A learning curve on there is NON existent and if there is, customer support is literally right at your becking call anytime of day! The team collaboration at my place of employment has never been better with absolutely NO bugs and issues. It's great because it allows them to pay by any major credit card/debit card. It also now has "buy now pay later" and "pay installments" options, which is great for my clients. Pros Easy to use. Keeps invoices organized. Allows clients to pay by credit card, or to pay in installments. No charge for the system, it just deducts a fee from every credit card transaction. Great mobile app! Cons Every time I login, it asks if I want information on a PayPal Business Loan. And almost everyday, I get an email from them also encouraging me to apply for a loan. I get that they need to make money, but this is very annoying. I wish I could turn this off somehow. It's a useful tool that I use daily to create quick and very secure invoicing because there's no insecurity when sending the link that's only for making the payment. Pros This tool, integrated into the PayPal application, makes it even more useful because without any accounting knowledge, I've managed to create professional-quality invoices to send to clients via email so they can make their online payments using the most convenient payment method. I like it because it's easy to learn, and when I have any questions, the support service is very quick to answer help tickets. It's also helped me ensure clients make payments securely with the link I share. It's an easy and secure process for them. For me, it helps me keep all my funds in my PayPal account. It's very secure and provides an excellent, fast payment method for each client. Also, to have a follow-up, from knowing if the client has already opened the invoice and if they made the payment. Cons In terms of function and quality, it's fine, but when there are too many payments, the commission can get a bit expensive, which has sometimes become uncomfortable. The amount discounted in commissions is so high. That's the only thing I don't like because everything else is done very well. I would like them to adjust the commission percentage. If I could make a comparison, Stripe is more practical and agile in this matter. Pros What I like most about Paypal invoicing is that I can send invoices to my clients with just one email and customize the logo and product type. Cons What I don't like is that there are many restrictions regarding the cards that can be used to pay. I have had multiple problems and complaints from my client that their card is not accepted by PayPal or perhaps they entered a number incorrectly and PayPal blocks the payment with their cards. This is very cumbersome since it is a waste of time and it is even a waste of money since users get frustrated and may not make the payment. Cons One downside is that the transaction fees can be a bit higher than other platforms, which starts to add up if you’re processing a lot of orders. February 17, 2019 5.0 Overall, I can't give up PayPal because it is so integrated with everything else I do and have - shipping, balance, PayPal Credit, etc... But there are definitely some things that are lacking, especially if my business were bigger. I definitely recommend you consider options before going to PayPal and building a life with them, so to speak, but it is possible that for you, like me, they are the best - however flawed - option that exists. Pros I use PayPal invoicing as a freelancer and mostly for one-off or two-part invoices. So, I can't speak to PayPal's recurring invoice feature. Here's what I like: Most importantly, the integration. PayPal feels like a bank, and to be able to make invoices and shipping labels from your "bank" is the most helpful thing. I don't have to transfer funds, I don't have to wait for them to deposit to my bank, it's all there and immediately usable. Also, the invoices are simple and straightforward, clients can pay by any means one would online, and there's a place for terms-conditions etc...I also like that I'm able to share a link or a PDF of the invoice with clients who just want an invoice for their records to then pay me through other means like cash/check/direct deposit. Cons First off, PayPal has awful customer service. If I had a higher volume of clients and therefore of issues, I feel like I'd use a different service. I had a client pay once and the money was taken from her bank, but it never got to me. We both tried contacting PayPal and got no response at all. It was even more insulting on my end given that I use PayPal as a business. Second - PayPal's fees when you invoice through them are a bit of a hassle and I know there's invoicing software out there that don't incur charges. This just means I have to take those fees into consideration when quoting clients, which make my prices seem a few dollars steeper than they are. Third gripe: I've been trying to edit a part of my business info on the invoice header for ages and it won't allow me. It asks for me to upload my ID to verify, but then it won't process my ID. And of course, customer service is unresponsive. It's not the end of the world because I just hide that info from the header, but it is a minor frustration and inconvenience.
