Pros

Easy to use and train new members of our team - love that they take suggestions for adding tools that site is missing!

Cons

Hoping to see if they will add to the Vendors the ability to create “defaults for markups” “per each VENDOR” so we don’t have to change markup each time or remember each vendor discount … it’s a bit general in this category and coming from Design Manager we could add marker amounts to “each Vendor markup as a defaults for each vendor etc …

Reason for choosing DesignFiles

We liked that they are adding features we suggest — Hoping to see if they will add Vendor Defaults for markups so we don’t have to change markup each time…

Positive from the outset. If you do not use CAD this is a great tool for any design business.

Pros

The ability to create a room set simply with cut out features, sizing options etc. Work can be ordered into client projects, stored for later reference. Pricing, shop it features...long list. This has revolutionised my small design business. I have yet to use all of the available features!

Cons

No floor plan drawing option although can import but would rather have the facility The cutting out could still be improved No cropping feature on paint colours, simply sizing up or down. Not enough. More room sets please, possibly some UK home sets? I would like a folder option to file finished work...by client

Pros

Love this Design Software for Mood Boards /Projects Love the web clipper It has helped speed up efficiency with clipping products, and being able to place them quickly in the project board.

Cons

I wish there was an easier way to view items in my projects with price and then be able to track them more smoothly. I buy and design for my own company and don't always need POs or Quotes but wish there was a uniform way to keep track of products, pricing and tracking.

Pros

Ease of usability. I am not tech savvy at all but the DesignFiles software made it so that I was able confidently launch a design business. Without this software I'm not certain I would have this opportunity. I've looked at other companies and they do not offer what this company does.

Cons

I'm still getting used to it so I can't say much here. The only thing I can submit would be the "distort perspective" feature. If the user could "distort" not only at the end points but also clip from the middle line would be incredibly handy. Not sure it's possible though.

I am truly thankful for this program and stumbling upon it! Customer services has always been so helpful and they are always taking feedback and updating!

Pros

I love that everything is here! It is a one stop shop and my clients love it and find it easy to work with! It has gave me so much confidence to jump back into my design business!

Cons

Though they have made many updates with their Floor planner and 3D software, of course coming from CAD and Revit, I miss the ability to customize a bit more in detail.

Adding more services like creating mood boards, shopping for clients, just being that go-to expert in my area is a great feeling

Pros

The ease of creating mood boards based on all of your video tutorials was a game changer for my business. Running a full time vacant staging company requires a lot of my time and having DesignFiles show me in the simplest form how I can create designer looking boards for my clients made me very happy. Thank you for all that you do for the design community 🤗

Cons

So far everything has been awesome, thank you!

For the simplicity of it and an easy learning curve. I don’t have time to learn a new program and you took away most of my angst of not falling behind while the rest of the design world continually moves forward with technology

Very easy to use and everything is right in front of you without having to go back and forth. Customer-friendly, affordable and a time-saver

Cons

I would like to see coupon codes being able to be used by clients, especially first-time clients.

It was horrible to navigate and not client friendly. It didn't make the design process enjoyable for neither my client or myself. It was very time consuming as well with loading products and having to constantly toggle back and forth between screens.

so far so good, the response by the administrators for help has been great so far! Have only used for about a week and 1/2 so far.

Pros

Really like that you can connect with Quickbooks and initiate an invoice for client and immediately load up a purchase order for each vendor. Like the mood board and anxious to start the 3D modeling!

Cons

I think we are going to have to use the 2D modeling as a basic idea generation as I cannot get all the actual furniture items I am planning to use at the right angles, and use the Mood board for the actual pieces to purchase for the clients.

Pros

Design Files is always evolving and the training videos are fantastic. It is a great program to work with and I love how easy it is to share designs with clients, communicate with them, and get paid all on one platform.

Cons

It would be great to have a time-tracking feature in order to keep track of time spent on each project. It would also be nice to have a feature that tracks orders and deliveries of purchased product.

Intro Cost, fairly easy to use for designers who don't have access to drawing software to create boards on.

Cons

The backgrounds for 2D designs aren't that great. Also not being able to clip from Houzz is very frustrating.

DesignFiles has given me the opportunity to work on some decorating projects that I wouldn’t have been able to complete without it. It’s really inspired me to work on new decorating goals and try to grow my business.

