There are a great many training videos and prior contact with software users. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] seems to be working hard on issues and updates. The Facebook group is beneficial for the beginner.

Pros

I like that the whole package for the client can be streamlined into one online platform. To have the designs and the contact between designer and client all together is great.

Cons

I would love to be able to load products into an area (such as My Library or onto the mood board page) and then be able to use all those same products as I move from mood board to 2D rendering to 3D rendering and so forth. I want to be able to create a full design package from the initial download of the products. I went and created a mood board just a few days ago and I saved the product list to look at it from the client's perspective. I had about 10 items total. When I clicked on the items to shop 3 were sold out (which is to be expected sometimes) and 3 of the links didn't go to the item on the board. It was a frustrating experience and I'm still having difficulty with the clipper as well. The whole process feels very slow right now and not time efficient.

DesignFiles kept coming up in my social media. I friend and I looked it over and felt that the overall package compared to the price was a great deal. I must confess, I signed up on a whim and am looking forward to pushing the limits of what I can do with the use of the software.

Pros

This software allows me the freedom to not only create visual examples to help further the design but also allows me the freedom to share what I want with the client, get their feedback, and change accordingly. It allows me to widely source product and services as I would normally do, then easily transfer to my existing design through DF. The budget and invoice capabilities are hugely helpful and allow me to pair back on the amount of programs needed for a single project. The customer service and guidance is outstanding!

Cons

There is not something I actually don't like. There are things that I don't necessarily use currently and there are things that I do wish it had. But so far, those items are all addressed very quickly!

all the features and simplicity, easy to use.

Cons

We are mentioning anything we see it can be improved, the team is responsive which is very helpful for us. I see that the quality of the design boards (Resolution) can be improved, including the texts. It would be better to have more flexibility in choosing the image of the product if the products has several images, and the flexibility in choosing the font of the text for the pages titles

I didn't shop, I found all what is needed for us in designfiles. We are still in the phase getting people in the company on board which is challenging. I am looking forward for the day I see it up and running. thank you for your support, I believe in it.

Love it. Anytime I have a question, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] respond so quickly: I can create beautiful boards so easily!

Pros

Value I can work on as many projects as I want for the same price., 2-D is easy to use and has so many options. Lots of font sizes Can Create invoices Can create purchase orders.

Cons

Create more comprehensive client pages. Could have contact info on client pages. Make more “client based” vs board based 3-D design is difficult to figure out. Drawing Floor plans and elevations More comprehensive financials—time tracking linked to client accounts Track items on a PO to a client Ability to send more than one project to a client.

Reason for choosing DesignFiles

Price. DF is so much less expensive than these and seems to offer almost as much as they do. Couldn’t justify paying so much more to get almost the same thing. Super happy I have stayed with DC.

Loving it so far!!!!

Pros

I love the fact that everything is in one place. It is so simple to use. Tutorials are quick, easy to understand and easy to implement. The project design options are amazing! I am really enjoying this software!

Cons

I have only been using this a few weeks and haven’t come across any major issues or annoyances yet.

The lack of budget sheets available in each project page.

Pros

I love the simplicity and ease of this program. It's very inclusive of nearly all aspects of a design.

Cons

I'd like to be able to load in some basics of past projects just so all the information can be found in one location. I also would really like to see a budget section in the project page for budget projection on each project with the ability to edit sections on the budget based on the needs of that particular project.

It's been excellent for my business so far. It's easy to use and has a lot of functionality to support gettting your business off the ground.

Pros

The ease of use was paramount. The learning tools and tutorials are excellent and have tremendously helped me while setting up my business.

Cons

Would like to see a more robust Project Management side. Ability to see to track all tasks in a project schedule.

I would rate 4 out of 5. I feel like I still cannot show a completed room design with the woodwork I do with the 3D feature and floorpans take much longer because I need to find a similar object and then completely change the size to correlate with the actual room layout.

Pros

I love how easy it is to communicate and share feedback. I love that you can adjust designs easily and showcase the full scope with floorpan and mood boards.

Cons

Wish the mood board dimensions would sync up with the floor plan with sizing of beds, desks, etc. Have a hard time using the 3D design. Wish there were more wall accent options and other paint brands/flooring

Love it! Having everything I need under one service is very convenient, saves time, and is cost efficient.

Pros

The addition of the floor plans and 3D functionality make the service offering all-inclusive and complete for what I need. No more searching for separate programs. This is a game changer and I feel it will help me grow my small design business. It’s also pretty intuitive although the video tutorials are terrific. And if you still can’t figure something out, there’s live on-line chat available most of the time.

Cons

Again now that there’s floor plans and 3D, I love it all! But I’m just getting into it so will let you know if I run into any bumps and happily provide feedback :)

My student friends from my Interior Design School have been recommending it for years. Plus my own experience trying it out was very nice. However there were limitations back then which forced me to have to supplement with other programs. Your continuous improvements however eliminated that need - thank you!!!

Pros

Ease of use in creating mood boards. The features are excellent, except there’s room for improving saving product edits in the library. When I spend the time to outline (remove background) a product on a board, the edits don’t save. I love the invoicing feature and integration with stripe and quick books. Can’t wait for clients to be able to do bank transfers.

Cons

The limitations on creating different questionnaires for each project. There’s no where to have conversations outside the design boards and especially editing a design board the comments get deleted when you delete an item off the board. That’s not as crucial, but it would be nice to move the items from different boards onto one board where you can keep the comments in case you need to refer back to them. It would be nice to have a place to make comments or ask questions about their project...maybe that’s what “notes” is used for.

