### "Best software for rescues"

We've gone paperless thanks to ShelterLuv, and because it's easy to use, we've been able to get many of our volunteers to help with database entry because of it!

Pros

We previously used PetPoint and it was painful. ShelterLuv was not only easy for volunteers to learn how to use, but most importantly to us as a rescue that is growing in size, SL was there every step of the way to answer our questions. They also didn't pressure us to purchase the product which helped us be comfortable making the switch when we did. It also makes it easy for our adopters to fill out applications at adoption events. We've gone paperless thanks to ShelterLuv.

Cons

Our only complaint is that while it's easy to use on an iPad etc, there isn't an app so it's hard to use on the phone.

### "ShelterLuv System"

Overall we LOVE ShelterLuv. Our efficiency has increased tremendously, and we haven't even gotten to use the full scope of the system yet.

Pros

I love the flow of the system. Just a few clicks to process an animal from Intake to Outcome. The tracking capabilities on how to look up previous adopters, the ability to leave internal notes on person records and animal records. I love that they are constantly improving and send updates weekly. Any time I've emailed for help, the responses are quick and informative/helpful. We love it so much so far!

Cons

There are a few things: Diagnostic tests/Results do not show up on the medical records. There isn't a great way to print what "tasks" are due, and we do not especially care that the adopters can see the animals medical records before we send them the completed version after adoption is complete. That said - anything we have approached ShelterLuv with they are already working on "fixing" and are adding us to the list of everything we have suggested to let us know when that update has been completed. They are very receptive to changes/suggestions!

### "Luv for Shelterluv"

We love Shelterluv and recommend it often.

Pros

There are many things I love about this software. The ease of use, mobile checkout, batch vaccine entry, and much more. I love that when we have a concern or a request, the team is very responsive. This wonder software is constantly progressing to the ever-changing needs of our life-saving world.

Cons

Like with all software, there are little things. When we find those things, we send an email and make our feedback known. One thing I would love to see added is a volunteer module. We are trying so hard to grow our volunteer program, and it would be wonderful to have the ability to do that with Shelterluv. One database for all shelter tasks. It might also be wonderful to incorporate comprehensive fundraising options into the software.

### "Easy and Reliable Database!"

Pros

You know what I like the best about SL? Besides the fact that it's fairly easy to learn and is "customizable" to one's specific needs, if one does need help, it's so easy! Write a quick email and a response is almost immediate.

Cons

I have two "cons". First off, it would be much quicker if I didn't have to unclick the radio buttons when searching for an animal/person. It should be the default to have "cleared" radio buttons. Secondly, I wish databases could integrate into each other (I realized this is not necessarily Shelter Luvs fault) so that converting to a new database could be seamless. Overall, as a volunteer who enters info for two large rescue organizations, SL is awesome.

### "We love ShelterLuv!"

Keeping up with our animals' medical records is super easy and we like the option of having staff members able to update the tasks they've completed--example: Our lead tech can enter medications that need to be administered daily to animals in our care and our kennel techs can check off those tasks as they are taken care of.

Pros

We love how easy the program is to use and how easily and quickly our staff was able to learn to use the system. We love how professional the medical print-outs and other documents are and that we can easily email documents to our adopters and transfer partners.

Cons

Really the only con we found was that the system wasn't able to import all our photos over from our previous system. We found a way to work around that, but it would have been nice to have that capability.

Reason for choosing Shelterluv

We heard good things from other shelters and rescue groups and only looked into ShelterLuv. We are in a Facebook group of shelter staff from all over the US and found generally good reports from most about ShelterLuv.

### "Changing the Way Shelter Software Works"

Overall I feel that ShelterLuv is a better option than anything on the market right now. The report feature makes up for some of the areas that required improvement.

Pros

The ease of use and report management. It was so simple to see the who/where/when of all the dogs in the building. Being able to upload a photo makes it even easier to distinguish different animals. It is very customizable.

Cons

From time to time it can be slow or links "break"

Great! It really helps us run our business and I'm thrilled with the capabilities.

Pros

I love how we can upload multiple photos of the animals and integrate the published content with our website. It really helps manage adoptions and promote animals easily with one or two clicks.

Cons

Sometimes it can take a while for Shelterluv updates to appear on our website. if it were faster, interested adopters could see it sooner and we could save more lives more efficiently.

The customer service team is always there to answer and questions or help with any issues - they listen to what the customers want and need to succeed and that's very important.

Pros

I love the ability to run reports and the customer service is great!

Cons

The animal control portion of this protect could use some upgrading. Our biggest struggle is impounding court cases, bite quarantines and when an animal is surrendered in the field vs coming to the shelter to surrender.

Cons

In the past it had a tendency to be down more often than I would like, but it seems like those issues have been fixed lately.

### "We Luv Shelterluv!"

The amount of time our staff saves on a daily basis by using Shelterluv is incredible. We have become more efficient all around. And the built in donation ask during adoptions has resulted in a huge amount of donations that we otherwise would not have recieved.

