I don't have a bad thing to say about Jane. I've used 3 other software's prior to Jane and they pale in comparison. I set up my own practise 2 years ago and I honestly feel Jane made the whole process so much easier. Thank you Jane - easy 5 stars from me.

Pros

The online booking, statements and billing documents, it integrates with stripe and phsyiapp, easy to customize forms etc. You can duplicate notes create phrases which makes writing notes quick and easy. Customer service is fantastic. Above and beyond any other similar service. And when you need to leave they send you PDF of all client notes which makes it a breeze to comply with data safe keeping.

Cons

I wish they offered it in the country I am moving to.

### "Happy I switched to Jane"

My experience has been excellent. I am glad I switched.

Pros

I like that I can log in from anywhere, on all types of devices. I don't have to pay for backup storage because it is cloud based. It is easy to use. They have a ton of help videos and articles online. Patients like the online scheduling.

Cons

Some of the reports could be better. I would like to know how many of each CPT code I have done.

Eclipse does everything you want but does it very clunky. It is not smooth to use. I wanted online scheduling and bill paying for patients. I also wanted to be able to send my intake forms ahead of the appointments. I wanted all of that to be easy for the patient. Eclipse cloud could do all of that but Eclipse was much harder to use compared to Jane. I did not trust Eclipse to make all of that easy for the patient.

### "Clarity NB Review"

Adore Jane and their Support Team and their how to articles are amazing and very helpful.

Pros

How organized it is, how much you can do within Jane, and the support.

Cons

Certain functions are not obvious and are easily overlooked therefore not using the site to it's full advantage. Also, the break button could be displayed in a different way as breaks seems to be easily set somewhere it doesn't belong for some reason.

Still fresh and getting things set up but the customer service/support team has been so wonderful at answering questions and helping me with areas I am unfamiliar with. The features of Jane that I have learned about so far are exciting in the way that it will make many aspects of my job so much easier. Definitely wish we took this step sooner.

### "Great for most practices, just not ours"

Great customer service and there are a lot of users, so questions about how Jane can help your practice can easily be answered via social media and their support team. We have a complicated practice, that also includes medical services that are billable to our provincial health insurance, which Jane is not integrated with. We have also added many more services and Jane just could not meet all the needs of our practice effectively. I do still recommend for basic, smaller and practices that are not as complicated in nature.

Pros

It is very easy to use and was not difficult to set up practitioners, services and products. The online booking platform is also very patient user-friendly. Report functions are pretty straight forward and I did really like the auto-fill of patient information with intake form completion! The self check-in feature is nice, but would be better if the patient could self complete the appointment as well, right down to the payment. Otherwise, it really doesn't save many steps.

Cons

I didn't like how Jane would lock into the last patient when navigating the schedule. It often landed me into the wrong patient's chart or billing information and was quite frustrating. As silly as it is, I hated that there were only 8 colour choices for services. We have so many different services and it was hard to keep them straight. I did also find their 'shift' and 'tagging' functions to be more complicated than they need to be.

Reason for choosing Jane

Jane was chosen by one of our owners who had no medical or clinical experience. I did my best to make it work, but unfortunately I needed to transition to another software that fits better for us.

### "Best system for medical charting & scheduling that I have ever used"

Using Jane has been outstandingly good, an aspect of my daily work that has simply made my professional life easier and more enjoyable. I have used various EMR systems in previous years (such as InputHealth) which were terrible by comparison, a constant headache, and much more expensive too.

Pros

It is easy to use, inexpensive, obviously well thought-out, is reliable, never any serious problems with it, and for minor issues the staff are rapidly responsive and helpful. It has the features I need for convenient, rapid scheduling, including recurrent appointments, notes, and billing (linked to a Canadian public healthcare service plan). It has automated appointment reminders and you can create & send your own questionnaires or intake forms before appointments, which I have found very useful.

Cons

I would like Jane to be able to keep stored files in different folders (such as lab reports, specialist reports, letters, etc.); at present all downloaded files are in the same single folder. Then it would be good to sort through these files alphabetically or by date, etc. It could be useful to send & receive faxes or other files automatically within the system. At present I have to export files (such as reports) from Jane to other software before faxing, or create the files elsewhere (such as for prescriptions) before faxing.

### "Support team are top notch professionals "

Consistently helpful support team, but I have only needed them 3 times in 2 years! On boarding / set up documents and system were well organized and easy to follow. I love being able to use templates and / or tweak notes on the fly. As a solo practitioner, it is helpful to have access to the template library to save time (borrow others' templates or standardized testing tools) rather than needing to build it all out myself.

Pros

When I need help, I have options to use chat, voice call, email, use the bot, or search the guide. Today I choose the chat option so I could continue to work in the background while getting timely assistance. Through the chat, screen shots and a loom video, I was able to correct my issue at my convenience. As happens most of the time, it wasn't a Jane issue, it was a user issue but I was given professional, nonjudgemental support from \[sensitive content hidden\]. He was able to ask clarifying questions, look into the various aspects that impacted my scheduling issue and show me how to fix it. I also appreciate the new Ted Test option to see what clients see/ experience without creating false data in the system.

