In addition, they are interested in hearing about ways to improve and try to implement some of the changes quickly. Pros PlanHub has a large network of ACTIVE subcontractors. This has helped us grow our own network of subs nationwide. Cons PlanHub is growing and there are naturally some growing pains. The document handling is not great, but I happen to know that new changes are coming in this area and it is going to be so much more user friendly! March 9, 2026 5.0 We have been using this program for the past 2-3 years. The amount of projects we have been awarded is a total value for our money. Pros We love the fact that lots of General Contractors and projects are loaded directly into a system specifically searching for our trade which saves us time searching for projects. The plans & drawings are easy to download and perform take-off's from. Our estimating team loves this program. Cons When we decide to not bid a project and click the icon, the project is supposed to archive. I believe there is a glitch in the system leaving the project in the queue and confuses our estimating team when one individual has decided not to bid a project, but the other individual does not know that it has already been reviewed and waste time. We started with a trial, submitted a bid, and ended up winning our first project within a few weeks. Since then, we’ve secured multiple additional jobs through the platform and even built relationships with contractors who later offered us work outside of PlanHub. It has genuinely helped our business grow and has become a key part of our estimating and bidding process. Pros What I liked most about PlanHub is how easily it connects subcontractors with real opportunities. The platform has a very intuitive interface, making it simple to review plans, submit bids, and track project updates. It has helped us reach contractors we would have never met otherwise and has opened the door to long-term business relationships. We are also using the takeoff features with the program and are getting good feedback from our team. Pros The platform brought a few of our projects to a much wider range of subcontractors and help bring in new subs for future projects. The learning curve for the software was minimal and very user friendly. Cons Not too happy about mobile access to the projects. Moving between sections is not very user friendly. Too many messages coming in for adding the pay for products we are not going to use. Pros It has helped us make some contacts. I enjoyed the meet and greet. I like that the site gives the builder contact info and the date bid is due and the message part not that most answer back when asked questions or follow ups. Most of all I like the full screen option!!! Cons The search option doesn't show/highlight some or all of the key words that were searched for. It doesn't recognize it on the plans (full word or a tag). Can't 100% trust the search option in the take offs. Must count it manually. I would encourage PlanHub to entertain the thought of color-coding bid invites by specific categories, such as all New Construction be in green, all wood trusses be orange, and so on and so forth. Pros It is far easier to navigate as opposed to other sites. I thoroughly enjoy Planhub far more than the others. Cons It seems with the updated version that offers the feature to send a message directly, I am not able to copy and paste the emails to add to my quote calendar anymore. Owner Construction Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Disgruntled Business Owner" March 24, 2026 1.0 The beginning was good, my team and I followed the recommended way of reaching out to different general contractors. What we found was most of them post their plans to 10 different websites and have no desire to want to actually do any business with the people that are reaching out. After the first few months and going 0/10 on bids with half of them not returning calls or receiving feedback, we began reducing resources spent here. The $1,999 subscription auto renewed even though I had told my rep I had no interest in renewing 4-6 months prior. The emails were buried in spam and fine print, and they refuse to issue refunds. Very disappointed with my experience overall. Pros There were an abundance of opportunities, however must of them are shelled out to hundreds of contractors. Cons The renewal process is awful, they bury their rules in fine print, their emails auto populate to spam and they refuse to issue any refunds. You have to do the leg work by putting in, gathering the information and searching the files for your specific trade. Very easy to communicate with GC's Pros Easy bidding, and access to take off anywhere, on my iPad, laptop, PC anywhere compared to Onscreen it wont let you use IOS or Mac, but plan hub does. Cons take off is different compared to onscreen take off which is what I use on my old computer and I use plan hubs take off when I'm on my laptop. I am excited to see more GC's added with even more work to chase. Pros Easy to interface and plenty of work to chase. The contact info for the GC's is good but it would be nice if they replied more often or if there was a way to see that the message had been read. Cons The submitted bid area should have an indicator showing that the bid has been opened/received by GC. It would be nice if a bid tab was available for review so we can see how competitive our numbers are in the market.
