Planhub has made my bidding part of my job so much easier! I have never had any problems with planhub, they have come a long ways since I first started using them. Pros I have used Plan Hub for many years. I use several different Planrooms and software and Planhub is the best. They have a large Subcontractor base which is needed for out of town jobs. Every job I bid goes one planhub. Cons I wish I could message the subs from my original email address. Pros Planhub is useful tool whether your are bidding on a local project (example D.M.V.) or out of state. We get to meet tons of new sub contractors to help us win bids. It's easy to setup project whether it is union/non-union, phased/regular hours etc... Cons There should be a way to view local subs that have viewed the projects when searching for people who have downloaded the project files. General Contractors bidding listed with their contact information. Receive an abundance of ITBs. Establishing new contacts from the ITBs we quote. Cons At times, the uploaded documents are scattered. Have to download to easily find the pages I specifically review. Reason for choosing PlanHub Likes what you had to offer and the price. We understand the frustration with scattered uploaded documents. 95% of the projects posted on PlanHub are posted by the GC themselves and they are sent out exactly as they are loaded. We are currently working on PlanHub 2.0 which will have an improved file organizer that will allow GCs to better categorize their files. In addition, we will also be introducing an on screen OCR reader that will allow you to search files using specific keywords, improving your estimating process. Head of Estimating Construction Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Beware subcontractors - your quotes are on public display" August 30, 2019 1.0 The customer service was terrible. Their solution to my issue was for me to change our standard operating procedure instead of offering some kind of interest or resolution to my concerns. When a paying customer tells you about an problem that is going to keep them from renewing their subscription, the best customer service approach is to try to change the software to add a feature dealing with this issue. Planhub asked us to make a change to find a way around our concern. I am not going to pay for a service that is giving away our pricing to anyone that signs up and I'm sure many other subcontractors would feel the same way. Pros This software is very easy to use without any kind of tutorial needed. Cons Our quotes on Planhub are viewable to any contractor that connects to a project. We are selective about who is allowed to know our pricing for 2 reasons: we only work with select contractors and we would like to keep our pricing out of the hands of our competition. When I talked to customer service about this privacy issue I was asked to change how I quoted projects instead of given an actual solution from the developers . Sometimes, there are GC's bidding that you did not have on your list, you find them on Planhub. Pros Usually list all the GC's bidding on a project, as well as the plan documents. Cons You can not type in a job name and perform a search for a particular job. You have to go through the list page by page to find the job you are looking for. The ability to search for projects by name is a little tricky if not spelled exactly as the project is posted. We deal with the same issue internally. Fortunately we are currently working on a major update which will have an improved search feature similar to how Google's search works. Even if you spell a name incorrectly it should generate close matches. The update is scheduled to be released early 2020. JB John B. Pros Ease of use. Does a good job connecting me to bids in my specific area and my specific field. Cons Nothing negative to say about it. Doing exactly what we need--connecting us to a lot of relevant construction projects. Suggestion: I would like to connect to projects further upstream in the design phase (ie: owners, developers, or Architects). Secondly: It would be nice to be able to get a regional targeted mailing list. Reason for choosing PlanHub Just gave it a chance. We tried several before we found Planhub. The difficulty is the users and how they setup their projects. Pros This project is simple to use and easy to navigate to your project. Cons The way project files are listed in projects make looking through documents difficult. Files are not organized alphabetically or numerically. You can also get download issues on documents. The information is very complete. Cons I get so many emails from so many different companies for the same project instead of have the all on the same one email. Now this doesn't happen all the time but, it sure makes it difficult when you have to go back and search all your emails to submit the bids. Pros Nothing they convinced one of our ex colleges to sign up and never used and they are billing us after 2 years Cons Everything they let people sign in who don't have the authority and then keep on billing us indefinitely . They sended emails to the old owner and old co worker !!! One big scam !!! My demo yesterday helped, but I will need to continue learning as I go. Pros The price - it was affordable. Also, since so many GC's are using PlanHub, if we wanted to access their plans, we needed to subscribe. Cons Doesn't seem easy to maneuver - dependent on how the data is input into PlanHub from the General Contractors whether it makes it easy for me to get through the civils. Other plan rooms give more of a cut and paste option on some of the features, haven't found that so with PlanHub. Not an issues but maybe there is a way to just send the updates to the folks that are bidding or have downloaded the plans. Pros Ease of use, very user friendly. Contains almost all the project details you would need to know. Cons Not much negative to say at this point, its a good system, just when you bid you are not sure how many others you are up against for the project. It has given me more GC's to bid on several jobs and that means I am reach a bigger client base. Pros I like everything about PlanHub. The search process is easy which means that I get more quotes to the GC's and this means I can bid more jobs. Cons The only thing that I do not like is the fact that you do not show the GC's address on site. In my quote process we add the GC's address to the quote and this means that I have to go looking for the address on the web or through previous quotes. Pros Advertisement to construction subcontractor, vendor members in the several states we work in for bid management. Cons Communication. We receive clarification request from prospective sub/vendors, a) with inability to locate specific documents we post in the data base; b) directing a sub/vendor by name, telephone number, without showing their email address sent to my work email. It is a major time inconvenience to call the sub/vendor, and inability to reply via email; c) Small number of work activities shown in several categories.
