Pros Customer Support, tutorials, faq's were so helpful to make the transition very easy and understandable. Mood boards are awesome, as is the clipper to add products and pricing to the documents. Cons An overall notes/to do list to add and tag tasks. Proposed budget vs actual for record keeping would be wonderful. More/easier email collaboration between my team and the clients. However, I know that the Design Files team is CONSTANTLY doing updates so I'm sure any of these ideas that would benefit many will be in the works. So far, A+! Pros As wedding and event designers, there really isn't a program out there specifically for us in regards to creating stunning, customizable design boards for our clients. DesignFiles provides all of the easy-to-use tools and resources we desperately needed to make a program our own. Telling a story through a visual component, like a design board, is crucial to obtain and build on a client's trust - in our case, for the biggest day of their lives oftentimes. With DesignFiles, we are able to tangibly "recipe" our centerpieces (for example) by building them bloom-by-bloom and/or with hard goods accessories. This is a break-through for event design technology, and one we could not be more excited about! Cons The only issue we've run into is sometimes having the program be a little slow to catch up. For instance, if we click and drag an object with our mouse, sometimes the object may not follow, or may take a while. Other than that, it is flawless. Review Source MC Melissa C. Its an amazing product and platform that allows us to deliver professional looking 2D/3D design plans to our customers. Cons As the features expand it would be nice to see the ability to bring in a shot of a room and edit out existing furnishings to create a whole new look, I don't believe they are there yet. " April 27, 2021 5.0 Pros It is a all in one software to manage projects, user friendly and love that they are constantly looking for ways to improve and introduce new features. Cons When invoicing, I can not invoice materials on a per sqft basis, only quantity. Also, my logo on the top of the reports shows up very small. Reason for choosing DesignFiles It was recommended by the IDI while I was a student and I continued using it because I liked the functionality and enhancements always being introduced. Pros I love the product clipper and the ease of creating mood boards. I love that all the details of each product I use are saved in my library but I can also save them for a specific project. Cons I would like to toggle back and forth between client view and my view. I would also like to be able to edit my design questionnaire. April 7, 2020 5.0 Overall, I love this program. I love the customer service and I know the other things I mentioned are in the works. Once these things get on board there will be nothing like DF! Pros I love how I can give my clients a visual for their space. It is very easy to use. Cons Floorplan is a basic need. So I wish the floorplan was up and running, even if it wasn't 3 or 4D. I use another program and bring it into DF. If I have to make changes, back to the other program I go and so forth. When I edit the background out of a product I wish it would stay edited. This is a major time consumer. Especially if I am doing different views of the same room. Reason for choosing DesignFiles same answer as above. The invoicing system and mood boards are my favorite and knowing that I have almost instant access to a live person for support is a game changer. So, thank you! Pros The customer support is amazing, the software is so user friendly and the video tutorials are great! Cons Unfortunately I do prefer the floorplan of another program but I love everything else about DF. January 11, 2019 5.0 This is a very professional communication tool for the local clients I serve face-to-face. I am starting to offer more remote design consulting services (e-design) to clients farther away from my practice and this tool will be the primary communication vehicle. Pros I can collect inspirational images and product info and store it all in one private place. It's almost as easy as pinterest but allows me the professional privacy my clients and I prefer. Cons I generally use Chrome as my browser and I have not been able to use the " add to design files" capture button on Chrome. With excellent support and troubleshooting provided by the DF team, I found a work-around in Safari that works for me now. There are always technological improvements and I look forward to this tool becoming easier and easier for me to integrate into my daily routine. Review Source AV Astrid V. Winning time is definitely a win for me. My clients are also very impressed with how easy it is to communicate through the software and to just click and buy the products from their design. Pros I love the fact that I can create a moodboard and a lay out in the same tool. I love that a shopping list is created directly. I love that the budget appears and that I can easily communicate with my client. Cons I miss a tool to completely personalise the look and content of my questionnaire. I miss typographies to personalise the look of my designs. I miss freedom to color in or adapt the look of my lay out plans. I really like that I can have people buy directly through my boards. I'm looking to put them on instagram and avoid side door. It’s also a lovely platform for quickly creating visuals for clients. It’s been mostly beneficial to our business and we hope it continues to improve with us as it currently does. Pros Very easy to use, and both designer and client friendly. Lots of neat built-in features to get your business going straightaway. Cons The simplicity aspect is great in getting started, but the software seem to hit a road block in letting you fully brand and personalise your account to your business i.e. being unable to create a custom url for what your clients see. But the team are so helpful and open to feedback and you find the program gets better every time, even in the few months we’ve been using it. Review Source Kim R. I love the clients questionnaire page, and ability to write notes on each item that I pick for them. It’s a wonderful platform for communicating well with clients, so I can achieve a final design tailored to my clients needs and taste Pros I like DesignFiles because it is simple to use, very efficient to show clients the color scheme and design layout of a room with 2D and 3D options, and my clients love the fact they can shop products that I recommend. Cons I wish we had more options with rotating the items so I can place them in different ways. Also, we need a feature to be able to erase / change attached images on the project details page. Pros I love the overall finished high-quality look of this product and the general ease of using it. There are a lot of products in the vendor library to choose from as well, and you can upload your own from google and other vendors. I also like the pricing, invoicing, and client questionnaire that are included for designers' use. Cons The downside is the time it takes to "manually cut out" using many "click" points around products that are on too-light backgrounds or have other items in their backgrounds. Also, learning how to use the distort tool for rugs, furniture, curtain rods, etc. that are pictured at a different angle than what you need for your renderings can be a bit time-consuming and tricky.