Cons

I sometimes get confused or forget some details about different appointment types and schedule settings; the details need to line up for the whole system to work properly. But this is true for any EMR, and it isn't really a Jane issue, it's a human issue of keeping up with the details.

### "Perfect for private medical practitioners"

Pros

I loved that Jane made the administrative side of being a private practice RN much simpler and met several of my needs for charting, booking, consents, etc with one program. They have been fantastic any time I needed to call for help both while I was using the product as well as after I stopped my business. I also love that they have a real person to talk to at the other end of the customer service line. It was easy for me to use and easy for my clients to use.

Cons

No, I had no complaints with Jane, it met all my needs.

Reason for choosing Jane

I looked at Medeo as well as a few US based charting systems. I chose Jane because it was easier to navigate, was affordable for my small business needs, and most importantly met legal requirements for Canadian medical practices.

### "It just works"

Pros

It always just works, whenever I want something the feature exists and functions as expected. Their customer service is incredible. They get back to you incredibly quickly with personalised emails or video explanations. always blows me away. They're just great. Also whenever I'm unsure of something there are heaps of quick and easy video guides.

Cons

Writing letters to doctors is still something I do outside of Jane in word. with previous software I have used there has been a good feature to instantly convert something into a letter addressed to the right Drs with CCs etc. Jane has this feature but it isn't good enough to use. This is truly my only negative feedback.

The calendar is good. The forms are customizable.

Cons

Saved work is not backed up. Only signed work. Huge flaw when massive amounts of information is lost. The new video opening in a browser has caused problems for me and several clients.

That the platform is not in french. Not user friendly when working in a french environment if your employee do not speak english (Quebec, Canada) An app could be great for phone

Can't imagine using anyone else for right now.

Pros

Jane's competitors don't seem to hold a candle to Jane. Most of my peers prefer Jane even with its current drawbacks. I appreciate the low fees and high frequency of updates and improvements and great caring customer support.

Cons

I don't even use the charting system unfortunately. I wish it integrated with more things. I wish billing insurance was easier. I wish a lot of things haha

I have loved it and I intend to continue to use it!

Pros

I love that I can get help if needed through email or over the phone and that I am always talking with a live person, not a recording. I love that I can literally take care of my billing, my scheduling, my payments, and my notes/charting all in one place!

Cons

I don't have any complaints yet, I just wish that I better understood the insurance side of things but I honestly think once I start sending claims through it will became really easy for me, I just need practice.

Because my business coach highly recommended Jane and the price wasn't that much compared to Therapy Notes and Simple Practice

### "Great Product and better Customer Service"

Pros

Product is very easy to use. The tutorials available online for training purposes are thorough. The customer service for the product is beyond top notch. Jane offers help through email, phone, facebook, and even a suggestion board to suggest new/helpful features to improve.

Cons

The reporting options are limiting, they need more customization. The calendar needs to be a more functional with a monthly option, as well as an ability to block off holidays or closures.

Overall, this has renewed my vigour for running a small business. I can't say enough about how positive my experiences with the customer service team have been. I like that the software is set up to take into account the aspects relating to our professional governing bodies' regulations (in our case the CMTBC) keeping it straighforward and up-to-date.

Pros

I love that the Jane app is both very "powerful" but also so reliable. This has revolutionized running my massage therapy practice. Online booking is great for so many reasons... clients love the ease of use and being able to check availability on their terms when it's convenienct for THEM. No waiting for a call-back and playing phone tag. The integration for accepting payment is also really great. Keeping track of things is now straightforward and streamlined. The customer service team is also second to none! If ever there are hiccups, their staff has always been able to help in a timely manner. Their approach is consistently professional and it is actually a pleasure dealing with them because I know they will do their utmost to help.

Cons

We had a couple of minor issues getting the payment terminal to connect to our various devices when switching from using Square to Stripe, but it was just a matter of a call to their support team it got resolved. There is a lot more the software can do than what we use it for so it can seem a little overwhelming at first, but they manage to turn any "negatives" into positive customer service experiences.

I've worked on Jane for a while. Previously, I did not have access to all the features (practioner settings), but today I do, and I'm loving it. I had researched using the Jane guide, and it is very clear.

Pros

It's a "one stop" shop for my art therapy practice (in line with Canadian HIPPA and PIPEDA) standards. It provides all one needs (booking, appts, online sessions, charting, payments, billing & invoicing, accounting, etc.). Client demographics + and data (charts +) is secure. Other than keeping track of my other business expenditures, Jane does all my accounting and my business data is easily accessible through reports.

Cons

I would like to be able to eventually use Jane for online group sessions, but this is a minor factor in my practice. When doing that, there are ways around it, and all other aspects of running a group can be done through Jane (using the in-person) settings for bookings.

