The ease of use, the time it saves me from having to calculate room budgets/quotes in a separate program. Overall very excited about this program and have had a great experience Cons I would love if there were a few more financial features. Synching with QB has not been hit or miss. My design fees are also customized by project, so would love if there were a way for a client to purchase their "custom package" w/out anyone else being able to see what they were charged. I've have been adding the design fee manually to invoices, but then it doesn't calculate as a profit in design files. Review Source AC Amy C. April 6, 2020 5.0 Presenting ideas through professional design boards is priceless in getting an overall vision across to my customers. For what I do in my business, DF has been a great asset and I'm not even using a fraction of its functionality yet. Pros All the current features and overall functionality is very professional, yet easy to use. If I can use it and produce professional designs to send to my clients, then \*anyone\* can! Cons From a design perspective, there are still just a few things that aren't perfect, but Design Files staff is always improving and adding features. The challenge is adding features while still keeping everything simple to use. I think they are doing a tremendous job at DF balancing the design features and keeping things simple for the user. Pros The 3D feature, “shop it” feature, invoices... Cons I’d like to see more room templates. The past few projects I’ve had a tough time putting together a 3D design board because the none of the templates quite fit the way the room was and window placement. Pros We love the mood board in Design Files. It's easy to use and very professional looking. Cons I can't seem to find where I can enter full contact info for my clients or vendors. Also, when creating a board, I have to enter an email rather than choosing from a drop down or entering the client's name. Their email is what is listed on the quote, which is not appealing. Reason for choosing DesignFiles We actually signed on to MyDoma and DesignFiles. We got MyDoma because we run our packages through there, but we like DesignFiles for your mood board. I know we can run packages through DF, but we like MyDoma better for that. Review Source LS Lisa S. They are always improving their product to make it fit the needs of their design clients. Pros The ease, functionality and customer support is fantastic. Still love this program, and there is SO much room for potential. Dislike the way the presentation file does not nicely space out the product pages. Looks unprofessional and I cannot change it. Pros Love the transform tool, love the library of products. Cons The need to go back and forth between saving designs and back to projects then to edit something else...that whole process can be streamlined with having the whole project available at one time to edit all together. Need outdoor/patio/screened in porch empty spaces. Templates for 2d boards would be so helpful. Pros Easy to use, straightforward. Only program I know of like this. Very handy! Great customer support as well. Cons More functionality would be great. Perspective rugs would be awesome, and the "Remove Background" feature is kind of useless unless your item is a perfect square or rectangle. Still finding myself having to go into Photoshop to erase a lot of shadows, which really adds to the time because then you have to manually import everything instead of using your handy bookmark. We all love that we can comment and keep a conversation thread going in just one place. Pros Customer service is AWESOME! My reps are the best! SO knowledgeable, ready and willing to answer any of our questions. She's also open to implementing new ideas and features into DesignFiles. They have worked so hard on this software and it shows. Love how we can add products from the internet so effortlessly Cons I would just want there to be more features (which they are always working on). I'd love for our interior design firm to do everything through DesignFiles and not have to use multiple platforms. Ordering, client database, etc. But they are getting there! Review Source Tyler B. July 19, 2019 4.0 Pros As a freelance graphic designer, this software does wonders to help me keep my projects organized, and clients happy. It's a huge time saver. It keeps my various conversations organized, and allows me selectively show different pieces (concepts, timelines, etc) with clients. Plus its easy to use and brings everything under one roof. Cons I've noticed it can get a bit laggy sometimes, and I haven't been able to work out whether it's the software itself or something with my computer. I wouldn't think the latter, but I need to spend more time in it. It's nothing major or game breaking, just causes more hiccups than I would like. Review Source Jeannie M. The interaction with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] it's amazing, the most important thing to me!! Pros Easy for use, integrated shopping list, easy interaction with clients, good integration with others apps, integrated invoicing and quotes . Cons Sometimes the clipper doesn't work well, inability to save a image after being cut and the new tool to manually remove the background doesn't work efficiently. We need floor planner and 3D tools. No one has trouble using it. The bookmark tool is amazing and makes the sourcing for jobs so much easier. Cons Sometimes the bookmark tool takes a more than a few seconds to pop up, I would like to clip more than one image occasionally into the same bookmark clip Review Source EA EKY A. I started with Design Files at a time when the only offerings were mood boards, since then they've increased their features to include billings, financials, purchases and others. They have become a one-stop shop for designers to be able to run their businesses efficiently. I love the constant updates and the ready tech support they give. Most importantly I love that clients can work with it with ease, I've had no complainants there. I have recommended Design Files to other interior designers and will continue to do so. Pros Its so easy to use, best of all even the least tech savvy client can navigate it with dramas. Cons Difficult to use on an iPad. Some features are difficult to access because of the swipe feature of tablets. When you swipe the entire mood board moves with your swipe direction. Review Source SK Sara K. Pros How easy it was to set up and navigate. The user experience is seamless, making it easy to navigate your project from beginning to end. Cons I use Design Docs for accounting, and I've said if Design Files was able to integrate an accounting program as robust as it, this product would be gold! Alternatives considered [Mydoma Studio](https://www.capterra.com/p/155585/Mydoma-Studio/) Reason for choosing DesignFiles My Doma was also pushy and sales-y I did choose Design Docs to supplement the accounting portion of DF. The QB integration worked just ok for me. The reporting and understanding of my money flows much better in DD. Review Source MS Mary S. My reps and her team have been nothing but amazing when it comes to having a smooth transition. I was using Olioboard before DF and was devastated when I found out they were closing the site down. I was scared to make the switch and having to start all over. But DesignFiles made it so easy to start my account. Now, I find myself using all of their features and it’s definitely simplifying my business. Pros What I love most about DesignFiles is how user friendly it is. Not only is it easy to learn to use, but the fact that the team at DesignFiles is there every step of the way. Theyre there not only teach, but to keep you up to date on the new features they offer. I’m very impressed. Cons Cannot think of anything right now. Communication is always an issue when dealing with software issues. Not on DesignFiles. Pros It's so easy to clip products, create design boards, and share them with clients. DesignFiles keeps conversations organized, makes it easy to filter what information clients can see, and delivers a professional, easy-to-use shopping list. I use all these features for e-design work. For full service, I use the design board and pdf creator, with hidden shop links. So fast and easy! Cons There are a few minor functions of the design board builder that feel a bit clunky, like having to mouse over the delete icon rather than being able to hit delete on the keyboard. I can use this software while I'm in the learning curve. Cons I lost a good run of work because I accidentally closed the window when I was creating a design. I hadn't saved it because I was in the groove, which is a good thing :) I would like the software to save automatically every 2 min. I'd like to see more brands and items and more specs. Lots of items have details with a jumble of words mixed in, like it's cryptic. I can't use these. It's all about saving time. Review Source VM Val M. As I mentioned, the executive has always been super willing to help and always responds quickly. Pros I love how easy it is to use and the customer support is really good. I feel like the executive really cares about the designers and wants to do what she can to make our lives as easy as possible. Cons I don't like that my brand fonts are not available (Questrial and Centrury Gothic).