Pros

I love being able to showcase my design to the client in a beautiful and professional manner. Being able to communicate with my clients via DesignFiles is super helpful. It's so efficient for the clients to be able to see the total project cost and cost of each individual item. Using DesignFiles has been a game changer for my business.

Cons

I find that products are missing from DesignFiles vendors. I always go to vendor website first to source product and then go into DesignFiles to see if product has been uploaded. I wish there was an easier way to upload client rooms and their belongings and then add products to the existing room. I haven't figured out how to do this in a way that looks professional and pleasing to the eye.

We haven't merged with Quickbooks yet, but are looking into it. Would like to be able to bill and track everything on one platform. Right now we use 3. UGH

Cons

It is glitchy when creating boards and uploading things. Sometimes the vendor option freezes and I can't scroll or I lose the whole page .

Pros

I like that my clients can easily communicate with me about the project using the "accept" and "decline" button and by leaving messages. I also like that I can link quotes and invoices. Love the time tracker. I like the questionnaire.

Cons

1\. The background removal software is the worst I've ever seen! I'm still having to use PicMonkey to properly delete backgrounds and then import that image into Design Files. 2. Certain (very simple) editing tools are not available. For example, creating a mirror image of an item is not an option. 3. The floor planning software is lacking in some really basic home elements like sliding doors and basic kitchen cabinets. Insert forehead slap here! 4. When you enter the price of an item in the library, if you are not very careful, it's easy to accidentally change the price of the item by scrolling on your mousepad instead of immediately clicking out of the box. That's the best way I can describe it. It's happened to me several times now.

### "Better than Olioboard but still needs improvment"

It solves my problem of creating beautiful design boards but takes me a lot longer since I'm Canadian as I have to manually add all my pieces because the catalog is pretty useless to me.

Pros

It allows me to create beautiful design boards for clients and has all the products in the design for the client to easily buy and budget

Cons

It only has US sites incorporated so I have to be careful as a Canadian designer to bring in all products available in Canada. I've run into times where I added something from the catalog in design files only for the client to come back to me and say the shipping was more than the product itself because it was in US dollars. Also you still can't pivot the furniture to get different views so planning a room in the orientation it will be in real life is difficult

I enjoy using the software and i think the room renders help convey ideas to clients in a way that doesn't take up too much time, therefore there isn't abortive work if you need to undertake multiple renders of a room.

Pros

DesignFiles is easy to use and makes client presentations look professional. it also keeps all your research in one area, making it quick and easy to access websites and place orders as required.

Cons

doing room renders is difficult with wallpaper as the wallpaper gets stretched out of shape. however I have previously been helped by one of the technical team to overcome this challenge.

Pros

I love the Client Portal capability to keep client communication in one place.

Cons

I feel that the floorplan appearance is rudimentary, and the program does not seem capable of importing a designer's product library into the 3D views.

Pros

Cons

Would love for the grabber to work on all websites, like Houzz and Wayfair. Would love for more partner sites, companies to be included in the Brand bank. Pottery Barn, Lulu & Georgia, Serena & Lily, etc.

Pros

The tool kit made available by Design Files is so easy to maneuver. I found the teaching videos extremely helpful and user friendly-particularly for someone who is NOT as tech savvy. The browser clipper is the BEST, allowing our team to use exact images and views of pieces being used in the project. The managing tools are also easy to use. They help to make the quotes, questionnaires and presentations personal and professional. What I like most about Design Files is the personal service we receive from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] and her team. She is approachable, patient and always available to assist.

Cons

What our team misses the most is a floor planning tool to integrate with the system - which we are told is coming soon ! There are also a few hangups for teams that work out of multiple locations, particularly when utilizing the team made quote system. We need to list all locations as opposed to being able to personalize to one.

We found the tools, training and integration to be the best fit to our needs. Plus, the customer service is above and beyond our expectation.

Love Design Files so far. I feel that some of the features still need some work but love that feedback is taken regularly and implemented quite fast.

Pros

The ease of integrating with quickbooks is great, love how fast customer service is as well as implementation of new feature requests.

Cons

When using the clipper It does not cache the data in the form so if I change pages with the clipper open I lose as of the product data entered. I would love to see the PO payments integrated into Quickbooks. The tracker page constantly has issues when scrolling.

It was pretty easy to get started and the training videos are awesome.

Pros

You can't beat how easy it is to lay-out a mood board. Having the ability to size, move, and place an item in front or behind other items is great. I also love how it puts the shopping link right into a .pdf or other format so my clients can shop right from the report I generated. The running total at the top allows you to see if you're staying on budget for the client. Can't live without it!

Cons

I wish you could create specific boards and save items to them. I wish you didn't have to "shop" an item to add it to your board. I wish there were accessories you could use for a "staging" effect and I didn't have to go screenshot them and then import them. Also, would love some design details like brick walls or wallpapers. I am a home improvement contractor so I would also LOVE to be able to have basic cabinets like shakers. And that I could change the colors with the paint function already available in the app. I know that's a lot but in a perfect world, those are the things I wish it had.

I sometimes go months without using this software...based on either the type of project I’m doing or just lack of business. I created design board and budgets/quotes mostly. I had a really long break from it for a while and was very happy to see the invoicing and the ability to accept payments additions when I started using it again in December. I haven’t set that up yet but I will. I also like that I can suspend my account indefinitely when I’m not working, then when I reopen it, all my previous work is still there.

Pros

Ease of use, the ability to communicate with clients right in the software and they see what I want them to see; ability to provide quotes and do invoicing.

Cons

Can’t think of anything at the moment I’ve used this since it was olioboard and participated in lots of feedback and tutorial sessions when the transition was made to design files and I love what you’ve done for those of us with really small businesses with this tool.
