### "Crazy Addictive Software!"

Absolutely addicted to this product. I wake up in the morning anxious to jump on to create a new mood board to showcase to the world. I feel like Picasso, always wanting to create a new piece of art! As a creative person, this software brings the pieces I envision for a space to life! The product selection is incredible, but I love the fact that I can put my own spin on the design boards by adding my personal unique choices for potential clients. A large percentage of the population is visual, so when they SEE the boards and floor plans, they want to PURCHASE and the relationship blooms due to trust.

Pros

After watching the tutorial videos for DesignFiles, I jumped right in to experiment. The features work just as described, and within three hours, I had created a design board for one client, purchased products for another, and completed a billing for a third client!

Cons

Like any software, there is a learning curve, but it is so easy to navigate when support specialists are standing by to walk you through any hiccup you experience.

Cons

The Add to Designfile feature is great, however, recommend to simplify steps as it is not readily apparent when getting ramped up.

Overall, I am happy with the program. However, If another program came available​ that would offer me these options (for the same price)I would most likely switch to another program that offered more customization.

Pros

Design files allow​ me to be able to streamline my design work and communicate/collaborate with clients virtually. This has helped my business immensely​. I do have a few things that I dislike/ wish that Design Files could offer so I recently looked into switching to another program. However, after researching other programs out there I felt that Design Files was the most​ affordable, simple to use and is currently the best program out there​ for virtual design.

Cons

I wish that you could customize things more, for example, the questionnaire, emails, the look for the site etc. my primary dislikes are that you can't provide coupon codes, that the chat doesn't​ carry over throughout the design and that you can't create a standard title block within the program.

Cons

### "Designer Vs. Decorator"

So far good, and hoping for more integrations.....

Pros

Love the client portal, the integrated boards and space planing features. The concept is wonderful however needs improvements and additions.

Cons

The program as it is today seems to be based for decorators and not designers. I say this for multiple reasons. The companies that are available to add products and integrate into the mood boards are not Trade only accounts. There are few higher end products to choose from nor are there actual products that are used in construction/finishes (Plumbing, hardware, appliances) Kitchen and Bath is basically an industry itself and there are no brands or features in this category. The accounting features are extremely lacking- partial payments for example, deposits, budgets by room or category for example allowances are used for building (plumbing, lighting, hardware, wood flooring, tile etc.) not just by room.

Wanted to try something new that seemed easy to switch and train a growing team.

Pros

I love to create design boards on this software. You can pull in photos from store websites directly to your files.

Cons

The only thing I do not like... is that you cannot draw a "to scale' (1/4" = 1 ft.) floor plans, as the industry standard requires. I have to use a different software to do my drawings. I wish I could do it all in Design Files

Easy to use.

Pros

The organizing part is amazing. You have 100% control of what client paid, answered and signed. The mood boards are easy to share.

Cons

The questionnaire is a bit non flexible when it comes to whiting free text with your questions. Also, it would be nice to be able to print the questionnaire with the client's answers for follow ups and discovery calls.

Much quicker to do presentations. I really enjoy the program.

Pros

I loved how easy the design boards were to use and the interactive product approve/reject communicatin is with clients. The programme is easy to use, good value and the support is brilliant. The team seems keen to add new features suggested by designers and improve usability.

Cons

The product search tool is quite basic. Other sofware seem to do this much better and to a more advanced level. Printing/ exporting the product lists doesn't seem to have very good formatting and there's a lot of white space in the presentation. I feel like the layout can be a little neater and more professional looking. The Design Boards do not export / save as pdfs very well. the resolution is very low. I feel this can be an easy fix. I am based in the UK and there aren't any UK based products or paints. I believe Design Files willbe adding some features to rectify this.

I tested a few competitors and DesignFiles seemed to win for me. Fuigo and Studio Designer didn't do a trial. I watched some videos but it was unclear how they work. Fohlio seemed great and My Doma Studio but I prefered the way Design Files did the boards and 3D designer.