Pros

I think the thing I love the most is having the DesignFiles Browser Clipper. Although I really like the vendors on this site it’s so helpful to have the flexibility to clip products from outside sources. The download presentation with shoppable links is incredibly professional...LOVE it (and my clients love it too!) Also love being able to organize all of my projects in one place...it’s really like having my own virtual office space.

Cons

I truly wish there was a way to place products in a room without having to search for something that has just the right angle so you can get the design perspective right. It really wastes a lot of time searching. It’s especiallu frustrating when you find something that’s perfect for a design but because you can’t adjust it and change the shape to fit the space you’re working on you have to find something else. This is ALWAYS a problem with rugs. I’ve gotten so frustrated that I rarely use them in 3D room designs.

Pros

Relative ease in learning how to produce impactful visuals.

Although I haven't yet spent much time using Design Files to "design a room", I'm hoping I will be able to eliminate the need for other "design a room" apps which I believe it will I just need to spend a little more time learning how to use this feature.

Pros

I love that I can track finances, design a room and load product all in one place. I don't consider myself to be "tech savvy" but it was easy to learn. Integration into my existing business was easy.

Cons

I would love to see a 'receipt' option added.

Pros

I love how I can communicate with my client and how there's a tear sheet of all of the pricing. The building of mood/design boards is very easy. You are the designer...you are in control. Good price point for starters.

Cons

I wish the board in which you can create your designs was a tad bigger. I wish they had like windows and doors components, and a way to build color stories easier. Other than that, I love it.

I love this tool and use it with most of my clients. I think my clients like the simple links and like to interact directly on the boards. It helps me so much as an independent designer as I cannot afford much but I need to have professional presentations.

Pros

I love that this software helps organize my projects in a professional easy to use way.

Cons

I believe there may be a few issues (or maybe I haven't figured it out) on organizing the products. I often want to delete some of my items since I collect items first then play with the ideas. My lists get long and cumbersome. Also I wish there were a way to not trigger emails with every comment made on the boards.

I have loved it. I need to explore all the features. So far I have mostly used the 2d renderings and mood board functions. I work within a larger interior design firm, and all sales go through the company, but I'm considering starting an e-design side hustle, and I know the other functions of the program would come in handy if I do that.

Pros

I love the browser clipper and use it constantly to source products for my clients and present them on a design board. I also like that you can replace the shop it button with an approve/reject button.

Cons

Well, I was going to say 3d renderings are missing, but they're apparently coming, and I'm thrilled.

DesignFiles has allowed me to stay organized and also it has helped me to put design concepts together quickly so that I can show a client what I am envisioning.

Pros

This is a great tool to use for design concepts and mood boards. It has allowed me to show my clients what a proposed room design will look like. I also like that it keeps a total of everything that I have sourced so that I can be sure to stay in the client's budget.

Cons

It would be nice if there was an app so that I could access my designs on go. If there is a feature like this, let me know!

I have tried both HouzzPro and My Doma studio and Design Files is by far my favorite or the ease of use on my end and the client side.

Pros

The shop links are easy to use for my clients. The mood boards are simple to make. It is easy to select what I want a client to see/not see.

Cons

I would like kitchen cabinets and appliances in the 3D room planner.

The support team is awesome & I love how they are constantly making improvements to the software.

Pros

I am so impressed with this software; you get so much for your money, which is amazing and allows for better profit! I think one of the aspects I like the most is the browser clipper. It makes it SO easy to find and save the products you want. I also love that all of the documents I send to my clients are branded with my company design. Lastly, the integration of invoicing is so simple and fantastic; I don't have to create my own estimate and invoice through another software or word doc, etc.

Cons

Some of the small issues I have found along the way have been corrected/updated. The only item I can think of that is a bit confusing/problematic, would be how comments are delivered via email. For instance, if I leave six comments on six different items on a client's design board, I will receive separate emails back of each comment the client left. I will see what they wrote, however I won't see the image of the item they responded to. It would be nice to see the images along with the comments and to possibly have just one email with all of the comments connected to the correct image (instead of having six different emails with six different comments).

I am fairly new to Designfiles however I am loving it and can’t wait to put together my pricing & packages and 100% launch my business.

Pros

I LOVE how everything is in one place, one program to manage your projects from start to finish.

Cons

The 3D renderings is limited to only suggested products therefore I am unable to create a rendering of exact products my customers would want. It would be amazing if my library was available in this section, plus there are no TV’s in the rendering product list.
