It makes it easier to find construction projects and submit bids. The platform is user-friendly and offers helpful tools for managing leads. While there are a few areas for improvement, it’s a solid source for growing a contractor business. Pros PlanHub is easy to use and has a clean, organized website. I like how quickly I can find and bid on projects that match my trade and location. The notifications keep me updated on new opportunities. It saved me time compared to searching for leads manually. It is a modern interface, easy to geofence where I want jobs, and I have used the take-off capabilities extensively and really like them. Pros It is the most accurate of all the apps in determining if there are requirements that fit my trade. The take-off software is outstanding as well. It's easy and intuitive to use/navigate, and support is readily available if I have a question. Cons All of the various add-on modules get confusing, which makes the pricing somewhat opaque. I would like to see more up front, clear pricing. Switched from [Bluebook ProEstimator](https://www.capterra.com/p/161839/Bluebook-PRO-Estimator/) Inaccurate job matching based on my trade. Owner Construction Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Disgruntled Business Owner" March 24, 2026 1.0 The beginning was good, my team and I followed the recommended way of reaching out to different general contractors. What we found was most of them post their plans to 10 different websites and have no desire to want to actually do any business with the people that are reaching out. After the first few months and going 0/10 on bids with half of them not returning calls or receiving feedback, we began reducing resources spent here. The $1,999 subscription auto renewed even though I had told my rep I had no interest in renewing 4-6 months prior. The emails were buried in spam and fine print, and they refuse to issue refunds. Very disappointed with my experience overall. Pros There were an abundance of opportunities, however must of them are shelled out to hundreds of contractors. Cons The renewal process is awful, they bury their rules in fine print, their emails auto populate to spam and they refuse to issue any refunds. Pros Able to preview plans without having to download them. shows all GCs bidding on a project even if we did not receive an invite from them. Cons It is difficult to find the architecturals or structurals or just the plan set because many of the names on files are in code and don't make sense. There is always plenty of opportunity to bid jobs. Pros Ease of use and always updating. There are always jobs to bid with a multitude of GC's to bid to in one click. Cons Some jobs get lost in the shuffle and they are tough to search out. Would love to be able to see what jobs won with which GC. This has helped us grow our own network of subs nationwide. Cons PlanHub is growing and there are naturally some growing pains. The document handling is not great, but I happen to know that new changes are coming in this area and it is going to be so much more user friendly! The format and ease of sending bids to multiple contractors without needing to individually email is great. Cons Need bigger projects and access to engineers without paying extra. Maybe a rating system to rate companies by past work performances would be good. As well as 1 on 1 meetings to show and discuss products that may benefit our company specifically. Pros The ability to customize your plan to include our company's specific area of work. As well as easy filtering of job types that we specialize in. And recently we have taken more advantage of the direct contact planhub provides with other companies, whether discussing our intent to bid or submitting it when the time comes. Cons We seem to see a huge lack of larger scale commercial projects that may be subject to invite only. So more visibility and access to projects they may fall outside our normal scopes to possible improve our search with companies we may not have relations with. It is possible to review sets of plans and get some exposure and training even on the jobs that you don't bid. Pros Planhub gives easy access to multiple projects in the service area and the takeoff tool works great! New additional features that let you communicate with GCs and suppliers allow better networking and collaboration during the bid process. Cons I think it's problematic to navigate the files of a project when they are uploaded a single page at a time. This is not an issue with the software itself, but it is annoying when it happens. Great site to see bids related to your industry. Seems to be very up to date on bids. I recently got the early bird upgrade so i can see bids before they are even bids. Pros I like how its way more user friendly and clean compared to other bid sites. I also like that it sends me and all of my team updates. Other sites only send to the main email. Cons I just have an issue seeing the page numbers when i am going through the docs. It doesnt show me what page im on so i cant click through. it is an obvious glitch and i assume it will be fixed. Cons When I am done looking at a particular section, The arrow is not available to go back so I have to hit X and it goes out completely back to the email invitation and I have to start all over again. We have built a small network of through planhub and plan to use it in the future. Pros There is easy access to the plans. There is plenty of general contractors on the planhub subscription, so the network to expand is easy. Submitting a proposal is easy and quick and you can send one proposal for all. Cons The different pricing tiers are confusing. The amount of emails you get is a lot so be prepared to be able to sort through the ones you like and not. We have not intentions of not using it in the future. Pros It has been very useful for us as a subcontractor, to load in our estimate for bidding GC's to untilize. Cons On occasion it will ask us to upgrade our plan to view projects in depth. However, it hasn't become an issue as we can reach out to the sending GC for clarification. I would encourage PlanHub to entertain the thought of color-coding bid invites by specific categories, such as all New Construction be in green, all wood trusses be orange, and so on and so forth. Pros It is far easier to navigate as opposed to other sites. I thoroughly enjoy Planhub far more than the others. Cons It seems with the updated version that offers the feature to send a message directly, I am not able to copy and paste the emails to add to my quote calendar anymore.
