a game changer for hand-written invoices. The new splitting of merging tool is a great addition. I think Lightyear are constantly looking to improve which is a refreshing change for this type supplier. Cons I find the processing page a little annoying, it jumps around a bit. Rather than work on my actions in the back ground it will jump to an invoice if its completed extracting it. Its not cheap.....