Reason for choosing Jane

I decided to remain with Jane because of the ease of use, it's "one-stop" platform, and also because of pricing. Jane's rate includes video conferencing for all pricing packages. Jane also supports community endeavors and not-for-profit businesses with bursaries that can help keep overhead costs a bit lower. This reflects their commitment to people, communities, and agencies.

### "There's really nothing else like this"

Jane has made so many things easier and dare I say - enjoyable. I used to dread all of my time spent on the computer, but no longer. From charting to managing payments and scheduling, there's really no comparison to Jane. A little more expensive than some bare bones options out there - but we made up for it (and then some) by simply reducing the # of no-shows. We used to have more than our share of no shows despite our previous software's email reminders. Jane's ability to add both email & text reminder options (WITHOUT added fees for text reminders!!!!) & set things up so the patient's could select the options that work best for them was a godsend. Much fewer no-shows now. Charting is quicker, more efficient and more legible. Customer service (email or phone) is friendly and focused on providing specific answers to my specific questions - no stock answers that sorta kinda maybe apply to my question. It's obvious Jane is the product of a lot of work and development to meet the needs of how real businesses work while also recognizing that all businesses operate differently and could benefit from customization to meet their needs. It sounds kitschy but Jane really does make our clinic & my life better.

Pros

Sorry - can't pick just one, but for us the text reminder option (without additional cost) itself made up for the slight difference in cost compared to what we were using before. With text reminders we don't have the amount of no shows or late cancels that we used to. Also - custom charting/templates and ability to modify charts made by others before us, has saved me SO MUCH TIME charting & also made my charts more legible & organized. I'm embarrassed it took us so long to switch

Cons

It's so advanced compared to what I was used to that I got a bit overwhelmed at first. Fortunately, the various videos, articles, phone support, demo clinic (where I could play with various settings etc) and online meeting support was phenomenal with everyone genuinely friendly and focused on helping you without stock replies. Other con is that we had to use a not-so-perfect workaround for tracking groupon & other prepaid packages we sell. However, the good news is they're rolling out a fix for that sometime this fall

Reason for choosing Jane

more bang for the buck. so many more features, not having to pay extra for text reminders (very important to us), the level of customization possible (yowza!), and the ability to tool around with the demo clinic to see first-hand how Jane looked and felt. After comparing and evaluating, the decision to choose jane was a no brainer.

Every time we add a feature to Jane we have to make sure it will work in the seemingly MILLIONS of ways people out there like to run their clinics. Jane has been great overall. You cannot beat the customer service, however I have spent too much time figuring out how to do "workarounds" on my own and I wish that I did not have to do that so much.

Pros

The customer support is the most amazing feature. They are all intelligent and friendly. I like the upbeat design as well. It takes a while to learn the little things to do workarounds, but once I achieve that, then I believe that I will be able to function just as well as a more expensive EHR with a much cheaper cost. For a medical practice, it is much better than other inexpensive EHRs like Simple Practice that really would not work well at all.

Cons

There are things that I want to be able to customize more easily in the emails. As a medical practice, it lacks features to integrate with pharmacies and labs, but that would prob be an upgrade. There are some simple things that could be easily fixed that I have to do a feature request for and probably will be a long while, if at all like 1. Adding a middle name to profile information. (yet it has a "pronoun" feature) 2. Sending a post visit email to a patient with a custom message 3. Lacking the integration for the transfer of intake information into the first appointment chart. 4. A customizable dashboard for each patient would be awesome. I really need that. Like simply a dashboard of shortcuts to the WHOLE CHART, where I can put notes like the last prescription sent, pharmacy etc and not have to toggle around to find the info everywhere. So there is more time spent trying to figure out how to do "workarounds" and this has been pretty time consuming.

Jane is invaluable to my business. My clients can book on line with ease. I can build their client profiles, chart, keep track of billing and print out a multitude of reports all very easily. I look forward to each new feature or update that jane keeps coming out with.

Pros

I love how easy and intuitive Jane is when learning new aspects of the software. The customer service support staff are very quick to help problem solve or send you in the right direction. Jane university is incredibly helpful when trying to problem solve your self or learn new aspects of the software. The integration with Telus has saved so much time for me daily, it really adds up. I also love the ability to use Jane payments so clients can use credit cards to pay.

Cons

I wish there was an option to keep canceled appointments viewable in your schedule. Maybe similar to the wait list feature. You just click on it and it pops up to show you the clients that canceled that day.

Just navigate to the Schedule and select the little wheel in the bottom right-hand corner. Go ahead and click the toggle beside "Canceled" and voila! Pros

I'm grateful for how reliable Jane is. We generally have very few patient complaints about Jane (e.g. patient portal, online booking). Any difficulties are resolved quickly and thoroughly with an email or phone call to Jane. Any transitions with practitioners coming or going, are smooth. Much of the program is intuitive.

Cons

Inventory management (e.g. if you have a larger dispensary with many suppliers), needs some attention.