Pros

Shelterluv is extremely intuitive and was obviously designed by people who know how animal sheltering works. The reporting features and ability to customize just about all aspects of the software are amazing. We are still finding new features and functions and when we ask "I wonder if it can...?" the answer is almost always "yes". The customer support is excellent with remarkable response time to inquiries.

Cons

If would be nice to be able to enter vaccines, treatments, etc in the future when we know they are going to happen, but I understand why this isn't allowed in order to keep data accurate.

Reason for choosing Shelterluv

Shelterluv was the easiest to use and had the greatest number of useful features for our organization. We definitely made the right choice!

### "The best software for shelters & rescues"

All of our records are now in one software.

Pros

What's not to like? Our transition to Shelterluv was fantastic. Importing our records and configuring our data was as easy as ever. The detailed demo video was very helpful - it did not take us long at all to learn the ropes. The Shelterluv team (very friendly + helpful) is available every step of the way. The software is cost effective for animal welfare organizations, small and large.

Cons

There are only two issues our team has run into. The first issue being; when manually entering old medical records - there is no "complete all" option for past due treatments. So, you need to go through and manually complete each treatment - it is time consuming to enter treatment records for animals that were on medications multiple times a day for several months. The second issue being; there is no option to edit the Donation Boost in the checkout flow. The $50 tier lists "vaccinate a litter of puppies" and we are a cat-only rescue - which can bring questions from adopters/donors about our organization.

### "Game Changer"

In short, I’m obsessed. It supports our vision of what modern day rescue can look like. No paper, accurate records, easily trainable to volunteers AND generates more revenue than we’ve paid out for its service! That last statement should be enough for anyone to use it!! We made more in donations, during adoptions, than we paid out to use this software!!

Pros

ShelterLuv has allowed us to management several types of animals with absolute ease! Whether that’s at the shelter, in foster care, owner surrenders or transfers, ShelterLuv has thought of everything and continues to evolve!

Cons

I would only enjoy the software more, if more of our partners used it! The ease of transferring an animal is seamless!

The customer service, the knowledge center, the training videos, and the ease of use. My list of why to choose ShelterLuv is a mile long!

### "Save Money!"

Exceptional! I’m just tickled pink about this program. If I have an issue I receive PROMPT responses. When I process an adoption I know the information is getting through, because it checks emails on the spot.

Pros

I have used other programs, like Petstablished, that push their products, charge based on how many upload you do, and aren’t anywhere near as detailed about medical care. This program has exceptional service, the most customizable systems, and is just plain easy.

Cons

I wish it did run concurrently with PayPal and Venmo

Pros

Shelterluv is great in having a comprehensive place to find historical information on all the animals that are or have been in our shelter. I appreciate being able to find medical history, medical notes, scanned documents associated with each animal, a photo, etc. The website is fairly easy to navigate and preview animal information.

Cons

The look of Shelterluv could be updated to a more modern website aesthetic. It sometimes takes awhile to load any information. Although the issue is currently fixed, there was a stretch of a couple of weeks where if I searched for an animal in the search box, the results showed up in a jumbled website where anything I clicked led to an "error" page. Though I did not absolutely need this function to work properly for my specific job, I can imagine it would have been extremely frustrating for someone working more in an intake role to run into that issue while they were taking in a previously adopted out animal, etc.

Pros

Shelterluv has made our record keeping and reporting immeasurably better since we switched in May of 2019. It's extremely user friendly and intuitive, cutting our training time down significantly. We also really appreciate the hard work that they put in releasing new updates and listening to feedback!

Cons

We love pretty much every aspect of Shelterluv.

I have volunteered at shelters before and it's hard to keep things straight. I decided to do some research on software in this category. The owner was extremely happy with my findings when he saw it.

Pros

So easy to use. I always consider, if I can do it, anyone can do it. And I can easily use this software. It's very colorful and fun to use as well.

Cons

It was a little more than we wanted to spend, but glad we did.

Shelterluv is functional and easy to use. It has many great built-in features. For each profile, it is easy to update an animals location, medical, behavior, and adoption information. The search function operates well and it is easy to pull lists.

Cons

The search and report features have limited functionality. I would like to be able to search more easily by some qualifiers that are not searchable.

Pros

It is extremely user friendly. What you can’t figure out, the on line Help is fantastic. If you still need help, they respond promptly and completely to emails. I have worked on other systems, and this is by far the best!

### "A great tool for animal rescues!"

I've had a great experience with ShelterLuv! It's been such an easy onboarding process and I enjoy using ShelterLuv to manage our foster animals and adoptions.

Pros

ShelterLuv was easy to implement within our organization. The software is easy to understand and all of the tutorials make learning a breeze. We are working on switching almost all of our operations over to ShelterLuv!

Cons

Some of the configurations are a bit tedious to go through in order to change them. It feels like it could be more intuitive and streamlined sometimes.

Easy to use and learn, would definitely recommend to someone else in the field of animal welfare!

Pros

I find ShelterLuv helpful to use in my daily work in animal welfare. It makes visualizing data easy and makes data entry seamless and simple. I also particularly like the ability to select multiple animals when making edits, making work that would take hours take only a matter of minutes.

Cons

While the software is simple and easy to use, I would prefer there be more detailed views of the animals and more information on their page.