Pros

I love that I can easily send a design (with many useful options on what client can see). I love that I can invoice and they can pay immediately. I love the page clipper, life saver!

Cons

The only things I’m missing are on the financials side. A “credit” for invoices when client pays ahead with deposits. I would love a to do list or a page to make notes so that when I do the initial consultation I can take my iPad with me to take notes in the software and keep everything together. Right now I’m doing a word document with letter head etc and sending it via email then once I get the job moving over to DF. I’d love to start the first impression with DF! I’d love to make my contracts in DF and Scope lists that I can “mark off” as I’ve purchased.

I've been very happy with the program and the customer support.

Pros

I love Design Files for organizing and communicating our designs to our clients. It's a great place to keep track of design ideas as well as correspondence with the client about the design selections.

Cons

There are some features that need to be updated to help with ease of use but they are constantly improving the platform.

I'm using the design boards feature as well as the floor plan/3 D feature. As I mentioned above, I find the floor plan CAD feature difficult to work with, but I'm continuing to use it as I do not have an alternative available.

Pros

The design boards aspect is helpful when working remotely with clients. The CAD drawings (while laborious) are useful to show to clients. Customer service is good; they have responded quickly to my questions.

Cons

The CAD aspects of this program are unwieldy. Creating a floor plan takes 3 times longer than one I could draw by hand, but the advantage of the CAD plans are that I can flip them into 3 D. Have zero interest in the accounting aspects of this program. I have used Quickbooks for years and am happy with that program.

### "Personal Experience with DesignFiles"

DesignFiles has served an immediate need to create floor plans with 2D and 3D visuals together with Moodboards. I have not begun to use QB capabilities because I am currently running a desktop version of QB. There have been a few times when questions were not responded to from Chatbot. With that said, most questions have been resolved thru help and video screens.

Pros

DesignFiles serves my need to present basic ideas to my clients through Moodboards and the use of floor plans, 2D & 3D visuals. I particularly like "My Library" with the ability to add products easily. It would be nice to have more library options in the standard library and more realistic renderings.

Cons

Not enough library options in the standard library and the renderings aren't as realistic as I would like to see.

Reason for choosing DesignFiles

Wecora doesn't give the ability to create floor plans and Moodboards. Wecora was a good starting point for presenting specific items to clients and also showing profit/loss for the items selected. Coohom has great renderings but will not speak to the user. The only option to resolve questions is via YouTube or Chatbot. Speaking with a support person is a must for me.

Overall DesignFiles has condensed my process freeing my time to focus more closely on my clients and their projects and less on administrative tasks.

Pros

Before subscribing to DesignFiles, I was using 4 different products to complete project management tasks. A fellow designer suggested that DesignFiles would allow me to incorporate all tasks using one tool so I decided to try it out. I found what she said to be true and I was able to unsubscribe from 4 services and accomplish all that I need while exclusively using Design Files.

Cons

What I like least is the floor plan tool. It's a little rigid and limited.

Excellent.... customer service is phenomenal! And your desire to create and improve the program to make our life as designers easier is sooo appreciated!!

Pros

The ability to have a professional front with clients when quoting and invoicing and contracts. Easy payment methods. The product snipping tool is a game changer.... it used to take me forever to type all this info up ....can’t wait to use it to create schedules!

Cons

Not being able to download and print the questionnaire into a professional format where I can go through it a with client in person if need be.... or print out and refer to it when designing. More graphic design features on the boards would be nice - having a standard line tool that can change in thickness , and shape tools( like a square that you can stretch out to create a block of colour and write text over it). Credit card - can’t pass on the cost to client in Australia, ACH method not available for Australia, no Australian product libraries ....:( so demanding aren’t we!! :) Oh... being able to bring an image onto the board without it having to be a product..:)

### "I has changed my work life!"

I can share my presentations with my customers anytime and I can see when the have logged in. This is perfect because I can follow up with them knowing if they have seen the presentation or not. I used to use Olioboard and you guys really did a great improvement.

Pros

I love that I can built my own library, it has taken me a while because I like to clean all my pictures before I upload them, but it is totally worth it!

