Pros I enjoyed that it was easy to submit all the required information for backgroud checks.Additionally the customer support works in case there are any questions or problems. Cons I wanted to know what details I had submitted and would love to see all the fields submitted even if I can not edit them. This caused me to go to customer support to verify I had submitted the right information instead of just being able to see it myself. For example, I am Ukrainian and live now in the UK. What check should I pass - Ukraine or UK? What documents should I load, etc?Also, this check takes a long time and you can not see any progress on it. Pros Easily accessed on your mobile - can take employers seconds to complete a reference. Helpful and customizable notifications, easy to keep a track of pending checks. Cons Zinc do not use the Work Number to verify employment, which means that it is not globally inclusive and works better for some countries than it does for others. We spend a lot of time at Snyk finding work arounds, directly with the employee. The employment verifications section need some work as is hard to set the criteria you want, as new joiners/employees can find ways around this. We wanted to set our references to either 3 past employers, or employment verification(s) that covered the last 7 years - whichever was met first. However this isn't possible, it can only be either or. Also if employees provide two references, for the same employer, this counts towards the 3 different employer references needed, and this is not right. Pros Zinc's customer support is always helpful and efficient and have access to the knowledge and skills to resolve my question from their chat feature. The results provided from the checks are clear and easy to understand Cons Sometimes there are checks pending and it's not always clear if an action is needed on my side as admin or on the side of the candidate. Easy to do, even if you have checks that you don't usually require, such as regulatory roles, you can just create a package online and they invoice you for what you need. Their customer support is quick, easy and sort out any issues you have straight away. Strongly recommend. Pros We previously did our references and DBS checks in house. Adding Zinc into to our ATS for automation has been a game changer. As a small team, it has saved us so much time! Cons The only one tiny thing is to put in a template email for referencing for regulatory roles, and explain why you need to ask the extra questions. My experience was seamless. I was surprised by how quickly the criminal and education checks were completed. Cons The only hiccup was that after deleting a reference request and creating a new one, the referee could see both requests and wasn't sure which one to act on.