Cons

The cutting tool is not too functional, it could be better, maybe in at totally different window, just larger. I use Photoshop to clean my pictures, so I think I am a little picky also.

Love it! I just started using the paid version, and it's a game-changer. I've been using DesignFiles to create concept boards for years, but the paid version is so worth the money.

Pros

I love that DesignFiles is always improving its tools and adding to ease of use.

Cons

I think it's geared a little more towards the online designer. I'd love to have some more features for in-person presentations and suggestions on how to utilize and present with a client.

Pros

Easy to use and interface with clients, responsive customer service and product development, professional presentations, an integral part to running my business smoothly!

Cons

Doesn't have a time billing tracker and integrated invoice generator, but they are working on it as we speak. Financial interface is limited, so must use a separate accounting program to track and record for taxes a general financials.

I needed and love the mood board, 2-D and 3-D capabilities. Clients are impressed! Also, the focus on virtual design is a perfect addition to my business and very timely.

It has been extremely user friendly. The videos are amazing, they helped me get started, easy to follow and not too long. Love how I can submit to client and communicate seamlessly back and forth.

Pros

I love how I can use the clipper and take an product and put it into my design, all of the information is captured and then the project total is calculated! This takes a hug portion of work off my plate to allow me to use my time to take on more jobs.

Cons

The 3d project tool does not allow for my clipped products to be placed which greatly limited my presentations. I can only use what is in your database and it almost makes the tool useless bc my clients want to see their furniture in the room.

I just started using this a month ago but I am using it everyday to track clients and manage my business. So far so great!

Pros

The most intuitive program I have used for my design business and the chat feature if I have a question is amazing!

Cons

The calendar feature could be improved some as well as I would like to see some options for integrating this to my phone- an iphone. Would like to see the option to have apptointments (that I choose) synced to my phone with customer information , name, address and phone.

Over all it is a useful too. It has a bit of a learning curve to it.

Pros

I like the face oof being able to bring multiple products for a room together for a client to view. It helps them get a true idea of what the space will be.

Cons

It would be nice if the all of the standard stock pieces of the company was already loaded into the software. I do not like that you cant erase something that was loaded incorrectly or to the wrong place. There should be more options for empty rooms. I have problems where sometimes the program will freeze once to many things are added to a board.

Overall there are enoug functions for us to create and manage clients. We have a “short” list of functionality we would love, but the service and ease of use for new for new designers is great. Thanks to the executive. + Team

Pros

The clickable shopping list and uploading of products. We also love the comment options within the project for designer/client exchange.

Cons

Receiving a notification for every comment is killing our inboxes. Would love an option on how to receive notifications. Once a Day. Once an hour, or something that would bundle them per project if made with in a certain amount of time. For both client and designer. Or make some sort of instant message option, so it more like texting within the platform and you just get a PING sound when a designer/client makes a comment. Also we really need categories for the Library. Take so much time searching our librbary. Loved Olio Boards category setup.

Since I have been using the program, it improves almost daily. The principles and all of the staff are courteous, attentive and always willing to help.

Pros

The ease of use. The attentive customer service is second to none. They are ALWAYS asking the users what they would like to see implemented and then actually do it. Improvements and additions are made almost daily.

Cons

How the moodboard side of the program cannot be integrated with the 3D version of the program. This would be a game changer.

Reason for choosing DesignFiles

The customer service is impeccable and are always there to help. Edesign tribe didn't seem as easy to use and you needed to also purchase Photoshop.

Pros

DesignFiles is exactly what I was looking for in an online interior design/decorating platform. It's fairly intuitive to get started with and the tutorials are amazing for getting the most out of the product. It offers extremely robust features such as 3D options, floor plan drawing, mood boards, invoicing and client interaction.

Cons

Interacting with DesignFiles clients can be somewhat cumbersome getting them onboard with the process.

Cons

I do wish the navigation for things was easier such ass accessing all my invoices. I am still starting out so it may come to me quickly.
